NCT ID: NCT04630483 Withdrawn - Cancer Clinical Trials

Platelet-lymphocyte and Neutrophil-lymphocyte Ratio in Patients Undergoing Cancer Surgery

Start date: November 23, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Despite the use of surgery in an attempt to cure the majority of solid tumors, metastasis from residual cancer cells still remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality. General anesthesia and surgical stress during surgery suppress the immune response by directly affecting the immune system or by activating the hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal axis and the sympathetic nervous system. The aim of our prospective observational study was to assess the value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio regarding outcome underwent cancer surgery. Primary aim is to assess the preoperative and postoperative values of inhalational anesthesia vs total intravenous anesthesia.

NCT ID: NCT04630470 Completed - Hemodialysis Clinical Trials

Effect of Massage Therapy on Severity of Restless Legs Syndrome and Quality of Life in Hemodialysis Patients

Start date: January 30, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The restless leg syndrome (RLS) is among the most common problems for the individuals undergoing hemodialysis (HD) therapy. This randomized controlled trial was conducted to determine the effect of the massage, applied with 5% lavender oil for the individuals receiving HD therapy, in the first half of HD session three times a week for four weeks on both legs for 10 minutes in each leg, on severity of RLS and quality of life. The study was completed with 58 patients including 31 people in the intervention group and 27 people in the placebo control group, in 7 hemodialysis centers located in a city center. The ethics committee approval, informed consent of the individuals and the institutional permission were obtained. The data were collected using the patient information form, RLS Severity Rating Scale, Kidney Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (KDQOLTM-36) and patient follow-up charts. In accordance with the massage application protocol, those in the intervention group were massaged with lavender oil and those in the placebo group were massaged with baby oil. Chi-square test, t test, repeated measures one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation analysis tests were used to assess the data. In the comparisons, the value of p<0.05 was accepted as significant.

NCT ID: NCT04630223 Completed - Clinical trials for Intrauterine Retardation

Levels of Endocan in Umbilical Cord Blood Samples of Pregnant Females With Intrauterine Growth Retardation

Start date: March 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

As a proteoglycan secreted from endothelial cells, expression, and secretion of endocan increases in the endothelium of several tissues secondary to inflammation. It can be regarded as an indicator of endothelial damage. Besides, it is both a target and a modulator of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathway. Considering its action mechanisms, it can provide information about angiogenesis, inflammation, and vascular permeability. It is known that intrauterine growth retardation mainly occurs as a result of endothelial dysfunction and abnormal angiogenesis in the placenta. In previous studies, maternal serum endocan levels have also been shown to be increased in cases of preeclampsia, which is mainly characterized by placental dysfunction. So, we hypothesize that there may be an association between endocan levels and intrauterine growth retardation.

NCT ID: NCT04629638 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Maternal Attachment and Depression Anxiety Score Evaluation in COVID-19 Positive Pregnant Women

Start date: August 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Maternal attachment, Edinburgh depression scoring, and postpartum anxiety scale are evaluated in patients with covid-positive pregnancies in the 3rd month after birth.

NCT ID: NCT04629313 Completed - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

GCF Levels of IL-1Beta, MIP-1 Alfa and G-CSF in Gingivitis and Stage I-II-III-IV Periodontitis Patients

Start date: July 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Periodontal diseases are chronic diseases that occur as a result of a violation of the balance between microbial dental plaque and the host response. Gingivitis is a disease characterized by inflammation of the gums that occurs in one or more areas without loss of attachments.1 in periodontitis, an inflammatory event that begins in the gum along with gingivitis spreads to the periodontal ligament, alveolar bone and soft tissues that support the tooth, causing the destruction of these structures.2 Cytokines are low molecular weight proteins that participate in the initial and active stages of inflammation and immunity. In periodontal disease pathogenesis, cytokine response has been reported to play a very critical role in determining disease progression.3 IL-1beta, MIP-1alfa and G-CSF are key cytokines in chronic inflammatory diseases and have the potential to initiate bone loss and tissue destruction seen in periodontal disease.4the purpose of this study; it is to determine the degree of inflammation and periodontal destruction by determining the levels of IL-1beta, MIP-1alfa, G-CSF cytokines in the gum groove fluid of periodontal healthy and diseased individuals.

NCT ID: NCT04629248 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Primary Membranous Nephropathy

NCT ID: NCT04628676 Completed - Rotator Cuff Tears Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Efficacy of Irrigation With Epinephrine or Tranexamic Acid on Visual Clarity

Start date: February 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary aim of this report is to determine whether there is a difference between Epinephrine and Tranexamic acid in providing visual clarity during arthroscopic rotator cuff tear repair.

NCT ID: NCT04628637 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

High GRP78 Levels in Covid-19 Infection: A Case-Control Study

Start date: April 16, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Covid-19 infection was declared a global pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020. GRP78 protein is known to be involved in the intrusion of numerous viruses. Our current study tries to provide some insight into the variation of GRP78 protein levels in patients with Covid-19(-) pneumonia, Covid-19(+) pneumonia, and CT negative Covid-19 infection in comparison to the normal population through a larger number of cases. 42 patients who have Covid-19(-) pneumonia; 72 patients who have Covid-19 infection (30 pneumonia,42 CT negative patients) and 30 patient who have no known diseases (control group) will be included in the study after the clinical and radiological evaluation. Serum GRP78 levels of the subjects will be measured through a commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit.

NCT ID: NCT04628598 Enrolling by invitation - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

Effects of The Pregnant Follow-Up Conducted With Home Visits on The Perinatal Outcomes

Start date: November 2, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The World Health Organization (WHO) developed a safe motherhood program in 1987 to reduce maternal and infant mortality. Safe motherhood is maximizing maternal and child health. This is only possible with the highest level of prenatal, delivery and postnatal care. Care has a priority and special place in primary health care services. It increases access to preventive services such as monitoring prenatal and postnatal follow-ups in primary care, pregnant, postpartum and newborn health, immunization, training and counseling, early detection of risk, and decreases unwanted consequences. Home visits are a non-pharmacological and priority method in prenatal care. With this method, when healthcare providers (nurses, midwives) provide healthcare services to women in their own homes, it ensures the support and development of prenatal, maternal, infant and child health together with social, psychological, economic, familial and other factors. Prenatal care in Turkey is such that there will be at least four follow-ups. Current antenatal care guides suggest more contact with pregnant women. This study will examine the effects of pregnancy follow-up with home visits on perinatal outcomes.
