NCT ID: NCT04675671 Active, not recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Analgesic and Anxiety Efficacy of Preemptive Pregabalin

Start date: December 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Effective postoperative pain control after arthroscopic shoulder surgery optimizes postoperative rehabilitation, reduces anxiety, and can increase patient satisfaction and postoperative healing by providing amnesia and sedation. Few literature is available for postoperative pain management, including intra-articular local anesthetic infiltration, regional nerve blocks, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) with intravenous opioid, and oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and gabapentinoid drugs. Recently, gabapentinoides such as pregabalin have also shown to have potential in the treatment of acute postoperative pain as part of multimodal analgesia, due to their possible opioid consumption-reducing effects and prevention of post-surgical chronic pain. Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant drug that reduces calcium entry into the nerve terminals of the central nerve and also reduces levels of substance P, glutamate and noradrenaline, all of which play a major role in creating a feeling of pain. It is well known that pregabalin reduces central sensitization and hyperalgesia after tissue injury by inhibiting calcium influx in voltage-gated calcium channels. These theoretical advantages have led to clinical trials to confirm the analgesic effectiveness of oral pregabalin for postoperative pain management in various surgical procedures.

NCT ID: NCT04667000 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cesarean Section Complications

The Effect of Forced Air Warming During Caseraen Section on Maternal Hypothermia: Randomized Controlled Trial

Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

During the cesarean section; Hypothermia can be seen due to reasons such as anesthesia, premedication drugs, cold operating room environment, exposure of tissues and organs, and use of cold intravenous fluids. Hypothermia associated with cesarean may affect maternal and fetal health negatively. As a result of hypothermia, coagulopathy, infection, undesirable cardiac events that cause an increase in oxygen consumption, delay in postoperative recovery and wound healing, postoperative nausea and vomiting, chills and relief may be observed in the mother. Newborns born from hypothermic mothers have lower body temperature, pH and Apgar scores. It is important to evaluate all women in terms of risk factors in the preoperative period in the prevention of hypothermia and complications related to hypothermia. Prevention of hypothermia, which has negative effects on maternal and newborn health, is one of the risks that the nurse can address independently. Therefore, this research; In order to determine the effect of heating different body areas using compressed air heating technique during cesarean section on hypothermia, tremor, thermal comfort, postpartum comfort and maternal satisfaction, a parallel group was planned as a randomized controlled trial. The study is planned to be conducted in Hacettepe University Adult Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Department delivery room and obstetrics service. Research data, Introductory Information Form (Appendix 1), Obstetric and Postpartum Features Form (Appendix 2), Patient Monitoring Form (Appendix 3), Termal Comfort Perception Scale (Appendix 4), Shivering Level Diagnostic Form (Appendix 5), LATCH Breastfeeding The Diagnostic and Measurement Tool (Appendix 6) will be collected using the Visual Analogue Scale (Appendix 7) and the Thermal Comfort Scale that will be developed by the researchers. Pregnant women who meet the inclusion criteria will be included in the research. Women will be divided into 4 groups as the lower extremities are heated, the upper extremities are heated, the whole body is heated, and the control group. According to the group of women; It will be heated 30 minutes before surgery and 30 minutes after surgery with lower limb, upper limb or whole body. Women in the control group will not be heated.

NCT ID: NCT04665518 Active, not recruiting - Stress Clinical Trials

The Effect of Acupressure on Acute Pain, Stress and Satisfaction During Venipuncture

Start date: November 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Acupressure, which is a type of nonpharmacological practice. Acupressure is a practice that provides energy flow by applying pressure to the special points of the meridians that innately carry energy in the body with stimulation bands, hands, and fingers. Acupressure is also known as acupuncture without needles. Because no needles are used in acupressure, acupressure is an easy, safe, effective, and economical method to learn and apply. There is no study to determine the effect of acupressure on acute pain, patient satisfaction and stress, which is applied to adult patients during the venipuncture procedure. In this context, the study was planned to be conducted in a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of acupressure on acute pain, stress level and satisfaction during venpuncture in adult patients.Patient Evaluation Form, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Visual Patient Satisfaction Scale and State Anxiety Inventory will be used in the study. The scales will be used before and after venpuncture. Acupressure will be applied to the adults in the acupressure group for 10 min before the venipuncture procedure. Pain, heart rate, and oxygen saturation levels of the adults in the acupressure and control groups will be evaluated both before and after the venipuncture procedure.
