This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2 doses of Avastin in combination with docetaxel, versus docetaxel plus placebo, in patients with metastatic HER2 negative breast cancer who are candidates for taxane-based chemotherapy but who have not received prior chemotherapy for metastatic disease. The anticipated time on treatment is 1-2 years and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
The purpose of this clinical study is to determine the effectiveness, pharmacokinetics and safety of several doses of BIRT 2584 XX (100mg, 300mg and 500mg) taken once daily in the treatment of moderate to severe plaque-type psoriasis. This is a research study of a new experimental drug called darusentan. Darusentan is not currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the United States, which means that a doctor cannot prescribe this drug. The purpose of this study is to determine if darusentan is effective in reducing systolic blood pressure in subjects with resistant systolic hypertension, despite treatment with full doses of three or more antihypertensive drugs, including a diuretic.
