There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this feasibility and acceptability trial is to learn about the acceptability of adding a recovery-oriented, psychological framework to a standard medication management appointment with a psychiatrist and any impact on attendance and functioning. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: 1. Will CT-R medication checks will be acceptable to the patient and feasible to deliver and receive, as measured by asking patients how they like the CT-R med checks and our ability to do this study in addition to number of patient drop-outs? 2. Will CT-R medication checks will be related to significantly greater engagement with treatment as measured by: lower no-show rates, greater self-reported working alliance, and better treatment adherence? 3. Will CT-R medication checks will be related to greater activity and increase in functioning as measured by: time use survey, GAF, skill use? 4. Will CT-R medication checks will be related to a trend in improved defeatist beliefs, negative symptoms, paranoia, and self-esteem? Researchers will compare the group assigned to the trial psychiatrists to a small group who were assigned to non-trial psychiatrists to see if the intervention impacted any of the above questions beyond TAU.
Airway swelling and edema after cervical spine surgery(CSS) especially in prone position is the direct cause that prohibits patient from extubation. Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion causes severe peri-vertebral soft tissue swelling that was associated with increased postoperative airway complications. Facial, lip and tongue edema in combination with the cuff leak test and risk factors are currently served as the bases on whether patient can be extubated after spine surgery. Direct visualization of the larynx and inside trachea post-operatively to assess the airway directly using flexible fiberoptic scope as well as to quantify the degree of airway edema has not been investigated. Investigators are comparing airway before and after cervical spine surgery for any degree of narrowing in the airway using flexible fiberoptic scope. Investigators are also studying the risk factors affecting the degree of narrowing in the airway if any
Limited research has been done to assess the safety of PMV use during sleep. One prospective study completed by Diez-Gross, et al in 2007 looked at 10 male subjects recorded on two consecutive nights, one night with PMV on and one night with PMV off. All recordings took place in a monitored setting. The variables studied included O2 saturation, apnea index, apnea - hypopnea index, and nursing reports. Conclusion was PMV use for one night in seriously ill tracheostomy patients was not associated with respiratory distress or cardiac issues.
This study will evaluate an intervention's feasibility, acceptability and efficacy potential in a one-arm trial with Romanian transgender and gender diverse (e.g., gender non-binary) (TGD) individuals who report depression or anxiety. The intervention will consist of 16 1-hour sessions delivered by our trained therapists on Zoom. These sessions are based on 6 principles of LGBTQ-affirming CBT, as follows: (1) normalizing mood and anxiety as a common response to LGBTQ related stress; (2) challenging persistent, inflexible LGBQ-related stress-induced cognitions; (3) encouraging assertive behavior and open self-expression to effectively cope with the consequences of LGBTQ-related stress; (4) validating lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) clients' unique strengths; (5) building authentic relationships as an essential resource for LGBTQ people's mental health; and (6) recognizing intersectional identities as a source of stress and resilience.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the pharmacokinetics (PK), metabolites, route of elimination, and mass balance of BMS-986368 in healthy male participants.
The goal of this observational study is to compare the presentation, treatment, and outcomes in patients suffering traumatic pancreatic injuries from blunt or penetrating trauma. The questions this study aims to answer are: 1. Does a statistically significant association exist between pancreatic injury grade and the following individual factors: - Mortality - Morbidity - Injury severity score 2. Is there an association between post-operative pancreatic complications and operation-specific intervention? 3. Does pancreatic injury score correlate with certain intra-abdominal organ injuries? Participants meeting criteria are greater than 18 years old, with no history of pancreatic surgery who were hospitalized at Kern Medical Center after presenting to the institution's emergency department as tier 1 or 2 trauma activations following blunt or penetrating abdominal injury and were diagnosed with pancreatic injury during the same hospitalization.
The proposed study is a prospective, observational, investigator and patient blinded study comparing the results of blood volume measurement using the FDA-cleared Daxor BVA-100 device to the Daxor BVA-200 device. Data from this study may be pooled with data from studies with similar design conducted at other sites, for the purposes of an FDA medical device submission.
85 percent of women of reproductive age experience consistent period cramps/menstrual pain, and 60% indicate that they do not use painkillers to relieve menstrual symptoms; there is a need for natural and non-medicative supplements to dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this clinical trial is to examine the effect of 'Cramp Bites'--classified by a mixture of natural ingredients researched to help with period pain--on women suffering from primary dysmenorrhea: this will be done through providing participants with the snack and surveying them on how it changes their period symptoms.
The goal of this trial is to understand which of five "High In" front-of-package label designs is most effective at helping consumers identify the healthiest products (i.e., products that are high in the fewest number of nutrients of concern: added sugar, sodium, and saturated fat).
Pharmacologic stress ulcer prophylaxis is routinely used in the intensive care unit (ICU) to prevent upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding in critically ill patients.
