There are about 3133 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Romania. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the benefits and risks of lixisenatide (AVE0010), in comparison to placebo, used in a 2-step dose titration regimen in monotherapy, over a period of 12 weeks of treatment. The primary objective is to assess the effects of lixisenatide, in comparison to placebo, on glycemic control using a 2-step dose titration regimen in terms of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) reduction (absolute change) at Week 12. Secondary objectives are to assess the effects of lixisenatide, in comparison to placebo, on glycemic control in terms of HbA1c reduction when it is used in a one-step dose titration regimen over a period of 12 weeks, body weight, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose (PPG) after a standardized meal, to assess the safety and tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and anti-lixisenatide antibody development.
The study is intended to test the safety, tolerability, efficacy of two doses of long term once daily (qd) treatment of Mirabegron in patients with symptoms of overactive bladder and secondly to compare these with active comparator.
The purpose of this study is to provide gefitinib treatment to patients who, on completion or closure of other gefitinib clinical studies, were either receiving placebo treatment, or are continuing on the same dose and regimen of gefitinib established in their preceding study, for as long as the patients continue to derive benefit.
The Phase I portion of this protocol will determine the best phase II dose and schedule of obatoclax with carboplatin and etoposide in patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. The Phase II portion will evaluate the response rate to this regimen.
This observational study is restricted to postmenopausal women with hormone-sensitive early breast cancer, who have decided to take prescribed adjuvant use of AIs, anastrozole or letrozole, according to the current product SmPCs. There is no Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) to be taken in this observational study. The adjuvant AI medication must not have exceeded thirteen weeks. In CARIATIDE (Compliance of ARomatase Inhibitors AssessmenT In Daily practicE through Educational approach), impact of educational material on women's compliance and persistence rates will be evaluated.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of 2 years of treatment with galantamine as compared with placebo of patients who have mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's disease (AD).
The primary objective is to compare the efficacy and safety of once daily (q.d.) subcutaneous (s.c.) injections of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) with q.d. s.c. injections of Enoxaparin for the prevention of Venous Thromboembolic Events (VTE) in patients undergoing major abdominal surgery. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the safety of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) and to document Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) exposure in this population.
This will be a multicentre, randomised, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel group comparative study in patients with mild or moderate, active ulcerative colitis. The study will compare budesonide-MMX™ 6 mg and budesonide-MMX™ 9 mg tablets to placebo and to Entocort® 3 x 3 mg capsules, in four parallel groups of patients over an 8 week treatment period. After the screening visit, patients will enter a washout period of 2 days, then they will be randomised to the following four treatment groups: budesonide-MMX™ tablets (6 mg), budesonide-MMX™ tablets (9 mg), Entocort® capsules (3 x 3 mg) and placebo (tablets and capsules), all administered once a day after breakfast. Hence, each patient will receive, in the morning after breakfast, either one budesonide-MMX™ 6 mg or budesonide MMX™ 9 mg tablet and 3 placebo Entocort® matching capsules, or three Entocort® 3 mg capsules and one placebo budesonide-MMX™ matching tablet, or one placebo budesonide-MMX™ matching tablet and three placebo Entocort® matching capsules.
The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate that addition of cetuximab to 1st-line treatment with capecitabine (Xeloda, X) and cisplatin (P) [XP] chemotherapy regimen has a clinically relevant benefit for subjects with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma including gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, in terms of progression free survival (PFS). Secondary objectives are to assess cetuximab plus XP versus XP alone with respect to overall survival, overall tumor response, quality of life (QoL) and safety.
The primary objective of this study is to assess, over a period of 12 months, the effect on weight loss and weight maintenance of rimonabant 10 mg in comparison with rimonabant 20 mg in overweight/obese patients after an initial treatment period of 6 months with rimonabant 20 mg. Secondary objectives are to assess the effect of rimonabant over a period of 12 months on waist circumference, high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-Cholesterol and triglycerides (TG), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin and to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of rimonabant 10 mg and 20 mg over a period of 12 months after randomization in overweight/obese patients.
