NCT ID: NCT01234311 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of Tasquinimod in Men With Metastatic Castrate Resistant Prostate Cancer

Start date: March 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 3 randomized, double blind, placebo controlled study of tasquinimod in asymptomatic to mildly symptomatic patients with metastatic CRPC to confirm the effect of tasquinimod on delaying disease progression compared with placebo. Approximately 1200 eligible patients with metastatic CRPC will be randomly assigned in a 2:1 ratio to 1 of 2 treatment groups: Treatment Group A (tasquinimod 0.25, 0.5, or 1 mg/day; n=800) or Treatment Group B (placebo; n=400).

NCT ID: NCT01231607 Completed - Clinical trials for Androgenetic Alopecia

Dutasteride Versus Placebo and Finasteride in Men With Androgenetic Alopecia

Start date: October 28, 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this six month study is to show that dutasteride is safe and more effective than placebo, and at least as safe and effective as finasteride in treating hair loss in men with androgenetic alopecia. Three doses of dutasteride will be investigated.

NCT ID: NCT01225562 Completed - Stroke Clinical Trials

Prevention of Cardiovascular Events (eg, Death From Heart or Vascular Disease, Heart Attack, or Stroke) in Patients With Prior Heart Attack Using Ticagrelor Compared to Placebo on a Background of Aspirin

PEGASUS
Start date: October 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is being carried out to see if a new drug called ticagrelor given twice daily in addition to the ASA therapy decreases the frequency of cardiovascular events (e.g., death from heart disease, heart attack, or stroke).

NCT ID: NCT01225393 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of MLTA3698A in Combination With a Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drug (DMARD) Compared With Adalimumab in Combination With a DMARD in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: November 2010
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase II, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multicenter study enrolling patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

NCT ID: NCT01222117 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Peripheral Arterial Occlusion

A Study of Intra-thrombus Plasmin (Human) In Acute Peripheral Arterial Occlusion

Start date: December 2010
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this Phase 2 study is to optimize Plasmin delivery by comparing different delivery regimens in patients with peripheral arterial occlusion. The study includes a blinded plasminogen activator treatment group and a blinded plasminogen activator placebo group. The study will also assess safety and tolerability of Plasmin at 150 and 250 mg doses.

NCT ID: NCT01215747 Completed - Amyloidosis Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety Study of KIACTA in Preventing Renal Function Decline in AA Amyloidosis

Start date: November 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of treatment with Kiacta in adult patients with AA Amyloidosis.

NCT ID: NCT01214720 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study of Avastin (Bevacizumab) Added to a Chemotherapeutic Regimen in Patients With Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate efficacy, safety and tolerability of Avastin versus placebo added to a chemotherapeutic regimen in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. The anticipated time of study treatment is until confirmed evidence of disease progression, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.

NCT ID: NCT01204749 Completed - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

TRINOVA-1: A Study of AMG 386 or Placebo, in Combination With Weekly Paclitaxel Chemotherapy, as Treatment for Ovarian Cancer, Primary Peritoneal Cancer and Fallopian Tube Cancer

Start date: November 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if treatment with paclitaxel plus AMG 386 is superior to paclitaxel plus placebo in women with recurrent partially platinum sensitive or resistant epithelial ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer or fallopian tube cancer. AMG 386 is a man-made medication that is designed to stop the development of blood vessels in cancer tissues. Cancer tissues rely on the development of new blood vessels, a process called angiogenesis, to obtain a supply of oxygen and nutrients to grow.

NCT ID: NCT01203111 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Intensive Insulin Glulisine Therapy in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Inadequately Controlled With Basal Insulin and Oral Glucose-lowering Drugs

CHANGING
Start date: December 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of an intensive insulin regimen with insulin glargine and insulin glulisine in terms of change in Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level from week 12 (visit 7) to week 24 (visit 10). Secondary Objectives: 1. Percentage of patients with HbA1c < 7% at week 24. 2. Percentage of patients with HbA1c < 7% and no symptomatic nocturnal hypoglycemia event at week 24. 3. Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) and 7-point Self Monitoring of Blood Glucose (SMBG) at week 0, week 12 and week 24. 4. Doses of insulin glargine and insulin glulisine: the daily dose (U) and the daily dose / kg (U/kg) will be calculated at week 24. 5. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, weight change will be measured at week 0, week 12 and week 24. 6. Number of patients suffering hypoglycemias (asymptomatic, symptomatic, nocturnal symptomatic, severe and nocturnal severe) will be evaluated during the treatment period. 7-Adverse events.
