The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of game-based virtual reality exercise added to conventional physiotherapy and rehabilitation program in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In order to evaluate its effectiveness, assessment of pain, range of motion and disability will be applied.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the serious diseases with a high prevalence and mortality, which adversely affects the quality of life, and is expected to rank third in the global burden of disease in 2020. Although the primary pathophysiology of the disease is pulmonary, it is emphasized that extrapulmonary involvement and comorbid conditions adversely affect the severity and prognosis of the disease. In the treatment guidelines for COPD, extrapulmonary systems and symptoms should also be evaluated. In this context, the number of studies on the effects of postural stability, balance and fall has increased recently, especially in COPD patients. Although the efficacy of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in COPD is well defined, it provides minimal gains in postural control and balance. Alternative therapies are needed to improve postural stability, balance and fall in COPD patients. Body Awareness Therapy (BAQ) is an alternative method developed by French exercise instructor and psychotherapist Jacques Dropsy in the early 1970s following the emergence of the concept of body awareness, adapted to rehabilitation programs by Swedish and Norwegian physiotherapists. Traditional physiotherapy methods are the basis of BAQ. In the treatment, sensory stimulation and movement quality, rhythm, coordination, breathing, relaxation, balance, coordination and proprioceptive exercises give more space. In the literature, BAQ decreases pain, fatigue, eating and sleep problems in chronic musculoskeletal or rheumatic pain, coronary artery disease and neurological patient groups. It is seen to increase the quality of exercise, coordination, balance, postural control, quality of life and the integration between mind-body. Movement awareness and mind-body-behavior interaction developed in BAQ can help regulate emotional, mental, social and behavioral factors that affect health. In addition to improving coping skills and cognitive behaviors among COPD patients, it can contribute to positive gains in better movement, respiratory control and balance. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of BAQ, which is integrated into 8-week pulmonary rehabilitation sessions, on postural stability, balance and fall conditions.
Prebiotics and probiotics are thought to play a role in appetite control and body weight regulation; but little is known about this topic. This study was planned to examine the effects of inulin and Lactobacillus casei 431 on short and long term fasting, satiety, dietary intake, and serum hunger and satiety hormone levels. The study consisted of 2 phases. In the first phase, a double-blind, randomized, crossover study design was used, and it was performed with 16 healthy male participants aged 19-30 years. In this phase, the prebiotic (200mL milk+16g inulin), probiotic (200mL milk + Lactobacillus casei 431 [>106 cfu/mL]+16g maltodextrin), synbiotic (200mL milk+16g inulin + Lactobacillus casei 431 [>106 cfu/mL]) and control (200mL milk+16g maltodextrin) test drinks were consumed with a standard breakfast on four separate test days by one week intervals, and their effects on dietary intake, hunger, satiety and appetite were assessed. The second phase was performed with 21 healthy male participants aged 19-30 years, using a placebo-controlled double-blind, randomized study design. Participants consumed the control (200mL milk+16g maltodextrin) or synbiotic (200mL milk+16g inulin+ Lactobacillus casei [>106 cfu/mL]) test drinks for 21 days with their habitual diet. At the beginning and end of the intervention, blood samples were collected at 0., 30., 60. and 120. minutes following the test day protocol to analyse serum glucose, insulin, ghrelin, obestatin and PYY (peptide tyrosine tyrosine) levels. In addition, dietary intake, hunger, satiety and appetite of participants were compared.
The objective of this study was to examine the effect of music intervention in the before-intravitreal injection (IVTI) and during-IVTI periods on patients' anxiety, the sensation of pain, physiological variables, satisfaction, and surgeon-patient cooperation. The study used a randomized controlled experimental design. The study was conducted with a total of three groups: two experimental (Before-IVTI (Group1) and During-IVTI music intervention group (Group 2)) and one control group. Each of the experimental and control groups consisted of 75 patients. The patients' anxiety was evaluated using the VAS anxiety scale, pain using the VAS pain scale; surgeon-patient cooperation using the Numeric Rating Scale; and patient satisfaction with a 5-point likert-type satisfaction scale.
Patients who underwent surgery for diabetic foot were divided into three groups: sciatic nerve block (Group B), continuous nerve catheter (Group C) . Group B patients underwent preoperative popliteal ultrasound guided peripheral nerve blockage. 20 ml of 0.25% bupivacaine was administered. In Group C patients, 20% bupivacaine 20 ml was applied to the sciatic nerve with a peripheral nerve catheter and continuous infusion was started with patient controlled analgesia device.
Effective cleaning of surfaces in the hospital environment is an absolute necessity to reduce pathogen transmission. Multi Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) in ICU are among the leading causes of hospital-acquired infections. Today, the growing prevalence of MDRO has made it more important than ever to clean contaminated surfaces with appropriate aseptic cleaning procedures, to protect patients and personnel. Despite the disinfection and sterilization methods, microorganisms that reach a sufficient concentration in the hospital environment survive for long periods and can cause serious transmission via contaminated hands of healthcare workers. In this context, surface cleaning and disinfection procedures in the hospital environment reduce cross-contamination of the health care units and disease-causing pathogens. Recently, environmental cleaning and disinfection have become important as well as the evaluation of cleanliness. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of BCA method, which is a new approach in evaluating the effectiveness of environmental cleanliness in intensive care units. fluoroscan gel marking, microbiological sampling and BCA assay methods will be compared to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of the BCA method. Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is one of the major disorder of the pediatric population with an incidence of 3 to 5 per 1000 children. Open surgical reduction of congenital hip dislocation (CHD) is typically performed after an ineffective closed reduction or older than 18 months. Multiple femoral or pelvic osteotomies and tenotomies are performed during this surgical treatment and cause severe postoperative pain. Pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block has been recently recommended for use as postoperative analgesia in hip surgeries. It is a new regional anesthesia method based on blocking the articular branches of femoral nerve (FN) and accessory obturator nerve (AON) in the region between the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) and iliopubic eminence (IPE).The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic effect of ultrasound guided pediatric pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block in pediatric patients undergoing CHD surgery.

As a randomized study, this study aimed to investigate the effects of classical massage and connective tissue massage on pain, flexibility, disability, quality of life and autonomic responses in patients with chronic mechanical low back pain. The primary evaluation parameter of the study is autonomic function and the secondary evaluation parameter is pain. The participants will be treated accompanied with same physiotherapist along four weeks and five days in a week. A six-week follow-up will be performed to see how long the effect of the treatment continues.
