There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Lymphedema is a condition characterized by generalized or regional accumulation of protein-rich interstitial fluid as a result of impaired lymphatic circulation due to congenital or acquired disorders. Lymphedema is diagnosed through evaluations of its clinical criteria. Lymphedema is mostly evaluated through arm circumference measurements, water displacement measurements, tonometry, bioimpedance analysis, ultrasonography (US), computed tomography, lymphoscintigraphy and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Targets in the treatment of lymphedema include controlling the symptoms and preventing complications. A multimodal technique called complete decongestive therapy (CDT) is considered the gold standard of the treatment of lymphedema. In the literature, there are also studies showing that stellate ganglion block in breast cancer-related lymphedema treatment improves lymphedema and symptoms. Cervical stellate ganglion block is an invasive method used for the diagnosis and treatment of sympathetic pain and symptoms of upper extremity. Although it can be performed with fluoroscopy, CT and MRI, there has been increasing interest in ultrasound-guided technique since it has been fast, easy and cost-effective for the last few years. However, there are limited studies to provide sufficient evidence for the use of stellate ganglion block as an alternative treatment for lymphedema and detailed studies are needed in this area. The aim of this study is ultrasonographic evaluation of the efficacy of stellate ganglion block in the treatment of patients with breast cancer related lymphedema that is resistant to conservative treatment methods .
The evaluation of an accurate occurrence rate for AKI is of great importance for health policy, quality initiatives as well as for designing clinical trials. The primary objective is to prospectively evaluate the incidence of AKI within 72 h after extended surgical procedures that require admission to an observation unit.
Microbiota contributes to the immunological, hormonal and metabolic homeostasis of the host. As in all natural orifices in the body, there is also a microbiota and mycobiota specific to the vagina. On the other hand, the sonographic short cervix in the second trimester of pregnancy is associated with preterm delivery, which may be an important cause of mortality and morbidity in the neonatal period. American Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), British Royal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG) and the American Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM) suggest that the measurement of transvaginal sonographic cervical length at 20-24 gestational weeks for the screening of preterm birth. The aforementioned associations also recommend the use of progesterone in the treatment of women who diagnosed with short cervix by transvaginal ultrasonography due to the fact that progesterone is an effective medication in the prevention of preterm birth (Grade B). Previous vaginal microbiota studies have shown that some bacterial species such as Lactobacillus insers cause a predisposition to premature labor in women with a short cervix. However, the prominent lack in these studies is that the eukaryotic fungi in abundant vaginal flora have not been evaluated. On the other hand, it was already shown that progesterone treatment is able to prevent only 45% preterm birth in women with short cervical length. This observational prospective study thus aims to evaluate the variety of microbiota and/or mycobiota in pregnancies resulting in preterm birth and those who give birth at term. Although women with short cervical length receive progesterone regularly from the second trimester, the preterm birth may occur. In this study, the investigators also aim to evaluate the patterns of microbiota and mycobiota from vaginal swabs of women who had preterm birth with short cervical length and postpartum swabs of the placenta and fetal oral cavity.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Body Awareness Therapy (BAT) on pain, balance and functional capacity in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Individuals will divided into two groups: training group and control group. Both groups will receive exercise training as a home program. Individuals in study group will participate in BAT training 3 days for 6 weeks. Assessments will be made before and after the 6-week study program.
300 women will be evaluated in this study. Their quality of life, level of physical activity, Social Functioning, levels of depression and musculoskeletal status will be assessed.
This is an open-label, multicenter, extension study to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of BeiGene investigational drugs in participants with advanced malignancies who participated in a prior BeiGene-sponsored clinical study (parent study).
NuTide:121 compares NUC-1031 with gemcitabine, both in combination with cisplatin, in patients with previously untreated advanced biliary tract cancer. The primary hypotheses are: - The combination of NUC-1031 plus cisplatin prolongs overall survival compared to the gemcitabine plus cisplatin standard of care - The combination of NUC-1031 plus cisplatin increases overall response rate compared to the gemcitabine plus cisplatin standard of care
This study evaluates the effects of progressive relaxation exercises on artralgia, quality of life and anxiety-deppression in breast cancer patients receiving aromatase inhibitor. Half of the participants will receive supervised progressive relaxing exercises, while other half will not receive any exercise but only advice about relaxing. Hypothesis: Progressive relaxation exercises improve the pain, quality of life and emotional status in breast cancer patients receiving aromatase inhibitor therapy.
The objective of this study is to perform a prospective randomized controlled trial seeking to characterize the effects of intra-ovarian injection of platelet rich plasma (PRP) on biomarkers of ovarian reserve as well as IVF outcomes in women with primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) and poor ovarian response (POR) who decline the use of an egg donor to establish a pregnancy.
The aim of this study was to translate the Pain Sensitivity Questionnaire, which was developed to determine the level of pain sensitivity of individuals, to Turkish and to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the scale on knee osteoarthritis patients, and as well as to perform cultural adaptation. Pain sensitivity assessment is used to predict treatment or surgical outcomes of individuals. IPain Sensitivity Questionnaire is a frequently used scale that correlates with experimental pain tests and is used in studies conducted in different patient groups. We believe that adding this scale to our language will contribute to other studies in this field.
