NCT ID: NCT01915589 Completed - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

Refametinib(BAY86-9766) in RAS Mutant Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Start date: September 16, 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a study to investigate the potential clinical benefit of refametinib in patients with unresectable or metastatic HCC carrying a RAS mutation. The study will be conducted in 2 stages. Approximately 95 patients (15 at Stage 1/ 80 at Stage 2) will be accrued to this study to receive treatment. Stage 2 of the trial will only be conducted if at least 5 out of 15 patients at Stage 1 show at least confirmed partial response (PR) according to modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (mRECIST) assessed by central image review. Refametinib is an oral (i.e. taken by mouth) protein kinase inhibitor. A kinase inhibitor targets certain key proteins that are essential for the survival of the cancer cell. By specifically targeting these proteins, refametinib may stop cancer growth. The growth of the tumor may be decreased by preventing these specific proteins from functioning. The primary endpoint (the most meaningful result to be tracked) of this study is based on the rate of response, i.e. the disease getting smaller. The aim is to show that the therapy with refametinib improves the response rate in this RAS mutation patient population.

Pharmacokinetic Study of Drug-coated Angioplasty Balloons in the Superficial Femoral or Popliteal Arteries:

PK
Start date: June 2013
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To describe the pharmacokinetics of paclitaxel in the blood delivered from a paclitaxel coated percutaneous angioplasty balloon catheter as a result of treatment of de novo or restenotic lesion(s), occluded/stenotic or re-occluded/restenotic lesion(s).

NCT ID: NCT01909804 Completed - Hepatitis C Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy of Sofosbuvir Plus Velpatasvir With or Without Ribavirin in Treatment-experienced Subjects With Chronic HCV Infection

Start date: June 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the antiviral efficacy, safety, and tolerability of sofosbuvir (SOF) + velpatasvir (VEL; GS-5816) with or without ribavirin (RBV) in treatment-naive adults with chronic genotype (GT) 1 or 3 hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

NCT ID: NCT01908426 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Study of Cabozantinib (XL184) vs Placebo in Subjects With Hepatocellular Carcinoma Who Have Received Prior Sorafenib

CELESTIAL
Start date: September 26, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Cabozantinib (XL184) compared with placebo on overall survival in subjects with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma who have received prior sorafenib.

NCT ID: NCT01896232 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Head-to-Head Study of Etelcalcetide (AMG 416) and Cinacalcet

Start date: August 13, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that treatment with etelcalcetide (AMG 416) is not inferior to treatment with cinacalcet for lowering serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels by > 30% from baseline among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) who require management with hemodialysis.

NCT ID: NCT01894516 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Dose-finding Study of GLPG0634 as Monotherapy in Active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Participants (DARWIN2)

Start date: October 8, 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

- Participants suffering from active rheumatoid arthritis who had an inadequate response to methotrexate were evaluated for improvement of disease activity (efficacy) when taking GLPG0634 as monotherapy (3 different doses - 50 milligram (mg), 100 mg and 200 mg once daily) or matching placebo for 24 weeks. - During the course of the study, patients were also examined for any side effects that could occur (safety and tolerability), and the amount of GLPG0634 present in the blood (Pharmacokinetics) as well as the effects of GLPG0634 on disease- and mechanism of action-related parameters in the blood (Pharmacodynamics) were determined. Also, the effects of different doses of GLPG0634 administration on participants' disability, fatigue and quality of life were evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT01890421 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Gadobutrol/Gadavist-enhanced Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMRI) to Detect Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

GadaCAD 1
Start date: July 19, 2013
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Participants being evaluated for suspected or known Coronary artery Disease (CAD) based on signs and/or symptoms, will be invited to participate in the study. The duration for a participant in the study may range from 2 days to 4-6 weeks. One to four visits to the study doctor will be required. This study will investigate the diagnostic results of gadobutrol-enhanced Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMRI) images regarding the detection (sensitivity) and exclusion (specificity) of coronary artery disease utilizing a uniform image acquisition software. The CMR images will be tested either against the results from routine clinical Coronary Angiography (CA) or those from Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), which is used as the standard of reference. The CA/CTA may have been performed up to 4 weeks prior to enrollment or be scheduled up to 4/6 weeks after the study. CMRI and CA/CTA images will be collected for an independent image review (blinded read).
