NCT ID: NCT04129957 Completed - Peri-Implantitis Clinical Trials

Prediction of Failure of Dental Implants

Start date: December 10, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the study is to identify predictors in patient profiles and implant characteristics and to develop and calibrate a prediction model for failure of implants. Patients` demographic characteristics, lifestyle habits, general health, dental health, and implant characteristics were regarded as potential predictors. The failure of implants and the follow-up time in days of implants were considered the outcome. Multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis is used to find out the important risk factors for failure of dental implants and to develop the model for prediction of failure of dental implants at follow-up. The performance and clinical values of the model is determined.

NCT ID: NCT04127383 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

Effectiveness and Implementation of the Assessment of Burden of Chronic Conditions (ABCC)-Tool

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of the Assessment of Burden of Chronic Conditions (ABCC)-tool for patients with COPD, asthma, diabetes mellitus type 2 or heart failure (and any combination of these conditions) in real-life routine practice. The ABCC-tool consists of a questionnaire, a visualisation using balloons that is based on cut-off points, and treatment advice. The ABCC-tool is intended to be used in daily healthcare practice, is designed to monitor a patient's integrated health status over time, to facilitate shared decision making, and to stimulate self-management. The study has a pragmatic clustered quasi-experimental design with two arms. The intervention group will use the ABCC-tool and the control group will receive usual care. The study will be implemented at a general practice-level, and has a follow-up period of 18 months. The primary outcome is change in perceived quality of care, as measured with the Patient Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (PACIC), as compared to usual care after 18 months. It is hypothesized that the change in perceived quality of care is significantly higher in the group using the ABCC-tool as compared to the group that receives usual care. Additionally the implementation of the ABCC-tool in general practices will be evaluated in 12 general practices. The implementation study will evaluate the context of caregivers with the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research, the process of implementation with the RE-AIM framework, and fidelity to the intervention with the fidelity framework.

NCT ID: NCT04123275 Completed - Clinical trials for Tissue and Organ Procurement

Prediction on Time to Death in Potential Controlled Donation After Circulatory Death (cDCD) Donors (DCD III Study)

DCDIII
Start date: July 7, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A considerable number of potential cDCD donors do not convert into actual organ donors because circulatory arrest does not occur within the predefined timeframe of warm ischemia after withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. The main objective of this study is to determine parameters predicting time to death in potential cDCD patients.

NCT ID: NCT04122560 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Fluconazole Pharmacokinetics, Including Bioavailability, in Obese Subjects After an Intravenous and Oral Administration

FOLIA
Start date: November 30, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The pharmacokinetics of fluconazole are expected to be different in obese patients compared to non-obese patients. The investigators will determine fluconazole and free fluconazole concentrations in 16 obese patients and 8 healthy volunteers, who will receive oral and intravenous fluconazole in a semi-simultaneous design. A full pharmacokinetic curve will be obtained until 48 hours after intravenous administration.

NCT ID: NCT04121052 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Start date: October 8, 2019
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of 5 different food conditions on the single dose pharmacokinetics (PK) of the JNJ-64417184 tablet formulation administered orally, using the PK after a high-fat meal as a reference, in healthy adult participants.

NCT ID: NCT04114864 Completed - Clinical trials for Mental Health Wellness 1

A Primary Prevention Intervention for the Promotion of Psycho-social Wellbeing in Adolescent Young Carers:

ME-WE
Start date: October 20, 2019
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Adolescent young carers (AYCs) are young people aged 15-17 years old, who take on significant or substantial caring tasks and assume a level of responsibility that would usually be associated with an adult. In Europe, the estimated prevalence rate of YCs is around 4-8%.Taking on care responsibilities so early in life may have considerable negative consequences for YCs' mental and physical health and psychosocial development. Psychosocial interventions to support YC worldwide are generally quite limited. The H2020 Me-We project (Psychosocial Support for Promoting Mental Health and Well-being among Adolescent Young Carers in Europe) aims to develop an innovative framework of primary prevention interventions for adolescent YCs (AYCs) aged 15-17 to be tested in six European countries (Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom). The theoretical framework chosen for the intervention is the DNA-V Model. The DNA-V model is a psychological intervention, addressed to adolescents and young people, used in educational and clinical settings. This model has its roots in the contextual and functional science and it is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a third-generation cognitive-behavioural therapy. The intervention programme designed for the ME-WE project builds on the DNA-V model but it was adapted to fit the specific needs of adolescent young carers (AYCs) and the goals of the ME-WE project. The study aim is to evaluate the efficacy of DNA-V based program for AYCs (so-called ME-WE intervention), using a cluster-randomized controlled trial (C-RCT) design. The evaluation of the intervention will be carried out using as primary outcome variables: Psychological flexibility; Mindfulness skills; Resilience; Subjective mental health; Quality of life; Subjective health complaints; Caring-related quality of life; Cognitive and emotional impact of caring and Social support. As secondary outcome variables will be included Self-reported school, training or work experience, performance, and attendance. COVID-19 Amendment: Recruitment, should be moved to a cluster- based online recruitment or individual, social media recruitment, face-to-face sessions should be moved to online sessions using video-conferencing instruments, allowing for visual presentations of participants and session materials (e.g. ZOOM, Microsoft Teams). Four open-ended items were added to evaluation questionnaire assessing impact of COVID-19 pandemic.

NCT ID: NCT04112212 Completed - Crohn Disease Clinical Trials

Using Vedolizumab-800CW to Gain Insight Into Local Drug Distribution and Mucosal Target Cells in IBD Patients

VISION
Start date: November 4, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Summary Vision Study Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC) are chronic idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Vedolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody against α4β7 integrin, capable of blocking the migration of several immune cells across endothelium expressing MAdCAM-1. Vedolizumab is expensive and primary non-response is high in both CD and UC. Currently there are no predictors of response to vedolizumab and the actual mechanism of action has not yet been elucidated. To clarify the mechanism of action and gain better understanding of the high primary non-response rates, the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) developed a tracer fluorescently labeling vedolizumab. This study aims to gain insight into vedolizumab distribution and concentrations in the gut. The current study aims to identify the vedolizumab target cells in the inflamed gut mucosa using quantitative fluorescence molecular imaging (FMI). By gaining insight into local vedolizumab concentrations, drug distribution and by discovering target cells, we expect to gain insight into the mechanism of action of vedolizumab.
