NCT ID: NCT05988359 Completed - Caries,Dental Clinical Trials

Quantitative Evaluation of Aerosols Produced in the Dental Office

Start date: August 28, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Maintaining biosafety in dental practice requires an efficient elimination of aerosols produced during dental treatment. The objective of this research was to assess the quantity of aerosols and aerobic bacteria present in the air during the treatment of caries. Methods: This study was divided into two groups based on the caries treatment method involving 60 patients with 60 m olar teeth (n=60) in the mandible. Group 1 (n=30) received a conventional dental turbine W&H Synea TA-98LC (W&H, Bürmoos, Austria), while Group 2 (n=30) received an Er:YAG laser (LightWalker, Fotona, Slovenia). Measurements of aerosol particles between 0.3 - 10.0 μm near the operator's mouth were taken using the PC200 laser particle counter (Trotec GmbH, Schwerin, Germany). The number of aerobic bacteria in the air was determined using 60 micro-biological plates with a microbiological medium (Columbia Agar with 5% Sheep Blood) and the sedimentation method. A control group G3 was established to measure the initial aero-sol level and the initial total number of bacteria CFUs (colony-forming units) before each treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05988099 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Effects of Standardized Chokeberry Extracts With Various Formulations on the Levels of Selected Markers Associated With Cardiovascular Disease

Start date: February 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to compare in a clinical condition the effect of standardized chokeberry extract in different formulations and a complex preparation containing chokeberry extract and other active ingredients in on the levels of selected markers associated with cardiovascular diseases in people with a predisposition to the development of these diseases.

NCT ID: NCT05982366 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Feasibility and Safety of the Routine Distal Transradial Approach

ANTARES
Start date: November 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The distal transradial approach (dTRA) via the anatomical snuffbox is hypothesized to be more beneficial than the conventional transradial access (cTRA) in patients undergoing coronary procedures. This prospective single-center randomized trial was designed to investigate the safety, efficacy, and various ultrasound parameters of dTRA.

NCT ID: NCT05962255 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Sodium Chloride vs. Glucose Solute as a Volume Replacement Therapy During Decongestion in Acute Heart Failure

SOLVRED-AHF
Start date: February 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is to compare the differences in diuretic, natriuretic and clinical response to decongestion in patients receiving different replacement fluid regimens (0.9% sodium chloride vs 5% glucose) in acute heart failure.

NCT ID: NCT05946694 Completed - Clinical trials for Training Group, Sensitivity

Comparison of UESCOPE VL 400, I-VIEW, Airtraq for Tracheal Intubation in Simulated Out-of-Hospital Conditions

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In the study, three videolaryngoscopes: UESCOPE VL 400 (Zhejiang UE Medical Corp. Zhejiang, China), I-View™ VL (Intersurgical Ltd, Wokingham, Berkshire, UK), Airtraq sp® (Prodol Meditec S.A, Vizcaya, Spain) were compared with the most widely used, classic Macintosh laryngoscope (HEINE Optotechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Gilch-ing, Germany) under simulated out-of-hospital conditions by people without clinical experience on a manikin model (Laerdal Airway Management Trainer Stavanger Norway manikin of universal difficulty), while using an endotracheal tube without and with a stylet. Simulated out-of-hospital conditions were created by placing the manikin at floor level. A random selection of 30 students of the third year of Emergency Medicine, full-time first-degree program at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, were enrolled in the study. The following were assessed: intubation efficiency, time to ventilation (primary endpoints); intubation effort, intubator comfort, tooth damage and visibility of the glottis according to the Cormack-Lehane scale (secondary endpoints).

NCT ID: NCT05946655 Completed - Clinical trials for Infertility Unexplained

Diagnostics of Chronic Endometritis in Infertility

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Chronic endometritis (CE) is characterized by the presence of atypical plasma cell infiltrates (CD138 positive) in the endometrial stroma. Recent analyzes suggest that CE adversely affects fertility by reducing endometrial receptivity, impairing decidualization and uterine contractility, thus increasing the risk of recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure. It is likely that a significant proportion of idiopathic infertility cases are due to CE. The diagnosis of CE is a challenge because the clinical examination and transvaginal ultrasonography are considered non-specific. The recent scientific research has been aimed at identifying hysteroscopic CE diagnostic criteria and establishing the compatibility of ultrasonographic, hysteroscopic, histopathological (including the use of immunohistochemical testing with antibodies against human CD138) and microbiological diagnoses. Preliminary literature results suggested that successful treatment of CE with antibiotics could improve live birth rates.

NCT ID: NCT05936398 Completed - Clinical trials for Athletic Performance

Influence of Respiratory Muscle Training on Objective and Subjective Training Load Measures in Triathletes

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Two groups of healthy, highly trained triathletes trained respiratory muscles with one of the two methods: voluntary isocapnic hyperpnoea (VIH) or inspiratory pressure threshold loading (IPTL). The main purpose of this study was to accurately and thoroughly assess the potential extra load that RMT puts on athletes and determine if there are significant differences in RMT-induced load between the investigated training methods. Informed written consent was obtained from the all study participants. All procedures were carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
