NCT ID: NCT04861753 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

The Effects of Reiki and Back Massage on the Pain and Vital Signs

Start date: July 9, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The practice of Reiki and back massage applications in support of pharmacological treatment is among the nursing initiatives and these practices increase the autonomy of the profession. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of Reiki and back massage on pain, analgesic use and vital signs in women who had undergone open abdominal hysterectomy. This was an experimental study with a single, blinded, pretest-posttest control group. The population of the study consisted of women who had abdominal hysterectomy in the Obstetrics Clinics at Gazi Yasargil Training and Research Hospital and Dicle University Hospital between July 2017 and February 2018. The patients were divided into three groups: Reiki, back massage and control, with 34 patients in each group. Reiki or back massage were applied for 20 minutes once a day to the patients in the Reiki and back massage groups.

COMMUTE-a
Start date: October 22, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of crovalimab in adult and adolescent participants with aHUS.

NCT ID: NCT04860960 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Niemann-Pick Disease, Type C1

Phase 3 Study to Evaluate Intravenous Trappsol(R) Cyclo(TM) in Pediatric and Adult Patients With Niemann-Pick Disease Type C1

TransportNPC
Start date: July 20, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, multi-center therapeutic study for patients age 3 and older with confirmed diagnosis of Niemann Pick disease type C1 (NPC1). The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of 2000 mg/kg dose of Trappsol Cyclo (hydroxypropyl betacyclodextrin) administered intravenously compared to standard of care. An open-label sub-study in countries following European Medicines Agency (EMA) guidance will enroll asymptomatic or symptomatic patients from infancy up to age 3 to evaluate safety in that population.

NCT ID: NCT04860895 Recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Detection of SARS-CoV-2 in Nasopharyngeal Swabs by Using Multi-Spectral Screening System

Start date: February 11, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this research is to use the Multi-Spectral method to measure the biomolecular fingerprint of the virus directly instead of the virus's RNA (RT-PCR) or the body's immune response (antibody) measurement methods to diagnose the SARS-COV-2 virus, thereby determining whether COVID-19 can be diagnosed faster, cheaper and without requiring a medical laboratory environment.

NCT ID: NCT04860622 Completed - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

Normal Range of TSH and FT4 in Pregnancy

NRTSHTURKEY
Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Physiological changes necessitate the use of pregnancy-specific reference ranges for thyrotrophin (TSH) and free T4 (FT4) to diagnose thyroid dysfunction during pregnancy. Although many centers use fixed upper limits for TSH of 2.5 or 3.0 mU/L, this may lead to overdiagnosis or even overtreatment. The new guidelines of the American Thyroid Association have considerably changed recommendations regarding thyroid function reference ranges in pregnancy accordingly. Any hospital or physician that is still using the 2.5 or 3.0 mU/l cut-off for TSH during pregnancy should evaluate their own lab-specific cut-offs. The investigator's objective is to establish a rational reference range of serum TSH for the diagnosis of subclinical hypothyroidism in the first, second, and third trimester of pregnant women in the Sancaktepe region in Turkey.

NCT ID: NCT04860557 Completed - Physical Activity Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Dual Task, Cognitive Skills and Physical Activity With Problematic Game Players and Control Subjects

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study was conducted to compare the cognitive skills, dual-task and physical activity status of individuals who play problem video games and healthy individuals, and to determine how much these skills are affected. The cognitive skills of individuals with video game playing problems and the control group were evaluated with the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test, the Trail Making Test A & B sections, and the Stroop test. I evaluated dual tasks with 10-meter walking test (single-double task) and Time Up and Go Test (single-double task). Physical activity levels were evaluated by International Physical Active Questionnaire. The average cognitive skills, dual tasks, and physical activity levels of the individuals in both groups were compared.

NCT ID: NCT04860388 Completed - Clinical trials for Orthodontic Treatment

Gingival Thickness of Impacted Maxillary Canines

Start date: May 29, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study was conducted to compare the periodontal health of labially and palatally impacted maxillary canines with similar mesio-distal displacement, perpendicular distance, and angulation, and to compare them with the contralateral canines that served as control teeth. Two null hypothesis were tested: (1) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness between impacted teeth and controls, and (2) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness of labially and palatally impacted canines.
