Effects of Verb Network Strengthening Treatment (VNeST) Via Telerehabilitation on Word Finding in Post-stroke Aphasia.

Despite evidence showing that speech and language intervention may improve language and communication abilities in people with acquired language disorders (aphasia), there is still need for evidence for which types of therapy are effective. Further, to improve accessibility of care, there is increasing need for evidence of intervention effects when therapy is provided online, via telerehabilitation. Therefore, the project aims at evaluating the effects of telerehabilitation with a specific speech-language therapy intervention for improving word-finding in individuals with aphasia due to stroke. The intervention Verb Network Strengthening Treatment (VNeST) trains word finding at sentence level, and the treatment effect is expected to generalize to the production of connected speech.

The Effectiveness of A-CRA in Compulsory Institutional Care for Youth

Youth with substance use disorder (SUD) and socially disruptive behaviour (such as criminality) who are placed in compulsory institutional care are at high risk of continuing a destructive lifestyle into adulthood. There is a pressing need for effective treatment for this group, yet studies are scarce. The empirically supported SUD treatment Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach, A-CRA, promotes long-term abstinence, increases social stability and decreases co-morbid psychiatric problems for youth ages 12-25. A-CRA is proven to be one of the most effective SUD treatments for youth but has only been evaluated in outpatient care. Given A-CRA's promising results for youth in vulnerable living situations, it is a reasonable treatment to adjust and evaluate in compulsory care. The main objectives are to evaluate the effectiveness of A-CRA, the short- and long-term effects on social-, emotional- and problem behavior and substance use, for youth placed in compulsory institutional care.

Digital Versus Telephone Symptom Assessment and Triage in Primary Care

A 'digital-first' approach is currently under implementation in several Swedish regions. The principles behind implementing an online service as an access way to primary care are based on an expectation that it can make access easier, direct people to appropriate levels of care, and increase both availability of heath care and cost efficiency. However, a recent Swedish report concluded that digital triage in primary care has not been investigated in a clinical real-world setting, including real patients, meaning that the benefits and risks for patients as well as on a system level remain unclear. The aim of this trial is to study the feasibility of a larger trial that will compare digital triage and traditional telephone triage on adherence to triaged health care level, in a randomized controlled study (feasibility study, RCT). The study will recruit a total of 120 patients, of which half will be randomized to telephone triage and half to digital triage.

A Study to Evaluate the Safety of KAND567, in Combination With Carboplatin Therapy, in Women With Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer

The study is a multicenter, Phase Ib/IIa, open-label, dose-escalation study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of orally administered KAND567 in combination with carboplatin therapy, and to determine the Recommended Phase II Dose (RPIID) of KAND567 in combination with carboplatin in subjects with recurrent platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. In Part 1, dose escalation will be based on the recommendation of the Safety Review Committee (SRC) after review of the emerging safety and tolerability information. Once the RPIID has been identified in Part 1, the SRC may recommend to the Sponsor to start Part 2. An expansion cohort will be enrolled in Part 2 of the study to further evaluate the RPIID (approximately 20 subjects; may range from 6 to 24 subjects, depending on Part 1). If the number of subjects with confirmed CX3CR1 expression in tumor cells is below 50%, an additional 15 subjects may be included in Part 2 of the study.

Nasal Allergen Challenge Test as a Method to Detect Clinical Reactivity Against Birch Pollen

Clinical efficacy and tolerability for allergen specific immunotherapy (AIT) with Itulazax (birch pollen extract tablet) is well established. Allergen challenges are used by clinicians to confirm correct diagnosis and by researchers to evaluate the efficacy of different interventions, eg. AIT. The challenge is performed by using a specific controlled administration schedule of an allergen product in the shock organ (nose, eye, or airway) and then monitor the result. Nasal Allergen Challenge (NAC) is the most common allergen challenge used. Aquagen SQ (birch pollen extract) has since decades been golden standard for this purpose, but production of this product ended 2019. Clinicians as well as researchers are now in need for an alternative product. To evaluate a new method for NAC would be of value from a clinical- and research perspective. From a Nordic perspective a NAC study with dissolved Itulazax would be of special interest since birch allergy is a dominant allergen in the region. In a recently published article it was shown that dissolved Grazax and Aquagen Phleum pratense gave comparable result used in grass allergic patients. Therefore, it seems reasonable to assume that the same method could be used with dissolved Itulazax. The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate the feasibility of nasal allergen challenge tests with dissolved Itulazax tablets. The main benefit of this proposal is that the allergen composition of the provocation test product is the same as the final product to be treated with. This is likely to increase the treatment motivation of the patient. In addition, the dissolving process is easier for the physician compared to the dissolving of the previously used Aquagen.

The overall aim with the project is to evaluate if a digital patient group-education can reduce kinesiophobia and promote physical activity in patients with myocardial infarction (MI) and/or atrial fibrillation (AF) Research questions 1. Can a digital patient group-education reduce kinesiophobia and promote PA in patients with MI and/or AF? 2. Is a digital patient group-education feasible based on the patients' experiences? Intervention: Patients with MI and/or AF and kinesiophobia meet 7 times in a group education via Zoom® video meetings with a tutor (nurse, physiotherapist) for 8 weeks and learn about PA, kinesiophobia, AF and/or CAD. The education involves four real life scenarios as a starting point for the learning process inspired by problem-based learning, live stream/recorded lectures/resource, behavioral activation and exposure to PA in order to reduce kinesiophobia and promote PA.

The goal of this observational study is to translate the COMM (Current opinion misuse measure) form and validate it using the ASI-SR (Addiction severity score-self report)in a Swedish population of pain patients treated with opioids. The secondary aim is to investigate acceptability of the instrument in a Swedish population of pain patients with long-term opioid treatment (LOT). The tertiary aim is to investigate the prevalence of alcohol and illicit substance use in a Swedish population of pain patients with LOT.
