There are about 21062 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Italy. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is phase IIa 24-week, prospective, randomized, double-blind placebo controlled study. The study is designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of transdermal patch of Rotigotine (RTG) versus placebo (PLC) as add-on therapy with AChEI in patients with mild AD according to the consensus diagnostic criteria and MMSE score of ≥18 and ≤24 at screening. Two groups of patients with mild AD will be involved (50 patients each). One group will be assigned to treatment with RTG 4 mg and the other one to PLC as add on to AChEI therapy (Rivastigmine). Clinical and neurophysiological measurements will be collected before and after drug administration.
This is a randomized, multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled study designed to evaluate the efficacy of crenolanib administered following salvage chemotherapy, consolidation chemotherapy, post bone marrow transplantation and as maintenance in relapsed/refractory AML subjects with FLT3 activating mutation.
This is a pharmacogenomic prospective , four-arms, parallel groups, active comparator controlled study in essential hypertensive patients never treated before. Each patient will be genotyped for SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphism) in preliminary genetic profiles and will be treated according to their genetic profile with Peri (Perindopril) 4 mg or HCTZ ( hydrochlorothiazide) 12.5 mg.
Some human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) breast cancer patients do not respond or become resistant to current treatment. DS-8201a is a new experimental product that is a combination of an antibody and a drug. It has not yet been approved for use. DS-8201a may slow down tumor growth. This might improve outcomes for these patients.
The goal of asthma treatment is to achieve and maintain asthma control and to reduce the future risk of exacerbations. Inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are considered as the most effective anti- inflammatory treatment for all severities of persistent asthma. For children >=5 years of age and adolescents whose asthma is uncontrolled, low-dose ICS plus adjunctive therapy with long-acting beta agonist (LABA) is considered as effective. Thus, this study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of FF (ICS component)/VI (LABA component) compared to FF alone for the treatment of asthma, in subjects aged 5 to 17 years old currently uncontrolled on ICS. The study will be conducted over a total duration of approximately 29 weeks: 4 week run-in period, 24-week double-blind treatment period and 1-week follow-up period. Subjects will be randomized to receive FDC of FF/VI or FF administered via ELLIPTA® dry powder inhaler (DPI). The dose of both FF/VI and FF alone will be selected based on the age of subjects. Subjects will receive a short acting beta 2 agonist (SABA) (albuterol /salbutamol) as a rescue medication throughout the study. A total of 870 subjects will be randomized in the study. Of this, 652 subjects will be aged 5 to 11 years (cohort A), and 218 will be aged 12 to 17 years inclusive (cohort B). ELLIPTA is a registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) group of companies.
the aim of this study protocol is to describe, using a longitudinal study, a multimodal approach of treatment of cervical dystonia with botulinum toxin (BoNTA) and a new rehabilitation protocol named SPRInt (Sensory-motor perceptive rehabilitation integrated) approach based on motor learning techniques and spatial rehabilitation.
The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate whether the effect of bio-feedback dysphagia treatment is more effective than a control treatment in post-stroke patients. This study will be a randomized, single-blind controlled pilot study. The investigators intend to recruit 40 patients who have suffered a stroke and have dysphagia. Twenty patients will undergo training with bio-feedback (experimental group) and the other 20 patients will undergo standard training, using only verbal feedback rather than visual feedback (control group). The authors hypothesize that in the control group the efficacy of the treatment will be lower in the absence of immediate visual feedback of strength and coordination of the swallowing act.
A total of 122 subjects were randomized into the study and investigated in the double-blind placebo-controlled setting to assess the efficacy and safety of G-CSF + BL-8040 as compared to G-CSF + placebo.
The Phase 1 part of the study is conducted to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and Recommended Phase 2 Dose (RP2D) of eribulin mesilate in combination with irinotecan hydrochloride in pediatric participants with relapsed/refractory solid tumors (excluding central nervous system [CNS] tumors). The Phase 2 part of the study is conducted to assess the objective response rate (ORR) and duration of response (DOR) of eribulin mesilate in combination with irinotecan hydrochloride in pediatric participants with relapsed/refractory rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), non-rhabdomyosarcoma soft tissue sarcoma (NRSTS) and ewing sarcoma (EWS).
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) analysis has been studied in the critically ill patients although it is affected by several uncontrolled variables in the clinical conditions. The aim of this trial is to measure the effects of mildly reduced central volume and cyclic variation of intrathoracic pressure on the variables frequently used to describe the HRV.
