NCT ID: NCT05232162 Recruiting - Aldosteronism Clinical Trials

Establishment of Aldosterone and Renin Reference Range

ARR
Start date: December 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Elevated aldosterone levels were also shown to contribute to the excess morbidity and mortality. Literature shows aldosterone and renin levels differ between ethnicity and gender. There is no established reference intervals for these two hormone levels in Asian community. We aim to establish reference intervals for plasma aldosterone and direct renin concentrations among Malaysians residing in Sarawak using the chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA). This is a cross-sectional study which will be conducted among ambulatory patients, healthy blood donors and healthy volunteers. 300 participants who fulfil study criteria will be recruited after informed consent. Socio-demographic data and anthropometric measurements will be recorded. Blood will be taken for plasma aldosterone, renin, serum potassium and creatinine. Urine will be collected for estimation of 24-hour sodium excretion. Aldosterone and renin reference intervals will be established partitioned for gender.

NCT ID: NCT05217407 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Rare Malignant Neoplasm

Marker Assisted Selective ThErapy in Rare Cancers: Knowledge Database Establishing registrY Asia

MASTERKEY ASIA
Start date: November 30, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This is a registry study that aims to collect patients' data with advanced-stage rare cancer in Asia-Pacific region. Data includes clinical information, details of treatment, prognosis, pathological diagnosis and genetic biomarkers by next-generation sequencing. The relationship between cancer types and prognosis, the effect of treatments, and the cancer type-specific incidence of genomic alterations will be investigated to discover more specific and effective treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05211947 Recruiting - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

A Study to Test Long-term Safety of Iclepertin in People With Schizophrenia Who Took Part in a Previous CONNEX Study

Start date: March 3, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is open to adults with schizophrenia who took part in a previous CONNEX study (study 1346-0011, 1346-0012, or 1346-0013). The purpose of this study is to find out how well people with schizophrenia can tolerate a medicine called Iclepertin in the long term. Participants take Iclepertin as tablets once a day for 1 year. In addition, all participants take their normal medication for schizophrenia. Participants are in the study for a little more than 1 year. During this time, they visit the study site about 13 times and get about 9 phone calls from the study team. The doctors collect information on any health problems of the participants. Doctors also regularly check the participants' symptoms of schizophrenia.

NCT ID: NCT05204706 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Gestational Diabetes

The MalaYsian GestatiOnal Diabetes and Prevention of DiabetES Study

MyGODDESS
Start date: January 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is an increasingly common condition of pregnancy and is associated with adverse foetal, infant, and maternal outcomes. Over 50% of women with history of GDM will develop type 2 diabetes (T2D) in later life. Asian women experience disproportionate risk of both GDM and T2D compared to women from other ethnic groups. Lifestyle interventions have been proven to be effective in preventing progression to T2DM in high-risk populations. This is a two-arm, parallel feasibility RCT. Sixty Malaysian women with GDM will be randomized to receive the intervention or standard care in the antenatal period to 12 months postpartum. The intervention is a diabetes prevention intervention delivered via a smartphone application developed based on the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills (IMB) model of behavior change and group support utilizing motivational interviewing, which will provide women with tailored information and support to encourage weight loss through adapted dietary intake and physical activity. Women in the control arm will receive standard care.
