There are about 1320 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Saudi Arabia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is investigating how Mim8 works compared to other medicines in people with haemophilia A, who either have inhibitors or do not have inhibitors. Mim8 is a new medicine that will be used for prevention of bleeding episodes. Mim8 works by replacing the function of the missing clotting factor VIII (FVIII). When and how often participants will receive Mim8 is dependent on their previous treatment - but is otherwise decided by chance. Mim8 will be injected into a skinfold on the stomach with a thin needle either once a week or once a month. The study will last 54-124 weeks (12-29 months) depending on how long participants will be followed in run-in before they start treatment and if they continue in the follow period or transfer to an open label extension study. Participants will have 12-17 clinic visits.
This study will help us in understanding the role of transdermal buprenorphine patch in reducing consumption of opioids in patients undergoing total knee replacement. The objective of our study is to investigate the role of preoperative TDB patch in reducing postoperative opioids consumption in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasties. Patients aged between 18 and 65years, scheduled to undergo total knee arthroplasty with an ASA score of 1 to 3 will be included in the study.
This clinical trial is a Phase 2/3 study that will determine the recommended dose of mitapivat and evaluate the efficacy and safety of mitapivat in sickle cell disease by testing how well mitapivat works compared to placebo to increase the amount of hemoglobin in the blood and to reduce or prevent the occurrence of sickle cell pain crises. In addition, the long-term effect of mitapivat on efficacy and safety will be explored in an open-label extension portion.
This phase III trial compares the safety and effect of adding vinorelbine to vincristine, dactinomycin, and cyclophosphamide (VAC) for the treatment of patients with high risk rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). High risk refers to cancer that is likely to recur (come back) after treatment or spread to other parts of the body. This study will also examine if adding maintenance therapy after VAC therapy, with or without vinorelbine, will help get rid of the cancer and/or lower the chance that the cancer comes back. Vinorelbine and vincristine are in a class of medications called vinca alkaloids. They work by stopping cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Dactinomycin is a type of antibiotic that is only used in cancer chemotherapy. It works by damaging the cell's deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and may kill cancer cells. Cyclophosphamide is in a class of medications called alkylating agents. It works by damaging the cell's DNA and may kill cancer cells. It may also lower the body's immune response. Vinorelbine, vincristine, dactinomycin and cyclophosphamide are chemotherapy medications that work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This trial may have the potential to eliminate rhabdomyosarcoma for a long time or for the rest of patient's life.
The objective of this non-interventional multicenter study is to provide prospective, observational data on patients initiating treatment with palbociclib combination to contribute to the knowledge of HR+ HER2-metastatic/locally advanced Breast Cancer (BC) disease management, its treatment pattern, clinical outcomes and quality of life (QoL) in the routine clinical practice in Africa and Middle East countries .
A study to translate and cross-culturally adapt the Exercise Adherence Rating Scale (EARS) into the Arabic language, and assess its psychometric properties.
This is a randomized controlled trial examining and compare the effects of open and closed kinetic chain exercises on pain, function, and cartilage synthesis and degradation biomarkers after an eight-week rehabilitation program for knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients.
Whilst obesity represents a key risk factor for the development of metabolic disease and further premature mortality, the actual type of diet may provide the 'primary insults' for inflammation affecting systemic health in the pre-diabetic state such as obesity. Specifically, previous data indicate that a high-fat diet and/or unfavorable systemic lipid profiles can impair metabolic health which may occur via inflammatory mechanisms. The study aims to conduct a randomized interventional dietary trial with Freeze-dried Kale, as a superfood, to reduce inflammation and improve lipid profile in patients with obesity. These studies will analyze the effects of this superfood on metabolic changes among obese and non-obese Saudi women. Our hypothesis is the inclusion of Brassica into the daily diet will significantly improve metabolic health, microbiota composition, lower inflammatory insults (inflammasome), and lower microbial translocation, with resulting improvements in metabolic health. The team, therefore, proposes to examine the impact of the superfood kale on lipid function (acute and medium-term) over a 4 week dietary intervention period to assess the influence on metabolic change and biomarker changes. The team intends to utilize the expertise from a broad spectrum of specialists from plant biologists, clinical and allied health care professionals, and translational scientists, to provide a unique holistic insight into the role of nutrition for metabolic health benefits in human participants. These studies will provide us with the capacity to use a directly applicable dietary supplement, freeze-dried Kale, to improve the health of people metabolically. As this is a natural product, this will have the capability to reach the market much quicker and advance research at a much faster pace. This dietary supplement will also provide an additional measure to improve the health across the general public not just those at increased risk of disease to help provide another way to improve health among Saudis.
This is a long term safety study for patients who have completed a Novartis sponsored asciminib study and are judged by the investigator to benefit from continued treatment
There is an urgent need to explore therapeutic options for SARS-CoV-2 in order to face the pandemic. The selected intervention was based on that zafirlukast will have dual effect; first it will block the virus replication through inhibiting the COVID19 helicase that is involved in virus replication and secondly by reducing the inflammation through antagonizing the leukotriene receptor. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Leukotriene receptor antagonist in the treatment of moderate cases of COVID-19 patients.
