This was an observational, prospective, multicentric study conducted in a cohort of subjects with type 2 diabetes and prescribed with Glucophage XR therapy from hospitals or clinics in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. Glucophage XR is being used in the Asia Pacific region for the treatment of subjects with type 2 diabetes. This study was designed to provide information on the day to-day experience of using Glucophage XR in the management of subjects with type 2 diabetes and its use in routine clinical practice in Asia Pacific region.

This is a multicentric, prospective, observational study on the use of Cetrotide to control the endogenous gonadotrophin levels in Gonal-f stimulated ART treatment cycles in the Asia-Pacific region. The study plans to enrol approximately 1800-2000 subjects over a 9-month period at each participating centre. This observational study is initiated to collect information on the use of Cetrotide (GnRH antagonist) in ART cycles in routine practice across the Asia-Pacific region. The information will allow a better understanding of the current ovarian stimulation regimens that involve Cetrotide in the control of the endogenous gonadotrophin concentrations. The collection of live birth data, though a challenging task, as a secondary endpoint will allow the study to show valuable information on the final objective of ART. To minimize the potential variability due to the different ovarian stimulation agents, the study is to include cycles treated with Gonal-f (recombinant human FSH) since this agent is widely available in the region.

Vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency is common in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and is associated with elevated parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentration and mineral and bone disorder (MBD). There is also increasing evidence to show that these abnormalities increase cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in CKD patients. There is a need for early identification of vitamin D insufficiency/deficiency in CKD patients to prevent its long-term complications. However, the vitamin D status of CKD patients in Singapore has not been well described. The purpose of this study is to assess the vitamin D status of predialysis CKD patients in a tertiary academic teaching hospital in Singapore, and its association with parameters for MBD. Predialysis patients from the outpatient renal clinic at the National University Hospital (NUH) will be recruited into this study. Blood samples from the patients will be collected after an overnight fast to determine their serum 25(OH)D, creatinine, phosphorus, calcium, albumin and i-PTH concentrations. These parameters will be compared among patients in various stages of CKD.
