This is a Phase 1/2, multicenter, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of single and multiple doses of DNL593 in two parts followed by an optional open-label extension (OLE) period. Part A will evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of single doses of DNL593 in healthy male and healthy female participants of nonchildbearing potential. Part B will evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of multiple doses of DNL593 in participants with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) over 25 weeks. Part B will be followed by Part C, an optional 18-month OLE period available for all participants who complete Part B.
Despite their potential benefits on the heart with pleiotropic mechanisms, the cardioprotective effects of new glucose-lowering SGLT-2 inhibitors in patients with myocardial infarction - both in the acute and chronic phase - have never been explored. The key point of the project will be the evaluation of the cardioprotective effect and the potential prognostic benefit of SGLT-2 inhibitors in patients with diabetes and acute myocardial infarction.
This study aims to produce new evidence on the positive effects of physical activity and certain individual lifestyles in the control of type 2 diabetic disease. The goal is to build and evaluate the effectiveness of a new parsimonious risk prediction model based on the use of classical variables (blood exams), already used in other models for predicting the risk related to the disease, together with measures obtained from the use of wearable devices (steps count, sleep hours, heart rate).
This is a monocenter, prospective randomized clinical trial. The study aims to investigate whether moderate consumption of red wine (1 unit at lunch and 1 unit at dinner) for 30 days after surgery could improve the quality of life (QoL) and health perception status of the patient, without increasing the morbidity and the toxicity related to the surgery.

Lung transplantation is a consolidated treatment in selected patients with end-stage respiratory diseases; however, acute rejection remains an important cause of lung allograft loss and a risk factor for chronic allograft dysfunction. Histopathological examination of lung tissue is the gold standard for the diagnosis of acute rejection, therefore recipients undergo surveillance transbronchial biopsy and bronchoalveolar lavage after transplantation. However, the obtained tissue is sometimes inadequate for histopathology, and the endoscopic procedure can lead to complications (bleeding, pneumothorax). The quantification of donor-derived cell-free DNA (ddcfDNA) in the recipient plasma has shown to be increased in case of acute rejection, and could represent an early and non-invasive diagnostic marker to detect acute rejection. We planned to enroll all patients aged 18 to 65 years old enlisted for lung transplantation at our centre. Patients undergoing retransplantation and patients with a history of prior solid organ transplantation were excluded. The quantification of donor-derived cell-free DNA was performed 15 days and 3, 6, and 12 months after transplantation, concurrently with the routine surveillance bronchoscopies as per our protocol; the same analysis was also conducted in case of suspected clinical rejection.
It is essential to improve clinical efficiency and management of hematological and oncological patients treated on an outpatient basis. The most promising operative way to achieve this result is the development of tele-oncology platforms, that allow not only a telemedicine visit, but also the patient support in the daily management of the disease and related disorders, as well as treatments and their complications. In this perspective, the RITA communication platform should be able to support the patient, the caregiver, the physician and the general practitioner in the management of the disease and its treatments.
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the safety and efficacy of tirzepatide compared to placebo in children or teenagers with type 2 diabetes taking metformin, or basal insulin, or both. The overall study will last about 60 weeks with up to 14 clinic visits and 6 phone visits. Clinic visits will include blood sample collection, physical exam and questionnaire.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a plasma cell disease characterized by the growth of clonal plasma cells in the bone marrow. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and toxicity of ABBV-383 when co-administered with pomalidomide-dexamethasone (Pd), lenalidomide-dexamethasone (Rd), daratumumab-dexamethasone (Dd), or nirogacestat (Niro) in adult participants with relapsed/refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma (MM). Adverse events and change in disease activity will be assessed. ABBV-383 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of R/R MM. Study doctors put the participants in groups called treatment arms. ABBV-383 co-administered with Pd, Rd, Dd, or Niro will be explored. Each treatment arm receives a different treatment combination depending on stage of the study and eligibility. This study will include a dose escalation phase to determine the best dose of ABBV-383, followed by a dose expansion phase to confirm the dose. Approximately 270 adult participants with R/R MM will be enrolled in the study in approximately 45 sites worldwide. Participants will receive intravenous (IV) ABBV-383 co-administered with oral/IV Pd, oral/IV Rd, oral/IV/subcutaneous (SC) Dd, or oral/IV Niro in 28-day cycles. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at an approved institution (hospital or clinic). The effect of the treatment will be frequently checked by medical assessments, blood tests, questionnaires and side effects.
