NCT ID: NCT00705783 Completed - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Intramuscular Depot Formulation of Aripiprazole as Maintenance Treatment in Patients With Schizophrenia

ASPIRE
Start date: July 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial was to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of an intramuscular depot formulation of aripiprazole as maintenance treatment in patients with schizophrenia. The trial was designed into 4 treatment phases. Phase 1 was designed to allow for a patient to be converted from their current antipsychotic treatment to oral non-generic aripiprazole monotherapy (oral conversion phase from 4 to 6 weeks). During Phase 2, the patient was stabilized on oral non-generic aripiprazole monotherapy (oral stabilization phase from a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks). Once the patient was stabilized in Phase 2, they entered Phase 3, the single-blind intramuscular (IM) depot aripiprazole stabilization phase. The goal of the phase was to stabilize the patient on the IM depot aripiprazole formulation for a minimum of 12 weeks to a maximum of 36 weeks. When the patient was stabilized, they were eligible to be randomized into the double-blind IM depot maintenance phase (Phase 4). During Phase 4, the patient was assessed for exacerbation of psychotic symptoms and/or impending relapse for up to 52 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT00704847 Terminated - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Oral Salmon Calcitonin in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis (OA 2 Study)

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this phase III study is to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Oral Salmon Calcitonin in the Treatment of Patients with Osteoarthritis of the Knee

NCT ID: NCT00703755 Completed - Clinical trials for Patients With Metabolic Syndrome

A Randomized, Double-Blind Trial Comparing the Efficacy and Safety of Fenofibrate, Metformin, Their Combination and Placebo in Patients With Metabolic Syndrome.

Start date: March 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to study the effect of different combinations of fenofibrate and metformin on the cluster of metabolic syndrome (MetS) biochemical abnormalities, and to determine the dose combination allowing normalization of MetS patients.

NCT ID: NCT00701714 Terminated - Anemia Clinical Trials

Randomized, Controlled, Double-blind Multicenter Safety Study to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of Subcutaneous EPO HEXAL vs. ERYPO® in the Treatment of Anemia Associated With Chronic Renal Insufficiency in Predialysis Patients

Start date: September 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, controlled, double-blind, multicenter multinational safety study involving about 300 predialysis patients aged 18 years or above suffering from anemia. Symptomatic anemia will be corrected by s.c. application of EPO HEXAL or ERYPO® in order to achieve a hemoglobin target range of 10.0 -12.0 g/dL.

NCT ID: NCT00701558 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study of First Line Treatment With Tarceva (Erlotinib) in Combination With Gemcitabine in Patients With Unresectable Advanced and/or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This single arm study will assess the efficacy and safety of Tarceva + gemcitabine in chemotherapy-naive patients with unresectable, advanced and/or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. Patients will receive Tarceva 150mg po daily, in combination with gemcitabine 1000mg/m2 i.v. weekly for 3 weeks of each 4 week cycle. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.

Study to Assess the Efficacy of an Extended Injection Interval Schedule of Lanreotide Autogel in Acromegalic Subjects

LEAD
Start date: October 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy of an extended injection interval schedule of lanreotide Autogel 120 mg in acromegalic subjects who are biochemically controlled on long term treatment with octreotide LAR 10 or 20 mg

NCT ID: NCT00700817 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

The Effect of Liraglutide Compared to Sitagliptin, Both in Combination With Metformin on Glycaemic Control in Subjects With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe and North America. The aim of this trial is to compare the effect on blood sugar control of liraglutide or sitagliptin, both in combination with metformin, in subjects with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled with metformin alone. The trial has been extended by 52 weeks. The extension will consist of two 26-week periods: 1. Week 27-52 after randomisation - All subjects will continue receiving sitagliptin or liraglutide at unchanged dose and dosing regimen. 2. Week 53-78 after randomisation - Subjects receiving sitagliptin at the end of week 52 after randomisation will discontinue sitagliptin and will be randomised 1:1 to liraglutide 1.2 mg/day or liraglutide 1.8 mg/day. Liraglutide will be initiated at a dose of 0.6 mg/day, and increased to 1.2 mg/day or 1.8 mg/day in weekly intervals. - Subjects receiving liraglutide 1.2 mg/day or 1.8 mg/day at the end of week 52 after randomisation will continue the treatment at unchanged dose and dosing regimen. Trial completion is planned for June 2010.
