NCT ID: NCT03293693 Completed - Gut Microbiota Clinical Trials

Intake of Beta-glucan and Postprandial Regulation of Blood Glucose Metabolism in Healthy Subjects

Start date: October 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The overall aim is to investigate the intake of beta-glucan in relation to glucose metabolism and satiety in a postprandial study with healthy subjects. The potential effects will be related to changes in the gut microbiota, the circulating levels of short chain fatty acids, inflammation and gene expression in peripheral mononuclear blood cells

NCT ID: NCT03293342 Active, not recruiting - Dental Fear Clinical Trials

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dental Fear

Start date: September 10, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study is an RCT study comparing a 3-5 intervention treatment with dentist administered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ( D-CBT) with a control treatment. The control treatment is a "treatment as usual" concept using premedication with benzodiazepines and a common sense approach. The treatment will be performed in a regular dental office. The dentist is working as a regular dentist and is trained in the CBT Method.

NCT ID: NCT03293173 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Lymphoma, Large B-Cell, Diffuse

Biomarker Driven Intensified ChemoImmunotherapy With Early CNS Prophylaxis

Bio-CHIC
Start date: August 4, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is testing whether stratification of the patients according to biological risk factors for different treatment groups will improve the outcome of patients with clinically high diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

NCT ID: NCT03287726 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

What is the Impact of Probiotics on Weight Loss Maintenance in Individuals With Obesity?

Start date: November 16, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Weight loss maintenance is the biggest challenge in obesity management, with the majority of weight-reduced individuals experiencing weight regain. The intake of probiotics has been shown to help in weight loss, but its potential in maximizing weight loss maintenance remains unknown. Therefore, the main aim of this study is to investigate the impact of probiotic consumption on weight loss maintenance. Secondary aims are to investigate if the intake of probiotics influences gut microbiota, cardio-metabolic profile, appetite and inflammatory markers.

NCT ID: NCT03286374 Completed - Obesity, Morbid Clinical Trials

Do Change in Life Style Improve Work Ability?

Start date: August 30, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main aim of this Cohort trial is to get more information about how life style changes affect work participation for people with BMI above 30. The information can contribute to improving the quality of occupational rehabilitation programs in the specialized health care services and for others who work with weight loss programs and work related rehabilitation programs.

NCT ID: NCT03284424 Completed - Clinical trials for Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Study of Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in Adults With Recurrent/Metastatic Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma (cSCC) or Locally Advanced Unresectable cSCC (MK-3475-629/KEYNOTE-629)

Start date: October 26, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in adult participants with recurrent or metastatic(R/M) cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma (cSCC) or locally advanced (LA) unresectable cSCC that is not amenable to surgery and/or radiation and/or systemic therapies.

NCT ID: NCT03284086 Completed - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

VO2peak and Exercise Efficiency in Upper-body Poling

Start date: September 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study compares peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) and exercise efficiency in upper-body poling versus arm crank ergometry in trained able-bodied and paraplegic participants.

NCT ID: NCT03282006 Completed - Clinical trials for Urinary Tract Infections

Treating Pyelonephritis an Urosepsis With Pivmecillinam

MePUr
Start date: September 29, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Febrile urinary tract infections and urosepsis are common and potentially serious infections that require effective antimicrobial treatment. The duration of parenteral treatment depends on oral alternatives. These alternatives are few and due to antimicrobial resistance, quinolones are "standard of care". The increased use of quinolones is concerning because of its negative ecological aspects and it is confirmed an increasing incidence of resistant E.coli to quinolones in Norwegian isolates. Pivmecillinam is an antibiotic with high susceptibility to E.coli but the evidence for treating febrile urinary tract infections is insufficient. This trial will investigate the efficacy and safety of pivmecillinam in treating pyelonephritis and urosepsis caused by E.coli. The hypothesis is that urosepsis can safely be treated with pivmecillinam when it is given after 2-3 days with empirical i.v. antibiotics.

NCT ID: NCT03280602 Active, not recruiting - Olecranon Fracture Clinical Trials

Operative Treatment of Olecranon Fractures

Start date: December 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The incidence of olecranon fractures is 12 per 100.000. Traditionally, isolated olecranon fractures have been treated with tension band wiring (TBW). There is a trend towards increased use of plate fixation, though TBW has yielded good and comparable patient reported outcomes. The latter method is substantially cost-effective, but higher complication reports have been reported. There are only two randomized controlled trials comparing TBW and plate fixation, and the literature is inconclusive in which fixation method is preferable in the treatment of olecranon fractures. In this multi-center trial, adult patients (18-75 years) with isolated olecranon fractures will be randomized to either TBW or plate fixation.

NCT ID: NCT03278769 Completed - Clinical trials for Ventilator-Induced Lung Injury

Ventilator Settings on Patients With Acute Brain Injury

Start date: June 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The present study is an explorative analysis of the relationship between cerebral blood perfusion and oxygenation and lung mechanical variables at different ventilator settings. It is a safety study excluding patients with severe lung injury or brain edema.
