NCT ID: NCT00120094 Terminated - Syncope Clinical Trials

International Study on Syncope of Uncertain Etiology

Start date: June 2002
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Observational

This is a multi-center, prospective, observational study enrolling 400 patients with suspected or certain neurally-mediated syncope, who undergo carotid sinus massage, tilt testing and Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR)implantation. In its second phase, which starts after the first ILR-documented syncope, the study will register the patient outcome after administration of ILR-guided therapy, which is left to the discretion of the physicians. The main objective is to verify the value of ILR in assessing the mechanism of syncope and the efficacy of the ILR-guided therapy after syncope recurrence.

NCT ID: NCT00118573 Terminated - Clinical trials for Aortic Aneurysm, Abdominal

Comparison of Surveillance Versus Aortic Endografting for Small Aneurysm Repair

CAESAR
Start date: September 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Objective of the present study is to compare endovascular repair versus surveillance and, eventually delay treatment in patients with small abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), with respect to patient survival, AAA rupture and AAA related death risks.

NCT ID: NCT00110123 Terminated - Metastatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Intravenous or Hepatic Arterial Infusion of Fotemustine in Treating Patients With Unresectable Liver Metastases From Eye Melanoma

Start date: January 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fotemustine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving the drugs in different ways may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether giving fotemustine as an intravenous infusion is more effective than giving it as a hepatic arterial infusion in treating liver metastases. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying intravenous infusion of fotemustine to see how well it works compared to hepatic arterial infusion of fotemustine in treating patients with unresectable liver metastases from eye melanoma.

NCT ID: NCT00108433 Terminated - Bacteremia Clinical Trials

Linezolid in the Treatment of Hemodialysis Patients With Catheter-Related Gram-Positive Bloodstream Infections

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will treat hemodialysis patients who have a central catheter that is thought to be infected with a specific bacteria (Gram positive bacteria).

NCT ID: NCT00104624 Terminated - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Docetaxel in Treating Older Women With Metastatic Breast Cancer

Start date: May 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well docetaxel works in treating older women with metastatic breast cancer and whether it helps improve the ability to perform daily activities.

NCT ID: NCT00104429 Terminated - HIV Infection Clinical Trials

Study type: Interventional

This study is a 96-week study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of GW873140 in combination with Combivir in HIV infected, untreated subjects.

NCT ID: NCT00102778 Terminated - HIV Infection Clinical Trials

GW873140 In Combination With Kaletra In HIV Infected Subjects

Start date: December 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is a 96-week study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of GW873140 in combination with Kaletra in HIV infected, untreated subjects.

NCT ID: NCT00102128 Terminated - Clinical trials for Ischemic Heart Disease

Study to Examine the Safety and Effectiveness of Implanted Skeletal Muscle Cells (Cells Removed From the Thigh Muscle) Into Scarred Areas of Heart Muscle After Heart Attack.

Start date: November 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Study to examine the safety and effectiveness of implanted skeletal muscle cells (cells removed from the thigh muscle) into scarred areas of heart muscle after heart attack.

NCT ID: NCT00099879 Terminated - Clinical trials for Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Study of BMS-275183 in Patients With Pre-treated Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if BMS-275183 can shrink or slow the growth of the cancer in subjects with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The safety of this treatment will also be studied.

NCT ID: NCT00099203 Terminated - Pain Clinical Trials

A Study to Assess the Efficacy of Intravenous Bondronat (Ibandronate) in Patients With Malignant and Painful Bone Disease

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 2 arm study will compare the efficacy of intravenous Bondronat with that of zoledronic acid in patients with malignant bone disease experiencing moderate to severe pain. Patients will be randomized to receive either Bondronat (6mg iv on days 1, 2 and 3 and then every 3-4 weeks) or zoledronic acid (4mg iv on day 1 and then every 3-4 weeks). The anticipated time of study treatment is 6-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
