NCT ID: NCT06130696 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

Clamshell Exercise in Patellofemoral Syndrome.

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS), also known as runner's knee, is a common knee condition characterized by pain and discomfort in the front of the knee, specifically around the patella (kneecap) and the surrounding area. The causes for anterior knee pain are multifactorial like overuse, muscle imbalances abnormal tracking of the patella, biomechanical issues, and improper alignment of the lower limbs. Activities that involve repetitive knee motion, such as running, jumping, squatting, or climbing stairs, can exacerbate the condition . The PFPS may cause aching pain around the front of the knee , especially when sitting for long periods, squatting, or climbing stairs, Pain worsens with activities that involve bending the knee, popping or grinding sensation in the knee and swelling or inflammation around the knee in some cases.

NCT ID: NCT06125561 Recruiting - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Periodontal Health and Its Impact on Oral Health-related Quality of Life Among Diabetes Mellitus Patients

NCT ID: NCT06120920 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Comparison of Hip Strengthening Exercises and Core Stability Exercises in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Knee Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative joint disease with complex etiology that results in loss of normal joint function due to damage to the articular cartilage. It is characterized by pain, swelling, inflammation and narrowing in articular cartilage. Hip muscle weakness has been observed in persons with knee OA and poor core stability may be one of the other contributing factors that lead to knee OA development as well as its progression. Core stabilization and muscular synergism of the trunk and hip work is an effective way to improve lower limb strength balance and prevent injury. So the lumbopelvic stability is vital to support loads on the knee joint.
