There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Substudy 02B is part of a larger research study that is testing experimental treatments for melanoma, a type of skin cancer. The larger study is the umbrella study. The goal of substudy 02B is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of investigational treatment arms in participants with 1L advanced melanoma and to identify the investigational agent(s) that, when used in combination, are superior to the current treatment options/pembrolizumab monotherapy. Arm 1: Pembrolizumab + Vibostolimab was added in the base protocol on 13-Nov-2019, and enrollment into this arm has been completed. Arm 2: Pembrolizumab was added in the base protocol on 13-Nov-2019, and enrollment stopped prematurely on 15-Aug-2022. Arm 3: Coformulation Pembrolizumab/Quavonlimab was added in Amendment 01 on 20-Oct-2020, and enrollment stopped prematurely on 15-Aug-2022. Arm 4: Coformulation Pembrolizumab/Quavonlimab + Lenvatinib was added in Amendment 01 on 20-Oct-2020, and enrollment is ongoing. Arm 5: Coformulation Favezelimab/Pembrolizumab, Arm 6: Coformulation Favezelimab/Pembrolizumab + All-trans Retinoic Acid (ATRA), and Arm 7: Coformulation Favezelimab/Pembrolizumab + Vibostolimab were added in Amendment 04 on 10-May-2023, and enrollment for these arms will be initiated in July 2023.
The investigator is hypothesize that physical activity can have positive effects on health, general well-being , sleep quality and stress in Inflammatory Bowel Disease patients.
Patients undergoing thoracotomy, thoracoscopy or other surgical procedures involving the integrity of the chest wall are always in a special point of interest of both surgical and anesthesiological specialities. Most of the patients will describe the pain after thoracic surgery as severe. It might lead to a number of serious complications: respiratory failure due to splinting; inability to clear secretions by effective coughing, with resulting pneumonia; and turning into a chronic pain: the post-thoracotomy pain syndrome. Traditional pain management in these groups of patients — such as opiate treatment, thoracic epidural analgesia, and non-opioid drugs — may have serious side effects. Large doses of opiates suppress the cough reflex and lead to respiratory depression with subsequent re-intubation and re-ventilation. Thoracic epidural analgesia, though being considered paramount among other analgesic options, requires a significant clinical experience. Still, it might be insufficient for satisfactory pain control and even complicated with pneumothorax, total spinal anaesthesia and inadvertent intravascular injection. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Tramadol are weak analgesics inadequate for severe pain control and might be responsible for gastrointestinal bleeding. We suggest performing erector spinae plane block for intraoperative and postoperative pain management due to the ease of use and better analgesic effect. What remains is hard proof for the clinical efficacy and safety of this block, followed by a demonstration of the uptake of it in the hands of non-regional anaesthetists.
Despite surgical advances, up to 50% of patients with high-risk locally advanced prostate cancer will die from their disease. Drug therapy before surgery has the potential to improve treatment success by lowering tumor volume in the prostate and treating small metastases. PET PSMA is an advanced imaging technique that allows the identification of areas involved by the tumor in the prostate or in the pelvis. This technique is based on the protein PSMA (prostate-specific membrane antigen) which is located on the tumor cells. The presence of PSMA on tumor cells has been recently used for treatment purposes. A chemical element (Lutetium) that binds to PSMA and emits local radiation can destroy tumors cells. This treatment has been used in patients with advanced metastatic disease and showed promising results. The investigators hypothesized that using these particles can improve long term results in patients who undergo surgery for prostate cancer which has not extensively spread. The investigators will assess both the immediate and long-term impact of this novel treatment.
Women will participate in a workshop within a group and individual meetings. the workshop will include providing information regarding guidelines for healthy eating, engaging in physical activity, personal training tools to build self-efficacy and to encourage implementing a healthy life style.
In the BP-CON-ESH study we are going to include and analyze treated hypertensive patients seen consecutively by the ESH Excellence Centres. Blood pressure will be measured as usually done in the office, but care will be adopted to make measurements highly standardized in all Centres. The primary goals will be to determine the global, regional and country rates of hypertension control in Europe. Other goals will be to identify global and regional factors associated with blood pressure control in different European regions. The results obtained in the BP-CON-ESH project will be used to refine treatment strategies for improvement of blood pressure control and will serve as a basis for assessing future changes and trends in Europe.
Health care decisions should include patients' health outcome goals and care preferences so as to enable a unified set of individualized patient outcome goals, rather than disparate disease-specific goals that do not reflect patient choice and commitment. This study utilizes a skilled professional interview and a simple tablet-based tool to enable patient choice of health behavior goals. The tool guides the patient to choose a specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-based (SMART) goal. The hypothesis of this study is that the implementation this patient choice tool will increase the likelihood of patient adherence to the goal and increase patient self efficacy.
Aim: To examine the feasibility of a new treatment protocol in improving executive function deficits and participation in daily activities of adults with TBI at discharge and one month post-discharge. A double-blind (assessors) randomized control trial (RCT) with two groups, experimental and control. This study will include 40 adults hospitalized in the inpatient Head Trauma unit. Potential patients will be approached by occupational therapists working in the inpatient Head Trauma rehabilitation unit and be invited to participate in the study. If they agree, they will be asked to sign an informed consent form. Then they will undergo a screening assessment. Participants who are found eligible will be then administered a cognitive assessment battery. Then they will be randomly allocated to either the experimental (new treatment protocol) or the control (conventional therapy) group. In both groups, the intervention will include 18 treatment sessions of 45 minutes, between three to five times a week depending on the participant's state, over a period of four to six weeks. Following the intervention, participants will undergo the assessment again. Participation questionnaires will be administered by telephone one month post-discharge.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of aerobic eccentric training in overweight and obese children.
Study hypotheses: 1. Children with headaches will show significantly higher sensory reactivity, higher anxiety level and lower quality of life that health controls. 2. Among children with headaches, sensory reactivity will significantly correlate with higher anxiety level and lower quality of life. 3. Among children with headaches quality of life will be predicted by sensory reactivity and anxiety level. Study significance: This is one of the first studies to explore the role of sensory reactivity and its relation to the psychological (anxiety) aspects among children and youth with headaches. Moreover, by using an elaborated point of view this study also measures the interaction between these factors and the child's quality of life. Referring to this interaction is critical for the intervention process in the meaning of: (a) helping determine whether pediatric headaches is best conceptualized as a CNS disorder, an emotional disorder, or some hybrid (b) increasing physicians' recognition of headaches pathogenesis and related outcomes, encouraging physicians to refer in the intake and intervention to both children and parents and when needed - to consider mental health services for child/parents. (c) to illuminate the physiological/psychological factors that have the most significant impact on QOL of children with headaches. Methods: Participants: The sample will include 60 children aged 8-18 years. The study group will include 30 children diagnosed with Primary headache - Migraine or TTH. They will be recruited from the pediatric neurological clinic in Bnai-Zion Health Center. The control group will include 30 children from the community with typical development and no history of chronic headaches or another chronic disease, no ADHD or learning disabilities, matched by age, gender and socio-economic status to the study group. Inclusion criteria for the study group: Children with Primary headaches diagnosed as Migraine or TTH between 8-18 years of age. Exclusion criteria for the sample group Evidence of an inflammatory, anatomic, metabolic, or neoplastic process that explains the subject's symptoms.
