There are about 1062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Latvia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the overall safety of Lapaquistat Acetate, once daily (QD), by itself or in combination with atorvastatin in subjects with primary dyslipidemia.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether tapentadol (CG5503) prolonged-release (PR) tablets at doses of 100-250 mg twice daily provide a better pain relief in patients with moderate to severe chronic pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee than a placebo (a medication without active substance). In addition the tolerability of CG5503 PR will be assessed. One third of the patients will receive CG5503 and one third will receive placebo. For further comparison one third of the patients will receive oxycodone controlled release (CR) at doses of 20-50 mg twice daily which is an active approved pain medication. Please note that tapentadol ER (Extended Release) and tapentadol PR (Prolonged Release) are identical and used interchangeably. This is due to United States of America and European naming conventions.
This is a 26-week study in subjects with type 2 diabetes currently sub-optimally controlled by diet and exercise or with non-thiazolidinedione antihyperglycemic monotherapy. The total duration of a subject's participation will be approximately 30 weeks, including a 2-week placebo run-in period, a 26-week double-blind treatment period, and a 2-week post-treatment follow-up period.
To assess the efficacy of FOLFOX4 in combination with cetuximab, weekly and FOLFOX4 in combination with cetuximab, biweekly.
To compare a stable dose of salmeterol/fluticasone propionate with a variable dose of formoterol/budesonide where the dose is adjusted according to a physician-guided self-management plan

Picoplatin is a new type of platinum drug that has been investigated in several clinical trials, and may provide an improved safety profile over current treatment options. This study is designed to compare the efficacy and safety of picoplatin plus Best Supportive Care (BSC) with BSC alone. Best Supportive Care includes care and treatment to optimize the comfort of patients and their ability to function, as well as to minimize the side-effects of anti-cancer treatments.
This single arm study will assess the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous Mircera for correction of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis and are not treated with ESA. Eligible patients will receive Mircera by monthly subcutaneous injections, dependent on body weight (with a starting dose of 1.2 micrograms/kg). The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
