There are about 1039 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Slovenia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Primary Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of alirocumab (75 or 150 milligrams [mg] depending on body weight [BW]), administered every 2 weeks (Q2W), on low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels at Week 12 of treatment in children and adolescents with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (hoFH) of 8 to 17 years of age on top of background treatments. Secondary Objectives: - To evaluate the efficacy of alirocumab after 24 and 48 weeks of treatment on LDL-C levels. - To evaluate the effects of alirocumab on other lipid parameters (eg, apolipoprotein B [Apo B], non-high density lipoprotein cholesterol [non-HDL-C], total cholesterol [Total-C], high density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-C], lipoprotein a [Lp (a)], triglycerides [TG], apolipoprotein A-1 [Apo A-1] levels) after 12, 24, and 48 weeks of treatment. - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of alirocumab up to 48 weeks of treatment.
The aims of this study are to examine the differences in the quality of life among individuals with type 1 diabetes and individuals without chronic diseases, differences in the quality of life among men and women with type 1 diabetes and the differences in the quality of life among individuals with good and poor glycaemic control. The relationship between personality traits and the management of disease in patients with type 1 diabetes will also be examined.
The objective of the study is to determine whether administration of vitamin C (1.5g/6 hours) in the first three days post-partum reduces the amount of extravascular lung water assessed by lung ultrasound in patients with severe preeclampsia.
This is a study to explore the effect of oral ozanimod as an induction treatment for participants with moderately to severely active Crohn's Disease.
The beneficial analgesic effects of Rubefacenciae (redden skin substances), is known since 1830 as a treatment for pain, cramps, and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Herbal cataplasms containing rubefacient substances, such as Cayenne pepper, are commonly used as natural medications to treat painful or aching areas in the case of acute or chronic back pain, and rheumatisms. In Vienna and lower Austria, a Cayenne Pepper Cataplasm (CPC) application containing Cayenne pepper and Kaolin powder in mixed proportion, is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal conditions of pain especially of the low back. However, a concern about the safety of such applications was recently raised. Therefore, the aims of the present study are to evaluate the effects of 10x 20min CP cataplasm application as a single treatment or in combination with electrical stimulation and massage on selected functional and molecular parameters on i) healthy subjects and ii) subjects suffering from low back pain.
The study will investigate the effect of structural training program and body composition on injury occurrence in hip-hop dance. Assuming that training program can significantly lower the number of injuries (experimental group will have less injuries during and at the end of the trial) and that body fat percentage negatively effects injury occurrence (dancers with higher body fat percentage will be more often injured).
The aim of this study is to assess whether preventive substrate ablation of chronic total occlusion infarct-related artery (CTO-IRA) area in heart failure (HF) patients correlates with lower appropriate implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) therapies. In addition, the purpose of the study is to determine whether prophylactic substrate ablation at the time of primary ICD implantation in high-risk ischemic patients affects unplanned hospitalization, HF progression, and quality of life.
Prospective, single-arm, multi-center, interventional post-market study. After signing informed consent, eligible subjects will be implanted with the CE marked Evolut™ PRO system. The investigation purpose is to evaluate the acute and long term clinical performance and safety of Evolut™ PRO in a routine hospital setting in patients with symptomatic native aortic valve stenosis or a stenosed, insufficient, or combined surgical bioprosthetic valve failure necessitating valve replacement within the approved intended use in local geography.
Physical readiness of military personnel is a cornerstone of any army, as soldiers are expected to meet high physical demands on a daily basis, and soldiers must complete one hour of physical conditioning each day. Participation in physical conditioning increases the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, and our 10-year retrospective analysis shows that 5% of soldiers sustain a sports injury during physical conditioning each year, and that ankle and knee injuries have the highest incidence rates of 25% and 20%, respectively. The primary objective of our study is to decrease the rate of ankle and knee injuries by implementing a preventive training program. The study is designed as a prospective randomized controlled trial with two arms (experimental and control).
