Start date: July 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate compliance, tolerability, safety, efficacy and caregiver burden of rivastigmine patch 10 cm² treatment in people with Alzheimer's disease (MMSE 10-26) initiating therapy for the first time with a cholinesterase inhibitor, and in patients who were unresponsive to previous cholinesterase inhibitor treatment in a community setting.

NCT ID: NCT00728195 Completed - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

An Efficacy and Safety Study of 3 Fixed Doses of JNJ-37822681 in Participants With Schizophrenia

Start date: November 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 3 fixed doses of JNJ-37822681 compared with placebo (an inactive substance that is compared with a drug to test if the drug has a real effect in a clinical trial) after 6 weeks treatment and olanzapine after 12 weeks treatment in participants with schizophrenia (psychiatric disorder with symptoms of emotional instability, detachment from reality, often with delusions and hallucinations, and withdrawal into the self).

NCT ID: NCT00722137 Completed - Clinical trials for Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Study of the Combination of Rituximab, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, VELCADE, and Prednisone or Rituximab, Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisone in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Start date: May 1, 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, open-label, multicenter, prospective study to compare the efficacy and safety of the combination of VcR-CAP to that of R-CHOP in participants who have newly diagnosed mantle cell lymphoma grade II, III or IV and who are ineligible to undergo bone marrow transplantation.

NCT ID: NCT00715312 Completed - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Effect of Oleic Acid on Inflammation Markers and Blood Lipid Metabolites: A Randomised, Double-Blind, Crossover Study

Start date: February 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Rationale: The effect of positional distribution of dietary fatty acids on markers of inflammation and blood lipids metabolites on diets containing fatty acids such as oleic acid that are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease is not widely studied. Hypothesis: There would be difference detected in the concentrations of markers of inflammation and blood lipid metabolites in human volunteers fed controlled diets. Study design: A randomized, double-blind, crossover clinical trial that involves 41 healthy volunteers. The volunteers will be selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. They will consume controlled diets for 5 weeks that provides 15% of energy from protein, 30% of energy from fat, and 55% of energy from carbohydrates. Volunteers will be assigned to each test diets which is cooked with novel olein, palm stearin or partially hydrogenated soybean oil in random order until all three diets has consumed by each person. Main study parameters: LDL-cholesterol

NCT ID: NCT00712790 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Study of SIR-Spheres Plus Sorafenib as 1st Line Treatment for Non-resectable Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This Phase I/II trial will evaluate the safety and activity of chemo-radiotherapy comprising a regimen of Sorafenib chemotherapy plus SIR-Spheres yttrium-90 microspheres (chemo-radiotherapy, also known as "chemo-SIRT"), for first-line treatment of patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in whom surgical resection is not feasible. This study is designed as a prelude to a planned future randomised comparative study that will compare the efficacy of Sorafenib plus SIR-Spheres versus Sorafenib alone, in this patient population.

NCT ID: NCT00708370 Completed - Dyslipidemia Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy of a Counselling and Advisory Care for Health (COACH) Program in Dyslipidemic Patients.

DISSEMINATE
Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study is a local PCO sponsored, interventional, non-drug study to evaluate the efficacy of a health tele-counselling program in reducing cardiovascular risk in dyslipidemic patients.

NCT ID: NCT00707980 Completed - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder

Safety and Tolerability of Vortioxetine (Lu AA21004) in Adults With Major Depressive Disorder

Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term efficacy and safety of vortioxetine, once daily (QD), in adults with major depressive disorder.

NCT ID: NCT00707304 Completed - Clinical trials for Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

Safety and Efficacy of Talactoferrin in Previously Treated Patients With Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

FORTIS-M
Start date: November 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether talactoferrin can improve overall survival in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have been previously treated with two or more regimens.

NCT ID: NCT00705783 Completed - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Intramuscular Depot Formulation of Aripiprazole as Maintenance Treatment in Patients With Schizophrenia

ASPIRE
Start date: July 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the trial was to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of an intramuscular depot formulation of aripiprazole as maintenance treatment in patients with schizophrenia. The trial was designed into 4 treatment phases. Phase 1 was designed to allow for a patient to be converted from their current antipsychotic treatment to oral non-generic aripiprazole monotherapy (oral conversion phase from 4 to 6 weeks). During Phase 2, the patient was stabilized on oral non-generic aripiprazole monotherapy (oral stabilization phase from a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks). Once the patient was stabilized in Phase 2, they entered Phase 3, the single-blind intramuscular (IM) depot aripiprazole stabilization phase. The goal of the phase was to stabilize the patient on the IM depot aripiprazole formulation for a minimum of 12 weeks to a maximum of 36 weeks. When the patient was stabilized, they were eligible to be randomized into the double-blind IM depot maintenance phase (Phase 4). During Phase 4, the patient was assessed for exacerbation of psychotic symptoms and/or impending relapse for up to 52 weeks.
