There are about 6461 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Russian Federation. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is designed to look at the safety, tolerability and effectiveness of 28 days of dosing of GW856553 in rheumatoid arthritis patients.
Primary objective: To demonstrate the efficacy of ciclesonide, compared to placebo, at 80 μg twice daily (BID) or 40 μg BID for 12 weeks in patients with persistent asthma. Secondary objective: To assess the safety and tolerability of ciclesonide.
Ticagrelor is a new, reversible binding, anti-platelet medication. Anti-platelet medications work to prevent the formation of blood clots. Ticagrelor is being developed as a treatment for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). ACS is a term that is used to describe both heart attacks in progress or the imminent threat of a heart attack. ACS is usually caused by the formation of a blood clot in an artery that partially or totally blocks the blood supply to a portion of the heart muscle. Ticagrelor will be compared with clopidogrel to determine which drug, when either is used in conjunction with aspirin, is better at reducing deaths from vascular causes, future heart attacks and/or strokes in patients with ACS.
The purpose of this randomized, double blind, double dummy, multicenter study was to evaluate the efficacy of risperidone long-acting injectable (LAI) monotherapy in comparison with placebo in the prevention of a mood episode in treatment of patients with bipolar I disorder. Oral olanzapine was used to assess the validity of the study design. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of risperidone LAI versus placebo in the prevention of a mood episode (recurrence event) in patients with bipolar I disorder after a 12-week (3 month) stabilization period on risperidone LAI, as measured by the time to recurrence of any mood episode. Risperidone LAI has been approved by the FDA in the USA for the treatment of patients with schizophrenia and for the prevention of mood recurrences in bipolar I disorder, as monotherapy or add-on treatment. It is approved at EMEA and other European and non-European health authorities for the treatment of patients with schizophrenia, too.
Participants with ovarian cancer usually get the drugs carboplatin and paclitaxel as initial treatment. In many participants the tumor will shrink, or even disappear, after treatment with these drugs. But, unfortunately, the tumor will grow again in many participants. This trial will try to address the question: Can we delay the time till the tumor grows again by adding a 3rd drug to the standard therapy? To answer this question, participants will, by chance, either get the experimental drug enzastaurin or a "dummy pill" (placebo) during the chemotherapy and for up to 3 years after chemotherapy. Participants and physicians will not know if a participant gets enzastaurin or placebo (double-blinded trial). After a predefined time, the treatment will be uncovered, and the number of participants with tumor growth at a specific time point will be compared between the two treatments.
This 2 arm study will compare the efficacy and safety of Avastin plus Herceptin/docetaxel, versus Herceptin/docetaxel alone, in patients with HER2 positive locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer who have not received prior chemotherapy for their metastatic disease. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive either Avastin (15mg/kg iv q3weeks) + Herceptin (8mg/kg iv loading dose and 6mg/kg iv q3weeks maintenance) + docetaxel (100mg/m2 iv q3weeks) or Herceptin + docetaxel alone. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
This will be a double-blind, placebo controlled cross-over study. After enrolment and initial assessments, subjects will receive oral SB681323 or matching placebo for 14 days. SB681323 will be administered twice daily at a total daily dose of 7.5mg. Sufficient numbers of patients will be recruited to obtain 40 evaluable patients
The current prognosis for patients with metastatic brain cancer from NSCLC is very poor. The current standard treatment for this disease is radiation therapy to the brain. The goal of the current study is to test whether the combination of orally administered HYCAMTIN capsules and whole brain radiation therapy will prolong the survival time of patients with this potentially serious condition.
The primary objective of this study is to determine whether Daclizumab High Yield Process, when compared to placebo, is effective in reducing the rate of relapses between baseline and Week 52. The secondary objectives are to determine whether Daclizumab High Yield Process is effective in reducing the number of new gadolinium (Gd)-enhancing lesions, reducing the number of new or newly-enlarging T2 hyperintense lesions, reducing the proportion of relapses and improving quality of life.
The purpose of this study is to test an investigational drug, vinflunine (BMS-710485), in combination with gemcitabine in patients with Transitional Cell Carcinoma who cannot be treated with cisplatin. This study will help to determine whether vinflunine in combination with gemcitabine will extend the time period until further growth of the tumor more than gemcitabine alone.
