There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Recent studies suggest that patients with heart failure (HF) may have a reduced ability to control the tone of their blood vessels, heart rate or blood pressure in response to stress. This study will test whether 16 weeks of protein supplements can improve control of blood pressure and heart rate in HF patients.
In this pilot study the investigators are testing whether an injury prevention program will help improve quality of movement and decrease number of injuries in collegiate women's lacrosse athletes. The primary purpose is to determine whether an injury prevention program including individualized movement instruction along with an educational program is better than an educational program alone for improving movements that can increase risk of injury and decreasing number of injuries. The investigators will recruit women's lacrosse athletes from the San Diego State University women's lacrosse team. Enrolled participants will be divided up into two groups of 10 individuals. Both groups will participate in an injury prevention educational program including a lecture component with pictures and videos, and a practice component in which athletes will be provided with group instruction on how to perform the activities and then will have an opportunity to practice all activities. In addition to the educational program, athletes in the individualized movement instruction group will be provided individualized feedback on their movements when performing activities from the injury prevention program during 3 sessions throughout the season. The primary outcomes that will be evaluated include lower body movement during a jumping and balance task as measured using a 3D motion capture system. The investigators hypothesize that participants who receive the individualized feedback in addition to the education program will display greater improvements in movements that increase injury risk when compare to the education only intervention group.
This study aims to evaluate feasibility of a virtual reality software device and measure the effects of the intervention on OUD patient mood, tension and cravings, as well as the effect of treatment on patient retention to their inpatient detox protocol.
An Open Label Study to Assess the Effect of Patient Use and Robustness of Tiotropium 18ug Inhalation Powder, Hard Capsule, Inhaler Device. Zephir inhaler robustness will be assessed by in vitro testing of the Zephir inhaler after 12 weeks of patient use
The primary objective of this study is to determine whether a reduced radiation protocol (RRP) in which angiograms are acquired at ultralow radiation doses and then processed using spatiotemporal enhancement software can produce similar quality angiographic images as compared with standard techniques.
This was a retrospective, longitudinal, observational study conducted using the Flatiron Health electronic health record (EHR)-derived database. BRAF+ advanced or metastatic (i.e., stage III or IV) melanoma patients treated at oncology practices across the US were identified for potential inclusion. All included patients were aged ≥18 years and required to have a diagnosis of melanoma (International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-9 172.x & ICD-10 C43 or D03x), a pathologic unresectable stage III or IV diagnosis, subsequent first-line (1L) treatment with either immunotherapy (IO) (nivolumab, pembrolizumab, ipilimumab + nivolumab) or targeted therapy (TT) dafratenib + trametinib (dab/tram) on or after 01 January 2014, and evidence of a BRAF-positive result at any point in time.
To evaluate the performance of a new tonometer.
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a 4-week mindfulness program among young women in Puerto Rico with elevated stress. The main questions it aims to answer are: - how feasible and acceptable is a s a 4-week mindfulness program among participants with elevated stress - what are the changes in psychological resilience, psychological distress, health behaviors, and cardiometabolic markers Participants will be asked to - attend 4 weekly virtual sessions and daily mindfulness exercises at home - complete online study questionnaires
The study will evaluate the impact of the Active Nutrition 60-day program from USANA on weight loss and related measures, such as body composition, physical appearance/body shape, perceived wellness, and biochemical markers of health (e.g., blood lipids, glucose, insulin).
The proposed field trial will clarify the real-world effectiveness of HAs in remediating deficits in emotion processing for older adults with mild-to-moderate hearing loss. This study will employ a repeated reversal design to establish baseline affective state without HAs, when wearing amplification, and after HAs are removed. This study will triangulate self-report, behavioral, and physiological measures to capture nuances of emotional processing in the laboratory and in daily listening. Naturalistic stimuli will be used as it occurs in daily life to elicit emotional experiences, and ecological momentary assessment and commercially-available wearable sensors will be used to track changes in emotional state in daily listening. Anchoring real-world emotional experiences with controlled laboratory experiences will validate wearable sensors. Additionally, laboratory emotional stimuli will be related to real-world emotional experiences to establish the utility of laboratory stimuli in future studies. It is likely that benefits in emotional processing will have differential effects based on individual characteristics (such as degree of hearing loss, age, gender, cognitive ability, and personality), so participants will be analyzed according to larger groupings based on individual differences.
