NCT ID: NCT04388306 Completed - Rotator Cuff Tears Clinical Trials

Shoulder Functional Performance After Shoulder Surgery

Start date: June 12, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Rotator Cuff (RC) injuries are a progressive clinical condition that starts with an acute tendonitis, continues with partial thickness rupture and results in a full thickness rupture in the advanced period. Arthroscopic RC repair is effective in the acute RC ruptures treatment caused by traumatic events. In the acute period after arthroscopic RC repair, shoulder joint range of motion (ROM), muscle strength and shoulder functionality are decreased and daily activities are adversely affected. In the long-term, many studies have reported that these symptoms gradually decreaced. Many studies investigating postoperative treatment of RC rupture have mostly focused on parameters such as postoperative pain, functionality, muscle strength, ROM and quality of life.Evaluation of these clinical parameters is necessary for patient follow-up in the early period. However, it is unclear whether the biomechanical etiologic factors continue that lead to RC rupture in the advanced period after surgery. Therefore, the objective of this study was functional performance of shoulder after arthroscopic Rotator Cuff repair and ınvestigation of performance related factors.

NCT ID: NCT04387877 Completed - Piriformis Syndrome Clinical Trials

Graston Technique in Deep Gluteal Syndrome

Start date: September 30, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Deep gluteal syndrome describes the presence of pain in the buttock caused from non-discogenic and extrapelvic entrapment of the sciatic nerve. The Graston Technique (GT) is a kind of manual therapy technique known as soft-tissue instrument-assisted mobilization. Instruments help to perform massage/scraping of the skin and miyofascia gently. The aim of this study is to investigate additive effect of GT applied to the lateral and posterior fascia to the exercise program in patients with deep gluteal syndrome on pain and disability.

NCT ID: NCT04387864 Completed - Postpolio Syndrome Clinical Trials

Whole Body Vibration on Muscle Strength in Patients With Postpolio Syndrome

Start date: October 1, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Post-polio syndrome (PPS) is a neurological disease that affects polio survivors at least 15 years after the initial polio infection. PPS is characterized by new neurological deficiencies after a period of neurological stability, especially at least 1 decade after the initial infection. PPS may manifest as new, persistent, and progressive muscle weakness, atrophy, limb fatigability, myalgia, arthralgia, and dysphagia, but also as generalized fatigue, which typically has a considerable impact on the patients' quality of life. Whole body vibration (WBV) has become a popular form of exercise therapy especially among elderly individuals, in past decades. This training method is performed by standing on a vibrating platform which is supposed to activate muscle contractions. WBV has been studied in neurologic populations with stroke, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, incomplete spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis. Our aim was to investigate the effectiveness of whole-body vibration (WBV) exercises performed with home exercise program and patient education in patients with postpolio syndrome (PPS) on muscle strength, fatigue, quality of life and laboratory parameters by comparing them with home exercise program and patient education alone.

NCT ID: NCT04387747 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Sarcopenia in Patients With Stroke

Start date: September 15, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of sarcopenia in stroke patients; to determine the relationship between sarcopenia and duration of stroke, age, gender, etiology of stroke, ambulation status, spasticity, nutrition and malnutrition

NCT ID: NCT04387565 Recruiting - Preeclampsia Clinical Trials

Magnesium and Vanadium Levels in Preeclampsia

V-Mg&PrE
Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Introduction: Vanadium important pollutants produced from anthropogenic activities, has been suggested to be embryotoxic and fetotoxic in a lot of studies. Magnesium sulfate therapy is used very common to prevent seizures in women with preeclampsia. However, the causes of preeclampsia are little known and heavy metals merit further investigation. The investigators will be tested whether late - onset preeclampsia (LOPE) was associated with exposure to these metals. Methods: This study was designed to determine maternal plasma/urine/hair magnesium and vanadium concentrations in women with LOPE (n=70) compared to those of normotensive pregnant women (n=70) and to those of normotensive-healthy non-pregnant women (n=70). These metals concentrations will be measured using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry were compared.

NCT ID: NCT04387396 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Investigation of the Effects of Physiotherapy in Patients With Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Applied Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: August 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates effects of PRP and physiotherapy on pain, physical function and quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

NCT ID: NCT04387370 Completed - Acute Appendicitis Clinical Trials

The Use of the Hem-o-lok Clip in Appendectomy: Single or Double?

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Stump safety is provided by different methods in laparoscopic appendectomy. Stapler use, binding with endoloop and nonabsorbable clip are the most common methods. Although the stapler is safe, it creates a significant cost increase. In connecting with the endoloop, the learning curve and surgical time are longer. Nonabsorbable clip application which has been used recently; Urethra was also used in appendectomy after its safety has been proven by large studies to close cystic ducts and vascular structures. Its advantages such as low cost, no need for a learning curve and shortening the surgical time have increased the frequency of use.In this prospective observational study; It will be aimed to investigate the effects of stump closure methods applied in laparoscopic appendectomy on short-term clinical results. In addition, the factors that determine the surgeon's stump closure method and cost results will be tried to be determined.
