There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
We wish to study which method of local injection of analgesic (before or during surgery) is the more effective method to reduce post-operative pain in children. In addition, we wish to study which pre-operative educational intervention is more effective in reducing anxiety in children and their family.
Transradial access is a recently developed alternative for diagnostic andf interventional cardiac catheterization. We sought to compare the differences between patients that have undergone PTCA transradial and transfemoral access from the nursing point of view: 1. Anxiety levels 2. Pain at access point, pain in general and level of pain during mobility 3. Differences in feelings of embarrassement 4. Differences in satisfaction
In vitro maturation of oocytes after minimal gonadotropin stimulation in patients with polycystic ovaries, to prevent cases of ovarian hyperstimulation.
Genetic etiology in schizophrenia is widely accepted. However, many chromosomal sites were shown to characterize the families of patients with schizophrenia. This is probably due to the high genetic heterogenity of this illness. Thus, it is important to investigate the genetic factor in relatively genetically homogenous populations. Many studies have indicate that Ashkenazy Jews show relative gentic homogenity. Indeed, the genes responsible for most Mendelian disorders of Jewish peoples have been identified. The study will apply genome-wide mutation screening methods to identify candidate allells in subjects of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry with multiplex schizophrenia.
Persistent postnatal ductal patency may have significant adverse hemodynamic effects, frequently necessitating therapeutic intervention in order to facilitate ductal closure. Medical therapy for patency of the ductus arteriosus is successful mediating ductal closure in approximately 70% of treated infants. In a recent study in our population, 17% of the babies showed no ductal response to the first course of treatment and 9.4% of our study infants eventually underwent surgical ligation of the ductus after failure of medical therapeutic closure. We propose to evaluate and compare two alternate therapeutic approaches to ductal closure in babies who do not respond to initial therapy.
Sleep studies in ESRD patients have identified increased prevalence of Sleep Apnea. Based on current knowledge, treatment aimed at reducing oxidative stress might improve Sleep Apnea in HD patients. The aim of our study is to investigate the effect of N-acetylsysteine on Sleep Apnea in HD patients.
OptEase filters are easier to retrieve but the dwell time is shorter than the Gunter filters. There are more thrombi on the OptEase than on the Gunter at the time of retrieval. OptEase filter has a better infitration capabillity due to its diamond shape. OptEase filters will hjave more IVC occlusions as a complication.
We hypothesize that melatonin as compared to PPI and to placebo, improves GERD symptoms by decreasing esophageal acid exposure and esophageal acid sensitivity in GERD. We hypothesize that melatonin as compared to PPI and to placebo reduce the frequency and duration of transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations (TLESRs). In addition we hypothesize that melatonin as compared to PPI and to placebo improves quality of life and quality of sleep of GERD patients.
The purpose is to evaluate autoantibodies in infective endocarditis patients before, at the beginning of treatment, and after the end of the treatment, and to correlate the autoantibodies in the presence of clinical symptoms.
The study purpose is to prospectively collect data for a set of predefined variables in clinical cases where coronary plaque lipid characterization by IVMRI was performed during diagnostic or interventional procedures in order to gather incremental information beyond angiography and other diagnostic modalities.
