There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Chiari Malformation (CM) is a posterior brain anomaly caused by the displacement of the brain stem and cerebellum into the cervical spinal canal. There are 8 types of Chiari malformations described today that vary according to the severity of the anomaly. In CM Type 1, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation deteriorated along with the foramen magnum and the cerebellar tonsillar decreased to at least 5 mm below the foramen magnum. Depending on this situation, headache, cerebellar findings, muscle strength, and sensory loss and so on. and adversely affect the daily life of the patient. When establishing an exercise program for the symptoms of CM type 1, it should be taken into consideration that somatosensory, visual, vestibular system and cerebellum are in close relationship with each other and balance and coordination result from this close relationship. When the literature is reviewed for exercise programs aimed at reducing instability in the cervical region, it is seen that 80% of the stability of the cervical spine originates from the muscular system and its importance in the treatment process is being investigated more and more day by day. However, no randomized controlled study was performed on these subjects. This study was planned to investigate the effects of two different exercise programs on pain, balance, coordination, proprioception, functional capacity, body posture, daily life activities and quality of life. The study was planned to involve at least 20 individuals with CM Type 1 who were not surgical indications in the 18-65 age range. The study was designed as a randomized, self-controlled study. Demographic data and characteristics of the subjects who meet the inclusion criteria and agree to participate in the study will be recorded at the beginning of the study. Patients will be evaluated in two different time periods. The first evaluations will be performed on the first day when patients are referred to rehabilitation by the physician. Following this assessment, all patients will be assigned numbers, which will be divided into two groups using a simple randomization method in the form of drawing lots. A total of 18 sessions 3 times a week for six weeks, the first group will receive symptomatic exercise program and the second group will focus on the deep muscles in the cervical region, especially the stabilizer, and a "Motor learning-based" exercise program that includes gradual control of these muscles. After 6 weeks, the first evaluations will be repeated in both groups.
Circumcision is a common procedure in infants, children and young people around the world for cultural, religious or medical reasons. Since this is a painful procedure, it is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. It is recommended to perform this procedure under local anesthesia if there is no risk. Although local anesthesia is used during the procedure, pain and anxiety levels of children may increase. Distraction methods are commonly used and effective methods to reduce pain and anxiety during painful procedures. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of tablet playing during circumcision on pain and anxiety in school age children.
This study aimed to determine the effects of neuromobilization techniques and conservative rehabilitation therapy on pain, grip strength, and functional status in patients with lateral epicondylitis (LE). A total of 40 patients (26 females and 14 males; age: 42.80 ± 8.91 years) with a history of LE participated in the study. The patients were randomly assigned to two groups: the neuromobilization group and the control group. The neuromobilization group completed a 6-week conservative rehabilitation and radial nerve mobilization program, whereas the control group received conservative rehabilitation therapy only. Both groups underwent a 7-day weekly conservative home rehabilitation program. Pain severity, grip strength, pinch strength, joint mobility, and upper extremity functional level were assessed before treatment, at the third week, after treatment, and at the sixth week after treatment.
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women worldwide according to International Agency for Research on Cancer. Unfortunately, cancer survivors often face long-term symptoms that occur or persist after completion of treatment. In addition to fatigue, pain is the most common persistent symptom after cancer and cancer treatment. The diagnosis and treatment of pain in cancer survivors is not clear for many physicians. A mechanism-based classification of pain in cancer survivors might be a critical step for clinical reasoning, especially for discrimination of different pain types. The primary aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of the predominant type of pain in Turkish breast cancer survivors using a recent published clinical algorithm.
This study investigated the effects of reformer pilates exercises in Fibromyalgia, which is a chronic musculoskeletal disease characterized by widespread pain in the body, on number of painful regions, disease activity, lower extremity muscle strength, functional mobility, balance, kinesophobia, fatigue, sleep quality, biopsychosocial status and quality of life and compared effects of clinical pilates-based home pilates which is performed on a mat.
In intensive care unit (ICU) patients, the ability to predict delirium may help reduce its incidence, duration, and severity. The PREdiction of DELIRium in ICU (PRE-DELIRIC) model was recently developed for this purpose. Our aim was to test the PRE-DELIRIC model in the medical ICU.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of median nerve neuromobilization on median nerve elasticity using shear wave elastography. Methods: The study included 36 healthy volunteers (72 upper extremities) aged 18-30 years. Inclusion criteria; no known systemic neuromuscular and metabolic diseases, no nerve impingement syndrome, and no upper extremity bone-tendon-muscle surgery in the last six months. Sociodemographic data of the participants were recorded. Wrist flexion and extension bilaterally with universal goniometer and finger grip strength bilaterally were measured with pinchmeter. Median Nerve Stress Test was performed. Median nerve elasticity was measured by Shear Wave Ultrasound Elastography. The extremity of the dominant side as a study group and the non-dominant side as a control group were measured bilaterally. Median nerve neuromobilization (stretching (n = 18) and shifting (n = 18)) was applied to the upper extremities of the dominant side. The application was carried out as 3 sets in one session. Evaluations were repeated after application.

This is a prospective, non-drug epidemological cohort study aimed to investigate the relatives of these cases with CTX-specific gene mutation and clinical features of CTX disease over CTX index cases diagnosed with CTX disease throughout the clinics in Turkey. Relatives included in the study (relatives of CTX index cases) will be taken into clinical and genetic evaluation. Relatives will not receive any experimental intervention or treatment because of their participation in the study. Therefore, this study does not include a treatment protocol or does not have a predetermined visit flow chart. However, relatives of CTX index cases should give consent to genetic testing.
Pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) is a chronic inflammation and infection of the sacrococcygeal region. Produces clinic findings with abscess and discharge in the sacrococcygeal region or painful sinus tract in the natal cleft. Its incidence rate among Turkish servicemen is reported to be 8.8% in a study. Although pilonidal sinus disease is common in men, this is the opposite in adolescence. Because adolescent girls are 2 or 3 times more. Karydakis flap and Limberg flap operations widely preferred in recent years in the surgical treatment of PSD. In our study, we aim to compare these two techniques prospectively and randomly.
