There are about 682 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Lebanon. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
- The Study analyses the influence of selected factors on adherence to Betaferon treatment in patients with early multiple sclerosis (MS). The Investigator will document the relevant medical data regarding multiple sclerosis at every hospital visit, the patient will fill in two questionnaires at every visit: one about coping with the disease and the other about anxiety and depression. - The Study particularly looks at the role of the support of the patient given by the multiple sclerosis nurses. The nurse will provide additional standardised information at start of treatment and will regularly phone the patient to ask standardised questions about the general condition with regard to the treatment, the disease and social support. At the end of the Study it will be assessed if the supportive measures and the standards in terms of adherence management in the hospital have some influence to increase long-term treatment adherence.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether NXL104 plus ceftazidime is effective in the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections as compared to a comparator group.
The primary objective was to demonstrate the superiority of insulin glargine over sitagliptin in reducing Glycosylated Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) from baseline to the end of the treatment period. Secondary objective was to assess the effect of insulin glargine in comparison with sitagliptin on: - HbA1c level - Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) - 7-point plasma glucose (PG) profiles - Percentage of patients with HbA1c <7% and <6.5% Safety objectives consisted of: - Hypoglycemia occurrence - Body weight - Overall safety
A randomized, double-blind, clinical trial to assess the safety and efficacy of two doses of oral cladribine versus placebo in participants who had a first clinical demyelinating event (clinically isolated syndrome). Participants in either the cladribine or placebo group may also enter treatment periods with open-label interferon-beta or open-label cladribine depending upon the disease status. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of two dosage regimens of oral cladribine versus placebo on the time to conversion to multiple sclerosis (MS) (from randomization) according to the Poser criteria in participants with first clinical demyelinating event at high risk of converting to MS.
To compare the antihypertensive efficacy of the combination irbesartan/hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) using either a usual or an active elective titration regimen. The main efficacy criteria will be the change in mean Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP), measured at doctor's office with an automatic device, after a 10-week treatment period in hypertensive patients insufficiently controlled by monotherapy.
The objective of this study is to compare the progression-free survival (PFS) of the drug combination ramucirumab plus docetaxel to placebo plus docetaxel in previously untreated participants with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative, unresectable, locally-recurrent or metastatic breast cancer.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether NXL104 plus ceftazidime is effective in the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections as compared to a comparator group.
In this study, subjects who were vaccinated with a meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine in a previous study (whose objectives & outcome measures are presented in a separate protocol posting with NCT number = 00227422) will be vaccinated with a new vaccine using conjugation technology. These subjects will be compared to subjects vaccinated with the new vaccine, but who were not previously vaccinated with a meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine.
This study is conducted in Africa, Asia, Europe, Japan and South America. The aim of this observational study is to evaluate the incidence of serious adverse reactions (SARs) while using Levemir® (insulin detemir) under normal clinical practice conditions. Study conducted globally in 26 countries. Some countries participated in the study for only 3 months (Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Lebanon, Slovenia, Russia, and Turkey), while others extended their participation to 6 (Belgium/Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Greece, India, Italy, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Tunisia, and United Kingdom/Ireland) and 12 months (Finland, France, and Japan), respectively.
One complication of uveitis which is driven by an increase in VEGF is the formation of inflammatory ocular neovascularization (ION). Here, we analyze the therapeutic role of intravitreal bevacizumab in ION not responding to standard therapy (systemic and ocular corticosteroids and systemic immunosuppressants) in a multicenter retrospective study. The natural history of subfoveal choroidal new vessels histoplasmosis, multifocal choroiditis, Harada and other inflammatory chorioretinal disorders has been very guarded, but with this new approach, we hope to stop the visual loss in these relatively young patients.
