There are about 5618 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in India. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare the results in subjects with periodontitis using subjects own blood - Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with bone graft material, namely, Demineralized Freeze - Dried Bone Allograft (DFDBA) or DFDBA alone in the treatment of bone defects around the teeth.
The purpose of this study is to learn about the safety and immune response of 20vPnC in adults in India. This study is seeking participants who: - are generally healthy adults of 18 years or older. - have not received pneumococcal vaccine. The study will have 2 groups based on age. One group will have particpants between 18 to 49 years of age. The other group will have participants of 50 years or older. Participants will take part in the study for about one month which includes two visits to the study clinic. Participants will receive a single dose of study vaccine (20vPnC) into the arm at visit 1 and will come to study site for a follow-up visit after about a month. The study team will ask questions about the participant's health and blood samples will be taken in a subset of participants during the visits.
A proof of science/concept clinical study with single-arm, single-blind, to evaluate safety, efficacy and in-use tolerability study of Herbal Supplement in adult human subjects having difficulty in falling asleep. A total of up to 32 subject will be enrolled to get 30 completed subject in the study.
The present study will be conducted at the Department of Physiology in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry of R.D. Gardi Medical College, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. This double-blind randomized controlled trial will remotely enroll 60 subjects. Each participant will complete 20 stimulation sessions at a rate of 3-5 sessions per week. Each session will be 30 minutes on the day of usage. The study will be randomized with a 1:1 active; or sham control allocation. Endpoint analysis will be performed upon completion of the study.
The free gingival graft (FGG) procedure is a harvesting technique that creates an open wound that heals by secondary intention. Retarded wound healing, excessive bleeding, and postoperative pain have been reported after FGG procedures. Hemostatic agents include ferric sub-sulfate solution, absorbable synthetic collagen, absorbable gelatin sponge, or oxidized regenerated cellulose. The agents are often combined with a surgical stent designed to cover the donor site, providing protection and pressure hemostasis. Diode laser also exhibits excellent thermal effects with deep tissue penetrative properties, to enhance coagulation. Laser Bandage (LB) could also enhance wound healing and reduce subjective postoperative complications in the palatal donor area after harvesting FGG similarly.
Alcoholic hepatitis is related to very high mortality rate. About 40% of the patients died within first 6 months after the detection of the clinical syndrome. Therefore, it is very essential for proper diagnosis and early treatment . In response to acute or chronic liver damage, bone marrow derived stem cells can spontaneously populate liver and differentiate into hepatic cells. Animal and human studies suggested that injured hepatocyte may be replaced by pluripotent bone marrow cells. However, this hepatocyte repopulation is highly dependent on varieties of liver injury and therapeutic conditions. The studies have suggested Granulocyte-colony stimulating factors (G-CSF) can regenerate hepatocyte by fusing with hematopoietic cells, thereby enhancing the liver histology and survival rate. G-CSF is a cytokine capable to regulate a number of functions in neutrophils. In three recent studies mobilization of bone marrow stem cells induced by G-CSF was observed in patients with alcoholic hepatitis. In two of these studies there was a survival benefit with the use of G-CSF. Alcoholism leads to decrease in endogenous antioxidant potential. Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) patients show low endogenous antioxidants. Chronic ethanol consumption cause selective deficiency in the availability of reduced glutathione (GSH) in mitochondria has been reported. This is due to impaired functioning of GSH transporter from cytosol to mitochondrial matrix. The effect on glutathione replenishing potential by N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) can be used to reduce oxidative stress, which also has excellent safety profile. Therefore, NAC can be used for severe alcoholic hepatitis treatment due to its therapeutic potential factor. NAC also inhibit apoptosis and pro-inflammatory cytokine production. In a study high doses of intravenous N-acetyl cysteine therapy for 14 days conferred neither survival benefits nor early biological improvement in severe acute alcoholic hepatitis patients with adequate nutritional support. However, these results must be viewed with caution, since the study suffered from a lack of power. In a recent study, NAC and corticosteroids combination therapy benefits among patients with severe acute alcoholic hepatitis in 1 month survival, although the final outcome at 6 month survival was not improved. There are no studies on the use of combination therapy of 4 weeks of NAC plus G-CSF in patient with severe alcoholic hepatitis. Therefore the investigators plan to study the safety and efficacy of combination therapy of G-CSF and 4 weeks of NAC in the patients with alcoholic hepatitis.
The present study is a randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, double-blind clinical study. Seventy-eight individuals will be screened, and considering a screening failure rate of 20%, approximately 64 participants will be randomized in a ratio of 1:1 to receive either BioPB-01 or Placebo
The present study is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, parallel group study to assess the gut health effects of IP as compared to a placebo in normal, overweight and obese individuals experiencing gut issues. Approximately 94 will be randomized into 1:1 ratio to either receive IP or Placebo.
This non-interventional, retrospective, observational, noncomparative, non-randomized, single-arm, multi-centre study included patients (≥50 years) diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) in at least 1 eye. Anonymized data of patients treated with brolucizumab intravitreal injection (IVI) who had received the first dose of brolucizumab between 01 October 2020 and 31 March 2021 was collected. Patients could either be treatment-naïve or previously treated with single or a combination of other IVI of anti-vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs). The primary outcome measure was the change in fluid levels (intra-retinal fluid [IRF], sub-retinal fluid [SRF], and pigment epithelial detachment [PED]) from baseline to Month 3. Secondary outcome measures included change in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central retinal thickness (CRT), number of brolucizumab injections, and safety (number of adverse events [AEs]). Descriptive statistics were tabulated for the demographic and clinical characteristics as well as outcome variables.
Head and neck cancer (HNC) is the sixth most common cancer worldwide, accounting for 2.8% of all malignancies. The presence of tumor itself, as well as the treatment, can result in neuromuscular damage affecting any stage of the swallowing. Organ-sparing care has become more common in recent years, however, that this does not always imply functional preservation. Dysphagia and aspiration both can occur and can have complex causes. Normal swallowing has oral preparatory phase, pharyngeal phase, and the oesophageal phase, it is important to know what is the dysfunction and where. This study aim to evaluate the preoperative and postoperative swallowing function in patients with head neck cancer using electromyography (EMG) and video fluoroscopy.
