There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
STereotactic sAlvage Radiotherapy for macroscopic prostate bed Recurrence after prostatectomy (STARR trial) is a prospective observational study aimed to assess outcome after Stereotactic salvage radiotherapy (SSRT) for macroscopic prostate bed recurrence after radical prostatectomy.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of aticaprant compared with placebo as adjunctive therapy to an antidepressant in improving depressive symptoms in adult participants with major depressive disorder (MDD) with moderate-to-severe anhedonia (ANH+) who have had an inadequate response to current antidepressant therapy with a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI).
The GISE-SHOCKCALCIUM Registry is an Investigator Driven Italian All Comers prospective, observational, multicenter Italian IVL registry of Calcified lesions Treated with Intravascular Lithotripsy. The main purpose is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of coronary lithotripsy for treatment of severe calcified lesion. A total of 2000 patients with coronary calcified lesions will be enrolled in 24 months. The registry will be conducted in approximately 50 interventional cardiology centers in Italy with at least 2 IVL procedures per 24 months. Primary endpoint: Target lesion failure (TLF) at 1 year. Secondary safety endpoints: in Hospital Target lesion failure (TLF); Target Lesion Failure at 30 days; definite or probable stent thrombosis; procedural angiographic safety endpoints. Secondary effectiveness endpoints: device crossing and IVL delivery success; angiographic success; QCA (quantitative coronary angiography) outcome; Imaging outcome.
The aim of the GISE study is to confirm the MitraClip safety and improve the device effectiveness in a selected all comers ("more-comers") population with symptomatic severe mitral regurgitation undergoing/undergone Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (TEER) with MitraClip G4.
The purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy of talquetamab subcutaneous(ly) (SC) in combination with daratumumab SC and pomalidomide (Tal-DP) and talquetamab SC in combination with daratumumab SC (Tal-D), respectively, with daratumumab SC in combination with pomalidomide and dexamethasone (DPd).
The purpose of this study is to determine the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) candidate(s) of JNJ-75276617 in combination with AML directed therapies (dose selection) and further to evaluate safety and tolerability of JNJ-75276617 in combination with AML directed therapies at the RP2D(s) (dose expansion).
Specific Aim 1: As shown in the literature, exercise can be a useful tool for treating and improving functional GI disorders. Therefore, the aim is to estimate the effectiveness of an exercise intervention on IBS symptoms as measured by a reduction of at least 50 score points on the IBS- Symptom Severity Scale (IBS-SSS) questionnaire.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurological disorder characterized by motor and non-motor symptoms such as rigidity, bradykinesia, resting tremor, cognitive and autonomic dysfunctions, gait and balance difficulties. The impairment of gait, balance and cognitive performances is partially responsive to dopaminergic medications. This emphasizes the importance of non-pharmacological interventions for people with PD (pwPD). Intensive multidisciplinary motor and cognitive rehabilitation has been proposed as a complementary and effective treatment for managing pwPD. Several structural and physiological mechanisms have been suggested to underpin exercise-induced neuroplastic changes in PD, such as enhanced synaptic strength and preservation of dopamine neurons. To date, studies on brain changes induced by motor and cognitive exercises in pwPD have been small-scaled and uncontrolled. Identifying accessible and measurable biomarkers for monitoring the events induced by intensive motor and cognitive rehabilitation program would help in testing the treatment effectiveness and would allow personalization of rehabilitation strategies by predicting patients' responsiveness. Based on validated clinical assessments of intensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation treatment, the project will test the ability of a new set of biomarkers to evaluate rehabilitative outcomes in a cohort of people with PD.
Medication overuse headache (MOH) is a type of headache caused by excessive use of acute headache or migraine medications (medications used to treat a headache or migraine once it begins). Treatment of MOH usually involves reducing the dose of or discontinuing acute medications. Eptinezumab is a medication used for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults. The main goals of this trial are to learn whether eptinezumab helps reduce the number of days with migraine, the number of days with headache, and acute medication use in adults who have migraine and MOH.
In 2001 Zuk showed that lipoaspirate contains multipotent adipose stem cells (ADSCs) like in the bone marrow, thereby expanding opportunities in multiple fields. ADSCs have emerged as a key element of regenerative medicine surgery due to their ability to differentiate into a variety of different cell lineages. Moreover, their capacity of paracrine secretion of a broad selection of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors makes them highly clinically attractive. More specific, of particular interest are the anti-apoptotic, anti-inflammatory, proangiogenic, immunomodulatory, and anti-scarring effects that have been demonstrated for ADSCs, which effects on wound healing, soft-tissue restoration, and scar remodeling. Nanofat firstly introduced by Tonnard in 2013, is an ultra-purified adipose tissue-derived product that is devoid of mature adipocytes but rich in ADSCs and with regenerative properties. Nanofat represents a particular formulation of adipose grafting because it is liquid and it is easily transferable to tissues by injection. The nanofat because is free of whole adipocytes does not have the side effects of others adipose-derived formulations containing whole adipocytes (microfat, lipofilling, macrofat), such as the formation of deposits, granulomas, oily cysts, keloids. Investigators aim to evaluate the use of nanofat grafting in the treatment in urethral strictures of the female and male urethras.
