The CHIPS Trial (Control of Hypertension In Pregnancy Study)

The investigators do not know which approach to treatment of non-severe high blood pressure in pregnancy is better for women and babies. In the CHIPS Trial, the investigators seek to determine whether 'less tight' control (aiming for a diastolic blood pressure [dBP] of 100 mmHg), compared with 'tight' control (aiming for a diastolic blood pressure [dBP] of 85 mmHg) can decrease the risks of adverse baby outcomes without increasing the risk of problems for the mother.

PharmacoKINEtics of TAMoxifen and Its Metabolites in Breast Cancer Patients: the Influence of a Dose Increase in Phenotypic Poor Metabolizers of CYP2D6 (KINETAM)

All women on tamoxifen receive the standard dose of 20mg QD, irrespective of the use of potential CYP2D6 inhibitors, and are not tested for CYP2D6 polymorphisms prior to start of tamoxifen treatment.However CYP2D6 polymorphisms and/or the use of CYP2D6 inhibitors as co-medication may influence the treatment outcome of tamoxifen. The investigators propose a prospective study in women taking tamoxifen at a dose of 20mg QD. In each woman, information will be collected on endoxifen levels, CYP2D6 status, adherence and use of co-medication. In women who are phenotypically poor metabolizers of tamoxifen, a dose increase to 40mg QD will be applied and the effect of this intervention on tamoxifen pharmacokinetics will be evaluated after 4 weeks.

Gynaecological Follow-up of a Subset of HPV-015 (NCT00294047) Study Subjects

This study is intended to provide up to a maximum of four years of annual oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing and cervical cytology examination for NCT00294047 study subjects who displayed normal cervical cytology but tested positive for oncogenic HPV infection at their concluding NCT00294047 study visit. Women who were pregnant at their concluding NCT00294047 study visit may also be included in this study, as no cervical sample could be collected at that visit. The objectives and outcome measures of the primary phase (NCT00294047) are presented in a separate protocol posting.

This Phase 3 study has been designed to confirm that adding custirsen to standard first-line docetaxel/prednisone treatment can slow tumor progression and enhance survival outcomes compared to standard first-line docetaxel/prednisone treatment alone. This will be a randomized, open-label, multicenter, international trial. Treatment will consist of docetaxel/prednisone/custirsen vs. docetaxel/prednisone. A total of at least 1000 patients will be randomized. Patients will be randomly assigned with equal probability to the two arms.

Washing Without Water: Cost-effectiveness of a Rapidly Spreading Nursing Intervention in Bedridden Patients'

The purpose of this study is to compare the traditional bed bath with 'washing without water' on - 1) effects on skin integrity - 2) patient and nurse satisfaction and 3) costs. In a cluster randomized trial we will randomize 50 nursing home wards (576 patients) to 'washing without water' or traditional bed baths. Bathing regimens are continued for six weeks. Whereas effects on skin damage are not likely to be specific for setting, these results can be generalized to other patient groups.

The primary objectives of the study are to 1) compare the efficacy responses of CP 690,550 (5 mg BID and 10 mg BID) versus placebo following 24 weeks of CP 690,550 treatment and subsequent withdrawal of active treatment at various timepoints during the 16 week double blind active or placebo treatment period; 2) evaluate the regain of efficacy responses of CP 690,550 (5 mg BID and 10 mg BID) following 4 -16 weeks of CP 690,550 treatment withdrawal and subsequent re treatment; and 3) evaluate the safety and tolerability of CP 690,550 (5 mg BID and 10 mg BID) in subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.

ROGYcare: The Impact of a Cancer Survivorship Care Plan on Patient Reported Outcomes and Health Care Providers

Earlier diagnoses and improved treatments have contributed to the growing cohort of cancer survivors. Nevertheless, these patients remain at risk for adverse long-term or late physical or psychosocial effects of cancer and its treatment. There is increasing recognition to improve information disclosure and cancer survivorship care. The American Institute of Medicine (IOM) and Health Council of the Netherlands both recommend that cancer survivors receive a summary of their course of treatment as a formal document, that also includes recommendations for subsequent cancer surveillance, management of late effects, and strategies for health promotion, the Survivorship Care Plan (SCP). However, no evidence exists concerning the positive and negative effects of the implementation of the SCP in daily clinical practice. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of SCP care in routine clinical practice on cancer survivors' satisfaction with information disclosure and care, quality of life, illness perception, and health care use.
