NCT ID: NCT06176625 Active, not recruiting - Delirium Clinical Trials

Sight and Hearing Investigation Into Effects on Delirium

SHIELD
Start date: January 11, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this observational study is to learn about sensory loss in hospital patients with delirium. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Are hearing and vision loss related to increased risk of having delirium? - Do hearing and vision loss contribute to more severe delirium? - Do sensory loss and/or delirium affect patient satisfaction with hospital care? Participants will be asked to: - answer delirium screening questions, - undergo hearing & vision screenings, and - complete questionnaires about the hospital stay. The second part of this study is a clinical trial. Researchers will compare different hospital units to see if changing communication affects the number of patients with delirium. The main questions it aims to answer are: • Does sharing information about communication and/or providing hearing devices change the number of hospital patients with delirium? Participants in the study will be asked to complete delirium screenings and answer questions about their hearing and communication.

NCT ID: NCT06171542 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Shoulder Osteoarthritis

Efficacy of a Single Image Guided Injection of CTM for Glenohumeral Arthritis

HC22-1
Start date: December 22, 2022
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

CTM Biomedical markets and distributes decellularized particulate human placental connective-tissue matrix products, intended solely for homologous use to supplement or replace damaged or inadequate connective-tissue. These are structural tissue allografts processed according to the criteria contained in 21CFR 1271.10(a) for regulation solely under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act. The goal of this study is to determine the success rate of a single, image guided glenohumeral CTM injection (for radiographically confirmed glenohumeral osteoarthritis at follow up intervals of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months. This will be measured using the Likert Pain Scale (LPS) and Oxford Shoulder Score (OSS). Secondary goals are to identify if certain demographic or imaging factors exist that predict early symptom recurrence requiring additional intervention, defined as a second connective tissue matrix injection, a subsequent corticosteroid injection, or arthroplasty.

NCT ID: NCT06169683 Active, not recruiting - Hearing Loss Clinical Trials

Lyric4 Outcomes Evaluation

Start date: November 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical investigation is to obtain feedback on Lyric4 device updates within a cohort of experienced adult Lyric hearing instrument users. The main question it aims to answer is: • Do device updates cause a change in Lyric patient experience? Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires about their past experience with Lyric, as well as their experience with Lyric during the study period. They will also be asked to undergo aided audiometric testing with Lyric devices.

NCT ID: NCT06168825 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Mind Over Matter for Black and African American Women: A Single Arm Trial Examining Feasibility and Acceptability of a Supportive Intervention

MOM
Start date: January 17, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The goal of this study is to learn if the Mind Over Matter (MOM) Intervention, a 5-week group program, can help Black and African American women deal with the fears, worries and sadness that often accompany cancer diagnosis and treatment. The main question this study aims to answer is: • Whether the MOM Intervention is feasible and acceptable among Black and African American women. We would also like to find out if: - The MOM Intervention decreases anxiety, depression and physical symptom severity for Black and African American women. - The MOM Intervention is culturally and linguistically appropriate, and identify barriers, strengths, and areas of improvement. Participants will: - Attend a Pre-Program Orientation - Attend 5 weekly MOM Sessions - Complete 2 questionnaires (one will be given before the first MOM Session begins, and the other will be given after the last MOM Session) Participants also have the choice to attend an optional Focus Group, which will be offered after the last MOM Session. Please note, this entire Intervention will be offered online. There will be no in-person sessions or visits.

NCT ID: NCT06167759 Active, not recruiting - Opioid Use Clinical Trials

Preventing Opioid Misuse Through Safe Opioid Use Agreements Between Patients and Surgical Providers

Start date: December 5, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The effect of pain agreements to reduce opioid misuse is an accepted practice in many settings, but it has never been applied to the acute care setting. Pain agreements are considered the standard of care for chronic pain management reliant on opioid prescribing, and they are a mandated component of care in many states. Therefore, the adjunct of safe opioid use agreements into acute pain management offers a logical extension of current practices from chronic pain management. This study will test the use of agreements to improve safe opioid use to prevent misuse and opioid-related harm.

NCT ID: NCT06163898 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate Alnuctamab in Combination With Mezigdomide in Participants With Relapsed and/or Refractory Multiple Myeloma

Start date: February 27, 2024
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the recommended dose and schedule, and evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of alnuctamab in combination with mezigdomide in participants with relapsed and/or refractory multiple myeloma.

NCT ID: NCT06160167 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

Incidence of Hyperpigmentation in Black Patients With Multiple Myeloma Treated With Immunomodulatory Drugs

Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to measure the incidence of hyperpigmentation in Black participants with multiple myeloma (MM) treated with immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs) compared with Black participants with MM not treated with IMiDs. NCT ID: NCT06154161 Active, not recruiting - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Examining the Impact of High-protein Oral Supplement on Protein Status of Adults on Peritoneal Dialysis

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a 6-month prospective interventional clinical trial designed to evaluate the impact of whey protein isolate oral supplement on protein status. Differences in protein status will be evaluated with review of the medical chart from standard of care monthly blood collection for serum albumin, total protein, and normalized protein catabolic rate (nPCR) as detected by serum urea nitrogen. Mid-arm circumference and weight will be measured to ensure no significant changes. Quality of life will be measured to detect if the addition of protein aided in overall quality of life. There will be a 3-month recruitment period prior to the start of the trial to ensure the potential participants are familiarized with the clinical trial. After the recruitment period has finished, eligible participants will sign the consent form in order to participate in the study. At this point, participants will be provided the supplements for the month and instructed with the amount of water and how to mix with the provided measuring and drinking cup.
