There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
It was aimed to evaluate the effects of aerobic exercise and resistance exercises performed together with aerobic exercise, applied in the concept of green exercise with a multidisciplinary team (specialist doctors physiotherapists, nurses) on senior fitness, aerobic capacity and IC in individuals aged 65 and over.
the effectiveness of structured exercise training will be investigated for individuals with MS who are newly diagnosed and have no clinical problems. Individuals with MS included in the study will be randomly divided into two groups a Structured Exercise Group (SEG) and a Control Group (CG). In order to compare baseline and follow-up data, the Healthy Group (HG) will be taken and all three groups will be evaluated initially, 8. weeks and 24. weeks with primary and secondary outcome measurements. SEG, CG, and HG will be evaluated initially for postural sway, muscle strength, mobility, dexterity, cognitive function, trunk strength-endurance, and fatigue. Afterward, SEG will receive structured exercise training consisting of clinically supervised aerobic exercise and resistance training on unstable surfaces for 8 weeks, 2 days a week, with a minimum session duration of 60 minutes. Stretching and mobility exercises will be added to warm up and cool down before and after the program. CG will be on the waiting list during this process. At the end of 8 weeks, both groups will be reassessed with their initial assessment. After the 8-week program, the SEG physical activity recommendation will be given and the KG group will continue on the waiting list, and a follow-up evaluation will be made in the 24th week. This study will allow the comparison of newly diagnosed individuals with MS who do not have any physical or cognitive effects on neurological examination and healthy controls with objective and detailed evaluations, and will also reveal the evidence on the effects of planned structured exercises specific to individuals with newly diagnosed MS. During the 24-week follow-up period, the change in the clinical status of individuals with MS who received or did not receive any exercise training can be interpreted.
The aim of our study is to examine the relationship between the parameters affecting the pelvic floor and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) functionality and to emphasize the necessity of investigating combined and coordinated exercise approaches in the treatment of dysfunctions that may occur in both specific regions. Our study, which is planned as an epidemiological research, will include 59 women between the ages of 20-50, who applied to the Istanbul Research and Training Hospital, Gynecology and Obstetrics Polyclinic, and volunteered to participate in the study. Assessments include pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic floor muscle activation, sacroiliac joint mobility, pelvis position, and pain for pelvic floor functionality; temporomandibular joint dysfunction, masseter muscle activation, temporomandibular joint range of motion, position of the mandible and pain for temporomandibular joint funstionlaity; strength of the muscles located on the deep anterior line and thought to be related, flexibility, myofascial trigger points and depression level for mediating factors affecting functionality. After the data are completed, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test will be applied to determine whether the data fit the normal distribution before starting the statistical analysis. Pearson Correlation test will be applied between dependent variables, independent variables and mediating factors in case the data show normal distribution, and Spearman Correlation test will be applied if it does not show normal distribution. Significance value will be determined as p<0.05, correlation coefficient between variables r: 0-0.46 (weak); r: 0.5-0.74 (medium); r: will be interpreted as 0.75-1.0 (strong).
Intensive care units (ICUs) aim to provide specialized care for patients with high morbidity and mortality risks. To effectively identify patients requiring urgent diagnosis and treatment, various scoring systems have been developed, including APACHE-II. However, these systems primarily focus on evaluating organ dysfunction and do not consider the patient's nutritional status or the role of inflammation. Recent studies have highlighted the crucial role of inflammation in patient outcomes, emphasizing the need to incorporate inflammatory parameters into scoring systems for accurate prognosis prediction. Additionally, nutritional status upon ICU admission has been largely overlooked in current scoring systems, despite its significant impact on patient outcomes. Malnourished patients have higher risks of complications, prolonged hospital stays, and increased mortality rates. Adequate nutrition supports immune function, tissue repair, and the response to therapeutic interventions, ultimately minimizing complications. Integrating nutritional assessment into existing scoring systems allows for early identification of malnourished patients and timely interventions, improving overall care quality in the ICU. Considering the importance of inflammation and nutritional status, this study aims to develop a new scoring system by adding inflammatory and nutritional parameters to APACHE II score. This comprehensive approach holds promise for enhancing patient outcomes, accurately evaluating clinical severity, and facilitating immediate interventions in critical care settings.
With the medicalization of midwifery care; It has been reported that the autonomy of midwives is reduced, and their relationships with care and care recipients are under threat. For this reason, the midwife had to move away from the concept of being with the woman and face the ideology of being with the institution. In this context, it is thought that there is a need for care models that enable the midwife and woman to work in cooperation. It is thought that establishing a collaborative relationship based on the partnership model between the midwife and the pregnant will be possible with the continuity of care. There are studies in the literature showing that the continuity of midwifery care has positive results at birth. However, no study has been found regarding the partnership or cooperation of the midwife with the pregnant woman during delivery with standards. It is thought that this research to be conducted has a unique value in terms of meeting the need for scientific information on the effect of midwife-pregnant cooperation on birth experience and birth satisfaction. In the study, continuous midwifery care will be given to pregnant women during delivery based on midwife-pregnant cooperation in line with the midwifery care model checklist. It is thought that this midwifery care given during birth will positively affect the birth experience and birth satisfaction.
The goal of this observational study is to investigate whether the density of Demodex mites is higher in psoriasis patients treated with biologic agents compared to treatment-naive or topically treated patients. The main question[s]it aims to answer are: - Are Demodex mites higher in psoriasis patients treated with biologic agents? - In which localization and with what intensity was demodicosis most common? Participants will be assessed using standardized skin surface biopsy technique in four localization on their face . Researchers will compare demodex intensity per cm² to see if the biologic treatments effects demodex intensity on psoriasis patients.
Jugular vein collapsibility index and shock indices (Shock index, Modified Shock Index, Diastolic Shock Index) may be useful in estimating post spinal hypotension in cesarean section operations. Evaluation on the accuracy and effectiveness of these indices can contribute to the early diagnosis and management of hypotension. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of shock indices in predicting the possibility of post spinal hypotension in cesarean section operations.
This is a Phase III open-label study to assess if camizestrant improves outcomes compared to standard adjuvant endocrine therapy for patients with ER+/HER2- early breast cancer with intermediate-high or high risk for disease recurrence who completed definitive locoregional therapy (with or without chemotherapy). The planned duration of treatment in either arm within the study will be 7 years.
The goal of this randomized controlled single blinded study is to compare the effect of the type of anesthesia on gastrointestinal motility in patients scheduled for laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. The main question it aims to answer is how do inhalation anesthesia and total intravenous anesthesia effect the gastrointestinal peristalsis during anastomosis. Participants will be American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) physical status II and III, between 18- 60 ages. Researchers will compare inhalation anesthesia where desflurane is used with total intravenous anesthesia to see if the gastrointestinal motility differs between the groups.
The basis of this project is the application of cathodal tDCS in patients with drug-resistant focal epilepsy including patients whose seizures persist after epilepsy surgery, who rejected epilepsy surgery, and/or who are not suitable for surgery. For this purpose, 5-day consecutive cathodal electrical stimulation sessions will be used with personalized electrode montage according to the patient's seizure focus. In this context, the changes in seizures frequency and epileptic discharges will be examined for the first week and 12th week after the tDCS sessions through the seizure diary of the patients and the electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings to be taken. In addition, changes in cognitive functions, mood, and quality of life will be examined in patients after the intervention.
