The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of the robotic hand exoskeleton, on the spasticity, motor control skills, level of daily living activity, quality of life and functional independence of stroke patients.
This study aimed to determine high-density lipoprotein (HDL) subfraction profile and HDL-associated enzyme changes in liver failure patients and healthy donors.
Good and quality sleep, which has an important place in the lives of all living things; important for the health and well-being of children. Proper sleep habits are needed for quality and adequate sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, these habits include practices such as regular bedtimes, sleep routines, screen restrictions before bed. With the age of starting school in children; Due to the roles brought by school, lessons and social obligations, problems such as delay in bedtime and shorter sleep time are seen. Shortening of sleep time causes sleep deprivation. sleep deprivation; It is defined as a delay in bedtime and a shorter sleep time than would normally be due to intentional or daily activities. The use of sleep hygiene interventions to address sleep deprivation in children is highly effective. Sleep hygiene is a cost-effective method that is performed without the need for any additional material, consisting of both environmental and behavioral habits. In our study, a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest-control study design with a control group will be used to determine the effect of sleep hygiene education applied with the combined package program on sleep deprivation and sleep habits in children. After the necessary permissions are obtained, the classes will be divided into experiments and controls by drawing lots. To the experimental group; After the pre-test is applied, training and tasks will be given. In addition, a sleep hygiene policy will be sent to the families by phone every day. The total intervention will last four weeks, at the end of which a post-test will be administered. Two weeks will be waited without intervention, two weeks later the control measurement will be made. To the control group; Pre-test and post-test will be applied at the same time with the experimental group and training will be given after the post-test. The research data will be evaluated with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) statistical program on the computer and in the form of numbers, percentages, averages and standard deviations for descriptive statistics in the computer environment and with necessary statistical analyzes. Significance will be accepted as p<0.05 at α=95% confidence interval.
the effectiveness of structured exercise training will be investigated for individuals with MS who are newly diagnosed and have no clinical problems. Individuals with MS included in the study will be randomly divided into two groups a Structured Exercise Group (SEG) and a Control Group (CG). In order to compare baseline and follow-up data, the Healthy Group (HG) will be taken and all three groups will be evaluated initially, 8. weeks and 24. weeks with primary and secondary outcome measurements. SEG, CG, and HG will be evaluated initially for postural sway, muscle strength, mobility, dexterity, cognitive function, trunk strength-endurance, and fatigue. Afterward, SEG will receive structured exercise training consisting of clinically supervised aerobic exercise and resistance training on unstable surfaces for 8 weeks, 2 days a week, with a minimum session duration of 60 minutes. Stretching and mobility exercises will be added to warm up and cool down before and after the program. CG will be on the waiting list during this process. At the end of 8 weeks, both groups will be reassessed with their initial assessment. After the 8-week program, the SEG physical activity recommendation will be given and the KG group will continue on the waiting list, and a follow-up evaluation will be made in the 24th week. This study will allow the comparison of newly diagnosed individuals with MS who do not have any physical or cognitive effects on neurological examination and healthy controls with objective and detailed evaluations, and will also reveal the evidence on the effects of planned structured exercises specific to individuals with newly diagnosed MS. During the 24-week follow-up period, the change in the clinical status of individuals with MS who received or did not receive any exercise training can be interpreted.
İntroduction The upper limb can be involved in children with cerebral palsy (CP), while the lower limb is more commonly affected. Little is known regarding the alterations in the upper limb kinematics after the orthopedic surgery of the lower extremity during gait. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in the upper limb kinematics in children with CP between preoperative and postoperative parameters.
The aim of our study is to examine the relationship between the parameters affecting the pelvic floor and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) functionality and to emphasize the necessity of investigating combined and coordinated exercise approaches in the treatment of dysfunctions that may occur in both specific regions. Our study, which is planned as an epidemiological research, will include 59 women between the ages of 20-50, who applied to the Istanbul Research and Training Hospital, Gynecology and Obstetrics Polyclinic, and volunteered to participate in the study. Assessments include pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic floor muscle activation, sacroiliac joint mobility, pelvis position, and pain for pelvic floor functionality; temporomandibular joint dysfunction, masseter muscle activation, temporomandibular joint range of motion, position of the mandible and pain for temporomandibular joint funstionlaity; strength of the muscles located on the deep anterior line and thought to be related, flexibility, myofascial trigger points and depression level for mediating factors affecting functionality. After the data are completed, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test will be applied to determine whether the data fit the normal distribution before starting the statistical analysis. Pearson Correlation test will be applied between dependent variables, independent variables and mediating factors in case the data show normal distribution, and Spearman Correlation test will be applied if it does not show normal distribution. Significance value will be determined as p<0.05, correlation coefficient between variables r: 0-0.46 (weak); r: 0.5-0.74 (medium); r: will be interpreted as 0.75-1.0 (strong).
More than 60% of patients infected with COVID-19 have long-term symptoms. These symptoms are associated with common ground-glass opacities on computed tomography scans and chest radiographs. The pathophysiology of long-term persistent symptoms is largely unknown, but hypoxia and hypoxic tissue damage, decreased pulmonary diffusion capacity, ventilation-perfusion mismatch, and lung fibrosis caused by COVID-19-associated pneumonia are thought to cause long-term symptoms. Desaturation may occur during exercise due to hypoxia, pneumonia and lung involvement in patients with post-COVID syndrome. Oxygenation of peripheral muscles may decrease due to hypoxemia, but there is not enough study on this subject yet.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of progressive relief exercise on sleep quality in patients with type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is among the diseases known as non-communicable or chronic diseases that occur as a result of the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body's inability to use the insulin it produces and increasing the costs of care all over the world. Counseling and health education are among the key components of diabetes management. Diabetes management consists of drug therapy, self-management, medical nutrition therapy, exercise and education parameters, and sleep disorders are ignored in diabetes management. The slightest disruption to sleep patterns has definite and direct effects on daily life and general health. Therefore; stay healthy; Sleep is necessary renew and repair systems such as to renew and muscle systems. Inadequate sleep quality can lead to impaired cognition, and sleep quality is an important aspect of life. Sleep disturbance or poor sleep quality is higher in individuals with chronic disease. Sleep disturbance in diabetes is associated with higher HbA1c levels and diseases such as diabetes reduce sleep quality and regularity; It is known to cause sleep disorders. Especially in Type 2 Diabetes cases, sleep problems are common. Having a chronic illness like Type 2 Diabetes can have an impact on sleep quality and rate alone. Complementary and integrated applications such as progressive relaxation exercise, which is one of the cognitive behavioral techniques, have been frequently used in researches in the field of nursing, due to its effects such as relatively relieving tension and anxiety in skeletal muscles, facilitating the transition to sleep and helping to reduce sleep problems. Despite the differences in progressive muscle relaxation methods, studies have shown that progressive muscle relaxation has important results in improving sleep quality in individuals with chronic diseases. In this respect, it is predicted that progressive relaxation exercise may give positive results on sleep quality in individuals with diabetes.
