Many patients may face long-term urinary side effects following stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), including increased urinary frequency, dysuria, and nocturia. The investigator hypothesizes that Urolift, which represents a novel minimally invasive therapy, may reduce acute and long-term urinary toxicity and side effects of radiation therapy (SBRT).
The CLAAS® device will be evaluated for safety and efficacy by establishing its performance is non-inferior to the commercially available WATCHMAN® and Amulet™ left atrial appendage closure devices in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Patients who are eligible for the trial will be randomized to receive either the CLAAS device or the WATCHMAN or Amulet™ devices and will be followed for 5 years after device implant.
Sensorimotor neuropathy (SMN) and cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) are the most common complications of type 2 diabetes (T2D). SMN affects ~30% of people with T2D and CAN ~20%. SMN causes pain, impairs and limits physical activity, and increases the risk for physical disability, complications (such as foot ulcerations), and premature mortality. Moreover, both motor and sensory nerve function are important regulators of muscle function; impaired myofiber innervation causes myofiber loss, muscle fat infiltration, and increases the risk of age-associated sarcopenia and falls. CAN often goes unrecognized because it presents with non-specific symptoms, such as resting tachycardia and fixed heart rate, exercise intolerance, and orthostatic hypotension. However, CAN is a serious problem because it increases the risk for cardiovascular events and mortality several-fold. Both SMN and CAN have long been considered a consequence of T2D, but it is now becoming clear that they precede the diagnosis of T2D and are already detectable in people with prediabetes, especially those with impaired glucose tolerance. Treatments for both SMN and CAN focus on symptom management because there are no effective therapeutics that target the underlying neuropathy. The results from studies conducted in animal models suggest fish oil-derived n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA) may have therapeutic effects for people with SMN and CAN. The purpose of this proposal is to conduct a randomized controlled trial to test the hypothesis that dietary supplementation with fish oil-derived n-3 PUFA improves sensorimotor and cardiovascular autonomic functions in people with impaired glucose tolerance. Forty 55-80 year old men and women with impaired glucose tolerance (plasma glucose 2 h after a 75 g glucose challenge ≥140 mg/dl) and evidence of SMN (assessed as epidermal nerve fiber density) will be randomized to either receive fish oil-derived n-3 PUFA (4.2 g per day; n=20) or placebo (n=20) for six months. Sensorimotor and cardiovascular autonomic function will be evaluated after three and 6 months of the interventions.
This phase 1b study is a double-blind, double-dummy, nitrofurantoin-controlled study designed to evaluate microbiological response at the test of cure (ToC) visit along with safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic (PK) response following daily oral dosing for 5 days of GSK3882347 in an adult female with uncomplicated urinary tract infections (uUTI). Comparator nitrofurantoin will be included in the study to ensure unbiased reporting of safety events. The study will be separated into 2 cohorts. Cohort 1 consists of an inpatient treatment period and PK analysis at frequent timepoints. Cohort 2 includes an outpatient treatment period and PK analysis conducted less frequently, at key trough timepoints.
This is a Phase 1/2 study to test the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the investigational agent MT-101 in patients with T cell Lymphoma. MT-101 is made with myeloid cells collected from the patient's blood. The myeloid cells are modified and later infused back into their veins. The modified myeloid cells recognize the tumor cells and are designed to target and kill them.
This study is being done to evaluate heart rate activity and sleep patterns, among participants in the Long-Term Follow-Up (LTFU) study. Primary Objective Using mobile health (mHealth) technologies in a large and well-characterized cohort of childhood cancer survivors, our primary objective is to understand the magnitude of increased risk of cardiac autonomic dysfunction by (a) comparing prevalence rates among survivors and siblings, and (b) determining the prevalence within specific subgroups of childhood cancer survivors defined by race, sex, cancer type and treatment exposures, and type and severity of chronic health conditions. Secondary Objectives Among long-term (≥5 years) survivors of childhood cancer (a) identify demographic, disease, treatment and cognitive-behavioral factors associated with an increased risk of cardiac autonomic dysfunction, (b) develop and validate risk prediction models for future clinical use in identifying individuals who may benefit from targeted interventions, and (c) investigate associations between dysfunction and perceived well-being.
A Phase 2 study to evaluate the clinical activity, safety, and potentially predictive biomarker profile of ZN-c3 in subjects with High-Grade Serous Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer
This is a data collection study, also referred to as a "screening" study; no investigational or standard therapy will be administered as part of this study. In order to identify subjects for the Phase I/II study, TCR001-201, patients with following histologically confirmed tumor types will be initially screened in this protocol for their somatic mutation and HLA type: - Gynecologic cancer (ovarian or endometrial) - Colorectal cancer - Pancreatic cancer - Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC includes but is not limited to squamous cell carcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma or adenocarcinomas - Cholangiocarcinoma Subjects' somatic mutation(s) and HLA type restriction combination will be examined against Alaunos Therapeutics Inc.'s (Alaunos) TCR library to determine if a TCR match is available for that subject. Subjects without a match will be discontinued from this protocol. Subjects with a TCR match in the Alaunos TCR library will continue to be followed on this protocol and their clinical status will be monitored on an ongoing basis for eligibility, i.e., for progressive or recurrent disease, to enroll and receive TCR-T cell therapy on the Phase I/II study. Subjects will complete participation on this protocol when the subject enrolls on the Phase I/II study or if the subject dies.
To evaluate the HyperDetector as a method to rapidly screen SARS-CoV-2 To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the screening assay performed on oral swab and saliva specimens, compared to a validated RT-PCR COVID-19 method using nasal or nasopharyngeal swabs and to separately collected nasal swabs, oral swabs, oral rinse and saliva samples. To determine the best workflow for using such an assay to reflex suspicious/positive samples to a validated RT-PCR COVID-19 assay.
