The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between fibrinogen use and bleeding in patients who underwent cesarean section with a prediagnosis of PAS. The key question(s) it aims to answer are: [Does the use of fibrinogen concentrate reduce bleeding in PAS patients?] Patients who had a cesarean section with a pre-diagnosis of PAS were analyzed retrospectively. The choice of anesthesia applied to the patients and the relationship between the use of blood products and bleeding were evaluated.

Serum FGF21 Levels and Dietary Total Antioxidant Capacity in Type 2 Diabetes

This study aimed to evaluate the phytochemicals and total antioxidant capacity in the diets of individuals with type 2 diabetes and assess their relationship with glycemic parameters, as well as certain biochemical parameters and Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), which is an inflammatory marker. The study was conducted on a total of 80 individuals, including 40 patients with overweight or obesity (Body Mass Index (BMI) > 25 kg/m²) with type 2 diabetes aged between 18 and 64, and 40 healthy controls (BMI between 18.5-35 kg/m²). The individuals were followed for 12 weeks with an appropriate diet. Biochemical parameters, anthropometric measurements, and dietary intake records were monitored at specific intervals throughout the study. The phytochemical index and total antioxidant capacity of the individuals' diets were measured, and FGF21 was examined in the serum.

The Spinal Cord Injury Secondary Conditions Scale (SCI-SCS) is a 16-item questionnaire that assess secondary health conditions in persons with SCI. The total score of SCI-SCS range from 0 to 48 and is derived by adding the scores for each item. Higher scores indicate greater problems with secondary conditions. The investigators aimed to determine the reliability and cross-cultural validation of the Turkish translation of the SCI-SCS.

Plaque Removal Efficacy of Electric Toothbrushes in ADHD

A total of 52 children, 26 of whom were diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as the experimental group and 26 healthy with no systemic disease as the control group, were included in the study. Then, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of electric and manual toothbrushes, each group was randomly divided into 2 subgroups: Electric and Manual. Children were educated on toothbrushing according to subgroups. DMFT/dft and Löe-Silness Gingival Index (GI) values were recorded. At the first appointment, plaque disclosing was performed and Turesky modification of Quigley-Hein Plaque Index (TQHPI) and Approximal Plaque Index (API) values were recorded to determine the amount of dental plaque before the brushing. Subsequently, children brushed their teeth for 2 minutes with the subgroup's toothbrush type. Then, plaque disclosing and measurements were repeated to determine the amount of plaque removal after brushing. The same procedure steps were repeated at the 1st and 3rd-month appointments, respectively. a p-value below 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

Manual therapy techniques targeting the thoracic region are commonly used in clinical practice. It has been suggested that manual therapy interventions directed at the spine can increase mobility of the spine and chest wall, which may have a positive impact on lung functions. The potential positive effects of thoracic manipulation on respiratory system diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma have been investigated and continue to be studied. Specifically, the results of studies investigating the physiological outcomes of this therapeutic approach in healthy adults are conflicting. The aim of this study is to investigate the short-term effects of thoracic manipulation and mobilization, as well as diaphragm mobilization, through a single session of manual therapy interventions on respiratory functions.
