There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Purpose of the study was to demonstrate the efficacy of secukinumab versus placebo on palmoplantar psoriasis and to assess the long term efficacy, safety and tolerability of secukinumab.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease with variable severity, and a predisposition for lung infection. Usually severity is determined by the class of CF mutations, but even among patients with the same severity of mutations there is a variation of the severity of CF. Haptoglobin has several types (phenotypes), one of them was found to be related to infectious complications. In this study the investigators aim to find a correlation between Haptoglobin phenotypes in patients with CF and frequency of infectious complications. To this end the investigators will collect serum from CF patients, and determine their Haptoglobin protein phenotype. The investigators will correlate Haptoglobin phenotype to retrospectively gathered data on infectious complications.
Presently no generally effective treatments for tardive dyskinesia (TD) are available. D-serine is a naturally occurring amino acid that acts in-vivo as positive allosteric modulator at the glycine site associated with the glutamatergic NMDA receptor. Previous studies have suggested that D-serine may improve motor symptoms, including dyskinesias, which are caused by treatment with presently used antipsychotics drugs. The hypothesis under investigation in the present study is that D-serine adjuvant treatment may improve TD in schizophrenia patients diagnosed with this disorder.
The purpose of this study is to collect long-term safety and efficacy data for participants treated with ibrutinib and to provide ongoing access to ibrutinib for participants who are currently enrolled in ibrutinib studies that have been completed according to the parent protocol, are actively receiving treatment with ibrutinib, and who continue to benefit from ibrutinib treatment.
Post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD, is one of the most prevalent psychiatric disorders. As casualties of motor vehicle accidents, criminal acts or terrorism are arriving to the ER, it is almost impossible to conclude who will overcome his psychiatric trauma and will be able to return to his normal life course and who will be thrown out of his promising life trajectory. Current attempts to identify those who are at the greatest risk are still unsatisfactory, which comprise a therapeutic dilemma, since the interventions used to ameliorate and prevent the occurrence of PTSD in a high-risk patient, might be counter-productive and even precipitate the emergence of PTSD in lower-risk patients. Since PTSD is closely related to the "Fight, Flight or Freeze" reaction, it has much to do with the autonomic nervous system and the major stress hormone, cortisol. Despite many studies demonstrating the involvement of those factors in the development of PTSD, various attempts to profile the direction of the association between PTSD and cortisol abnormalities have yielded conflicting results. The introduction of a novel method of assessing the excretion of cortisol using residues in the human hair shaft, has allowed an unprecedented evaluation of its activity over a prolonged period of time. Using this novel method of cortisol assessment, the investigators aim to identify biomarkers that will be able to aid in the prediction of PTSD development ahead of symptoms emergence, and will enhance the understanding of the physiological mechanism involved and etiology of this disorder.
Clinical diagnosis of amniotic fluid leak will be determined, according the hospital standard procedure, using pooling test and/or sterile speculum examination and /or pH test, and AmniSure, N-Dia, Inc. (immunoassay for diagnosis of ruptured fetal membranes (ROM)). Amniotic fluid leak test, using the AL- SENSE 1-Step device, will be considered positive in case of presence of a blue or green or grey stain on a yellow background of the AL-SENSE 1-Step, as observed by the patient and the clinician (positive/negative).
The primary objective of the study is to establish whether budesonide/formoterol fumarate dihydrate (BF) Spiromax 160/4.5 micrograms (mcg) is as effective as Symbicort Turbohaler 200/6 mcg administered twice daily in participants with persistent asthma.
Closed suction drains are commonly used following surgery, if the wound is expected to discharge significant amounts of fluid. To this date, no evidence base exists as to the exact post operative time period or discharge volume necessitating presence of a drain. In orthopedic common practice, drains are removed on the second post operative day, fearing the drain will serve as a point of entry for nosocomial infection. In this study, drains will be left in place as long as daily discharge volume exceeds 50cc, regardless of the amount of days following surgery. Daily cultures and antibiotic levels will be taken from the drains receptacle, to determine if and when the drains is colonized by aerobic bacteria.
In the proposed study the investigators aim to evaluate the effect of the standard of care dose (40mg) of MMC mixed with TC-3 gel (with sustained release mechanism on the drug) on low risk recurrent NMIBC lesions and to compare our findings to instillation with the standard mode of instillation- 40mg MMC in water in order to examine our hypothesis that MMC mixed with TC-3 gel will have at least non-inferior and even superior results over the standard instillation mode The investigators believe that this study is of importance of several aspects: 1. It evaluates a new mode of bladder instillation that may bypass the drawbacks of the current instillation mode. 2. If proved effective this mode of treatment might save the need of TURBT performance and serve as a new mode of tumor ablation. 3. Even if proved partially effective this mode of treatment will diminish tumors size or number thus enable a more limited TURBT procedure. 4. This mode of treatment will enable immediate medical attendance to the patient's tumor recurrence without the waiting period (resulting from queues in the medical centers) for TURBT, which might improve the patient's prognostic outcome. 5. If this experimental treatment will prove to have a better ablative effect, this could be translated to a better prophylactic effect of tumor recurrence.
The study allowed continued use of single agent panobinostat in patients who were on single agent panobinostat treatment in a Novartis-sponsored study which had met its endpoint and were benefiting from the treatment as judged by the investigator.
