Comparison of Proprioceptive Sensory and Physical Fitness Levels of Professional Folk Dancers and Sedantery Individuals

The aim of this study was to evaluate the proprioceptive sense and physical fitness parameters of professional folk dancers and to compare the results with sedentary healthy individuals with the same age and physical characteristics. Individuals, professional folk dancers and sedentary healthy individuals with the same age and physical characteristics will be divided into two groups, both groups will be evaluated on the effects of proprioceptive sense, physical fitness parameters.All measurements will be performed bilaterally and only force and proprioceptive measurements will be taken from the dominant lower extremity.All assessments will be performed by the same physiotherapist.

To investigate the effectiveness of neck and trunk stabilization exercises on communication and quality of life (QoL) in children with cerebral palsy (CP) with oral motor problems. Children with CP were randomly divided into Study Group (SG) and Control Group (CG). Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) approaches and oral motor therapy were applied to both groups. SG also received neck-trunk stabilization training.

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is widely used in the treatment of urinary tract stones and is generally applied to outpatients. To achieve fragmentation in ESWL, shock waves must be applied with sufficient power and time. Providing effective analgesia during this procedure is crucial to the success of the procedure. Erector Spinae Plan Block (ESPB) was first described in 2016 and, it is frequently used for postoperative analgesia in urinary system surgery. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of ESPB in patients undergoing ESWL.

A comparison of two pain control methods - the combination of Adductor Canal Block (ACB)/Infiltration of the interspace between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the posterior knee (IPACK) versus the Periarticular Injection (PAI)/ Infiltration of the interspace between the popliteal artery and the capsule of the posterior knee (IPACK) - in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. dexketoprofen and paracetamol will be added to both groups and multimodal analgesia will be applied. Primary outcome is NRS pain scores with ambulation on postoperative day one (24 hours post-block administration).

Diagnostic Contribution of Ultrasonography in Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It is an important health problem that has been increasingly encountered in recent years. With advances in treatment, the survival time after breast cancer is prolonged, and as a result, many women face certain diseases during this period. One of these diseases, breast cancer-related lymphedema, is characterized by abnormal accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the interstitial tissue, which can occur at any time after breast cancer surgery or radiotherapy and is a major cause of morbidity.Early and accurate diagnosis of lymphedema is very important for effective treatment. In routine clinical practice there are various methods used to diagnose lymphedema such as history, physical examination and limb circumference. Circumferential measurement is based on the principle of circumference measurement at certain intervals (such as 4 cm, 5 cm, 10 cm) from certain anatomical reference points on the extremities. Volume calculation can also be made from a data obtained from circumferential measurements via a computer program. Circumferential and volume measurements are used in the diagnosis, severity of lymphedema and follow-up of treatment. Although it is the most commonly used method in practice, circumferential measurements and volume measurements alone can ignore changes in tissue structure and significant changes in the presence of latent lymphedema. At the same time, circumferential measurements are made at regular intervals and the difference between the healthy side and 2 cm or more is considered as lymphedema, which may neglect tissue and edema changes in areas not in the measuring area. Ultrasonography, which has been used in the measurement and evaluation of lymphedema in recent years, is a noninvasive economic method. Skin and subcutaneous distance in lymphedema can be measured by ultrasonography, and changes in tissue structure, fibrous tissue, adipose tissue and muscle tissue can be demonstrated. Fibrotic changes in lymphedema tissue play a key role in progression. Subcutaneous ultrasound echogenicity (SEG), which is thought to be a measure of lymphedema severity in extremities, was determined as stages 0, 1 and 2. According to this; Stage 0: No increase in echogenicity in the subcutaneous layer. That is, the subcutaneous fat layer is observed as black. Stage 1: Diffuse increase in echogenicity, but identifiable horizontal or oblique-focused echogenic lines caused by bundles of connective tissue may be seen. In this study, the investigators aimed to determine the correlation between circumferential measurements and skin and subcutaneous tissue ultrasonography in breast cancer-related lymphedema patients.The primer aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between circumferential measurements and ultrasonographic measurements in breast cancer-related lymphedema. The secondary aim is to investigate the relationship among the changes in subcutaneous tissue structure (subcutaneous ultrasound echogenicity degree-SEG) and lymphedema severity in breast cancer-related lymphedema.

Erector Spinae Plane Block vs Transforaminal Epidural Injection

Lumbar disc herniation is the main cause of low back pain and radicular leg pain. Steroids administered to the epidural area reduce the inflammatory response and pain by inhibiting the synthesis of proinflammatory agents. Epidural steroid injections are used in the treatment of lumbosacral radicular pain with various techniques including fluoroscopy-guided transforaminal and interlaminar injection. Ultrasound-guided erector spina plan block (ESPB) was first described in 2016 and has been used for postoperative analgesia in many surgeries including thoracic and lumbar dermatomes. The distribution of local anesthesia in the ESPB from the paravertebral area to the transforaminal and epidural space has been shown in studies. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of ultrasound-guided ESPB and fluoroscopic guided transforaminal epidural steroid injection in chronic discogenic low back pain.

Quadratus Lumborum Block for Congenital Hip Dislocation Surgery

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is one of the major disorder of the pediatric population with an incidence of 3 to 5 per 1000 children. Open surgical reduction of congenital hip dislocation (CHD) is typically performed after an ineffective closed reduction or older than 18 months. Multiple femoral or pelvic osteotomies and tenotomies are performed during this surgical treatment and cause severe postoperative pain.Since initial description for abdominal surgery, the quadratus lumborum block has experienced several surgeries for postoperative pain management in adults and pediatrics. One of these indication is the hip surgery and described for adult hip arthroplasty. In addition we reported two pediatric cases that single dose transmuscular quadratus lumborum block is an affective analgesia for CHD surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic effect of ultrasound guided transmuscular quadratus lumborum block in pediatric patients undergoing CHD surgery.
