There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a Phase 1 dose-escalation study of PRT2527, a potent and highly selective cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 9 inhibitor, in participants with select relapsed or refractory (R/R) hematologic malignancies. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, recommended phase 2 dose (PR2D), and preliminary efficacy of PRT2527 as a monotherapy and in combination with zanubrutinib.
The objective of this observational study is to compare cardiac output evaluation by the Direct Fick method, Indirect Fick method and Thermodiluition in pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients undergoing right heart catheterization (RHC). The main questions it aims to answer are: - Are these methods interchangeable? - Can possible discrepancies influence risk stratification and therapeutic management of PH patients? All consecutive patients aged ≥18 years, referred for RHC for suspected PH, will be included. Exclusion criteria will be contraindications to RHC, cardiac shunts and failure to obtain informed consent. Patients will undergo RHC by a Swan-Ganz catheter through the right internal jugular vein ultrasound-guided cannulation and cardiac output will be calculated using the three above-mentioned methods.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of luspatercept plus best supportive care (BSC) vs placebo plus BSC on anemia in adult participants with α-thalassemia hemoglobin H (HbH) disease and determine the safety and drug levels in adolescent participants.
Systematic, continuative collection of clinical and laboratory data on patients followed at lnfectious Diseases Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, receiving long-acting ART (Phase IV, single-center, prospective, cohort study) PRIMARY ENDOPOINT: Treatment failure over 48 weeks, defined as virological failure (VF) or therapy discontinuation for any reason (TD) SECONDARY ENDPOINTS: Clinical and pharmacological determinants of efficacy, tolerability, toxicity Modifications in risk and incidence of comorbidities Description of drug-resistance in case of VR Efficacy of rescue regimens in case of VF Quality of life and patient's satisfaction
Screening and advances in breast imaging led to a continuous increase of Ductal Carcinoma in situ (DCIS) diagnosis. Whole breast radiotherapy was reported to be effective in reducing the risk of local recurrence in all analyzed patients and tumor characteristics. In order to de-escalate treatment in low and intermediate DCIS, it is possible to investigate the role of partial breast irradiation (PBI). To date, data from available literature supports the hypothesis that PBI is a safe well tolerated therapy that appears to be equivalent to WBI in terms of efficacy and ultimate breast cosmesis.
Irritable bowel syndrome is the most common functional gastrointestinal disease and is characterized by high prevalence and chronic course. The pathology has a strong impact on the quality of life of affected patients and on health and social costs, these related to reduced productivity. The scarce efficacy and heavy side effects of traditional therapies lead these patients to often resort to alternative or complementary therapies. From the evaluation of the evidence of various probiotic preparations and food supplements, the investigators have used a commercial preparation characterized by the presence of bifidobacteria which have demonstrated some efficacy in thinking of improving the quality of life of these patients to evaluate quality of life, ability productivity and trend of some indices of disease severity in a small number of patients. These preliminary data could represent a starting point for more in-depth evaluations, also with placebo-controlled studies.
This is a multicenter, multinational, open-label, one-way cross-over, Phase 3, single-arm study for treatment of hemophilia. The purpose of this study is to measure the frequency of treated bleeding episodes with fitusiran in male adult and adolescent (≥12 years old) participants with hemophilia A or B, with or without inhibitory antibodies to factor VIII or IX who have switched from their prior standard of care treatment. The total study duration will be up to approximately 50 months (200 weeks, 1 study month is equivalent to 4 weeks) and will include: - A screening period up to approximately 60 days, - A standard of care (SOC) period of approximately 6 study months (24 weeks), - A fitusiran treatment period of approximately 36 study months (144 weeks), - An antithrombin (AT) follow-up period of approximately 6 study months (24 weeks) but may be shorter or longer depending on individual participants AT recovery. The frequency for telephone visits will be approximately every 2 weeks. For site visits the frequency will be approximately every 8 weeks during the SOC period and approximately every 4 weeks during the fitusiran treatment period. If applicable and if allowed by local regulation, home and/or remote visits may be conducted during the study
This study aims to examine the efficacy and safety of obexelimab for the prevention of flare of IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD)
The goals of this project are to build an experimental tool to dissect out in vivo pancreatic beta cell mass (BCM) and beta cell function (BCF) and to assess for the first time these two determinants of beta cell functional mass (BCFxM) in obesity and in various stages of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The primary objective is to confirm the clinical performance and safety of the GORE® VIATORR® TIPS (Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt) Endoprosthesis with Controlled Expansion throughout the device functional lifetime of 3 years in real world setting. The secondary objective is to collect information on quality of life after treatment with the GORE® VIATORR® TIPS Endoprosthesis with Controlled Expansion. Additionally, data will be collected on the safety and performance of the GORE TIPS Set when utilized.
