NCT ID: NCT04205318 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

FTO Gene Variants and Diet in Obesity

Start date: March 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Studies have shown that the effect of fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) gene on obesity is modulated by lifestyle factors. Hence, we aimed to determine whether two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the FTO gene are associated with obesity and to assess whether these associations were modified by lifestyle factors. The study included 200 obese and 200 non-obese individuals from Turkey. Our study suggests that the effect of the SNPs on obesity traits is likely to be influenced by lifestyle factors in this Turkish population.

NCT ID: NCT04205253 Completed - Edema Clinical Trials

Tongue Depressor-related Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Tongue

Start date: October 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aimed to detect tongue edema associated with the pressure exerted by a rigid direct laryngoscope by measuring the tongue area using USG in patients undergoing suspension laryngoscopy (SL) procedures.

NCT ID: NCT04205188 Completed - Haemophilia Clinical Trials

The Effects of Therapeutic Exercises on Kinesiophobia in Haemophilic Patients.

Start date: July 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

this study evaluates the effects of therapeutic exercises on kinesiophobia and health-related quality of life in adult haemophilia patients. half of participants will receive therapeutic exercises and verbal information about the positive effects of therapeutic exercises on physical pathologies due to hemophilic arthropathy while the other half will receive only verbal information.

NCT ID: NCT04204681 Completed - Children, Only Clinical Trials

Tonsillar Retractor-induced Subacute Submassive Tongue Edema

Start date: November 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aimed to detect tongue edema induced by the pressure exerted by tonsillar retractor; edema detection was made through tongue area measurement using ultrasonography (USG) in pediatric patients who underwent tonsillectomy surgeries.

NCT ID: NCT04204460 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Patellar Tendinopathy

Electromyographic Evaluation of Quadriceps During Eccentric Decline Squat

Start date: December 15, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Previous studies have generally investigated patellar tendon stiffness, cross-sectional area of patellar tendon, patellar tendon length, patellar force and patellafemoral forces during decline squat. However, there is just a few study about electromyographic (EMG) activity during the eccentric squating, which is about rectus femoris (RF) recruitment. In the present study the investigators primarly aimed to quantify the activation of RF, vastus lateralis (VL), and vastus medialis obliqus (VMO) during eccentric squat on different decline angle (0, 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°). An additional purpose of our study was to compare the changes in muscle activation at various arc of knee flexion motion (degrees of 0-30, 30-60, 60-90, 0-60, 30-90, 0-90).The investigators hypothesised that the recruitment of RF, VL, and VMO during eccentric squat would differ according to decline angle and arc of motion.

NCT ID: NCT04204408 Completed - Healthy Volunteers Clinical Trials

A Research Study Investigating Mim8 in People With Haemophilia A

FRONTIER1
Start date: January 10, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is investigating how Mim8 works in people with haemophilia A, who either have inhibitors or do not have inhibitors. Mim8 is a new medication that will be used for prevention of bleeding episodes. Mim8 works by replacing the function of the missing clotting factor VIII (FVIII). Mim8 will be injected with a thin needle in the skin of the stomach, using a pen-injector. The study will last for up to 44 months. It consists of a main phase (part 1 and part 2) and an extension phase. In part 1, participants will be injected only once with either Mim8 or a "dummy" medicine (placebo) - which one will be decided by chance. In part 2 and the extension phase participants will get an Mim8 injection weekly or monthly.

NCT ID: NCT04204343 Completed - Anesthesia, Local Clinical Trials

Comparing Analgesic Effects of Caudal and Erector Spinae Plane Blocks in Pediatrics Undergoing Upper Abdominal Surgery

Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Upper abdominal surgeries are painful and pediatric patients who undergo these operations require effective postoperative pain control. Epidural and caudal blocks are considered to be the gold standard regional analgesia techniques. Currently, ultrasound guidance is commonly used for caudal block performances to demonstrate the cannula placement and the deposition of local anesthetic. Additionally, erector spinae plane block can be a safer alternative for blocking the similar dermatomes. In this study, the aim is to compare postoperative analgesic effects of these two ultrasound-guided techniques in pediatric patients. The primary outcome of this study is the follow-up of FLACC/VAS pain scores. Secondary outcomes are time to first analgesic requirement, number of patients who require rescue analgesic, possible side effects, time to first mobilization, length of hospital stay and chronic pain due to incision after 2 months.

NCT ID: NCT04204304 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Relationship Between Serum Vitamin D Levels and Musculoskeletal Adverse Effects in Patients Using Isotretinoin

Start date: March 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Isotretinoin (ISO) has been used in the treatment of patients with severe acne vulgaris (AV) that is resistant to standard therapy with systemic antibiotics and topical agents, over the last few decades. There are various side effects of ISO in the skeletal system. This study investigate the relationship between ISO-induced musculoskeletal adverse effects and serum 25 hydroxy (OH) vitamin D levels in patients with acne vulgaris.

NCT ID: NCT04203589 Completed - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

Explorer Babies Early Intervention Program

Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Premature babies have a high risk of adverse developmental outcomes. Early intervention approaches are applied to reduce these adverse outcomes or support of developmental delay. Early intervention approaches may vary depending on developmental priorities. While some early intervention methods can consider body structured findings such as posture, tonus, muscle power, others may consider coaching family, enrichment of the environment. The explorer baby program is developed based on the trial and error process. The program tries to find an answer to a unique question: "how trial behavior in infants can be increased and which behaviors of the infants should be supported to increase their trial process?" The Explorer baby program tries to increase exploratory motor behaviors to facilitate development. For this aim, the program tries to explain how a baby learns new skills such as rolling, sitting, babbling, playing peek a boo, etc. in all domains of development while the baby lives in their natural environment. This study aims to investigate the effect of the explorer baby early intervention program.
