NCT ID: NCT03329404 Terminated - Clinical trials for Transfusion Dependent Thalassemia

Efficacy and Safety of RBCs Derived From Mirasol-treated Whole Blood in Patients Requiring Chronic Transfusion (PRAISE)

PRAISE
Start date: April 12, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective, multi-center, randomized, crossover trial to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of red blood cells (RBCs) derived from Mirasol-treated whole blood (WB) versus conventional RBCs in transfusion dependent thalassemia patients. Throughout the clinical study, RBC transfusion volume and frequency will be determined by each subject's treating physician.

NCT ID: NCT03329378 Terminated - Clinical trials for Locally Advanced Breast Cancer

Neoadjuvant Dose-Dense For Early Her2Neu Positive Breast Cancer

Start date: January 24, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objective: • Determination of pathologic complete response (pCR) rates Secondary Objective: - Determination of cardiac toxicity as measured by: composite of LVEF, longitudinal strain and troponin. - Breast conservation rates - Overall survival Study Design - Approximately 34-74 patients with Her2 positive, Stage II-regional IV breast cancer will be enrolled. - Patients will be stratified by ER/PR status. - They will be randomized to ddACTHP vs TCHP. - Initially, 17 patients will be randomly assigned to each treatment arm. - If 3 or fewer patients have a pCR, then that arm will be terminated and no further patients will be entered on that treatment arm. - If 4 or more patients obtain a pCR, 20 additional patients (total of 37 patients) will be randomized to that treatment arm. - If 11 or more patients out of 37 have a pCR, the treatment will be of interest for further study.

NCT ID: NCT03328858 Terminated - Brain Tumors Clinical Trials

Ketogenic Diet in Children With Malignant or Recurrent/Refractory Brain Tumor

Start date: November 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the ketogenic diet on tumor size and quality of life in pediatric patients with malignant or recurrent/refractory brain tumors.

NCT ID: NCT03327727 Terminated - Clinical trials for Invasive Aspergillosis

VL-2397 Compared to Standard First-Line Treatment for Invasive Aspergillosis (IA) in Adults

Start date: February 20, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new antifungal with a novel mechanism of action in immunocompromised adults with invasive aspergillosis.

NCT ID: NCT03327519 Terminated - Asthma Clinical Trials

Solving Insomnia Electronically: Sleep Treatment for Asthma

SIESTA
Start date: May 29, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Insomnia is commonly reported by adults with asthma. Insomnia can worsen asthma patients' quality of life and increase the risk for asthma attacks. This clinical trial will compare sleep and asthma control in adults with asthma and insomnia who receive either an internet-based intervention for insomnia or an educational video about insomnia.

NCT ID: NCT03326869 Terminated - Presbyopia Clinical Trials

A Study Raindrop Near Vision Inlay in Presbyopes Implanted in Corneal Pockets

Start date: October 18, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to evaluate the Raindrop® Near Vision Inlay for the improvement of near vision in presbyopes implanted in corneal pockets with a delayed or a non-delayed approach.

Avatrombopag for the Treatment of Thrombocytopenia in Adults Scheduled for a Surgical Procedure

Start date: March 26, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Phase 3b open-label, multicenter study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of avatrombopag in subjects with thrombocytopenia scheduled for operations to critical sites or operations with a high risk of bleeding.

NCT ID: NCT03326674 Terminated - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Tesetaxel Plus Reduced Dose of Capecitabine vs. Capecitabine in HER2 Negative, HR Positive, LA/MBC

CONTESSA
Start date: December 21, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

CONTESSA is a multinational, multicenter, randomized, Phase 3 study of tesetaxel in patients with HER2 negative, HR positive LA/MBC previously treated with a taxane in the neoadjuvant or adjuvant setting. The primary objective of the study is to compare the efficacy of tesetaxel plus a reduced dose of capecitabine versus the approved dose of capecitabine alone based on progression-free survival (PFS) as assessed by the Independent Radiologic Review Committee (IRC). 685 patients were enrolled.

NCT ID: NCT03326128 Terminated - Smoking Cessation Clinical Trials

High Dose Bupropion for Smoking Cessation - Pilot Study

Start date: September 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to investigate the benefit of administering two differing doses of Bupropion (BUP) to smokers to assist with smoking cessation.

NCT ID: NCT03325933 Terminated - Blood Pressure Clinical Trials

Resistance Training and Cardiometabolic Health

Start date: September 21, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will investigate the relationship between resistance training load and repetitions on cardiometabolic outcomes. The primary objective of this clinical trial is to determine whether high load or low load resistance exercise training affects arterial stiffness in overweight or obese men and women. Our secondary objectives are to investigate the effects of high and low load RT on vascular function, cardiac structure, and markers of insulin sensitivity. Finally, we are going to preliminarily explore the effects of resistance training on intestinal bacteria.
