There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The article presents a protocol of a cross-sectional study of mental health of pregnant women in relation to the COVID 19 pandemic. The primary aim is to compare differences in anxiety and depression scores of pregnant women between countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The secondary aim is to assess demographic, economic, and social aspects affecting maternal anxiety and depression scores among pregnant women worldwide in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, investigators will be able to compare differences in perception of the different aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic (social distancing, restrictions related to delivery) between countries and according to the epidemic status (number of infected patients, number of reported deaths). The comparisons will also be done according to COVID-19 status of the participants.
Prospective, dose-escalating mono-center open label dose-finding study without control group (3+3 design), including a follow-up on-treatment observation. In this study will be recruited 15 patients with a histologically or cytologically confirmed diagnosis of an advanced malignant disease during a therapy-free interval.Investigational drug:Iscador®P: fermented aqueous extract of mistletoe grown on pine tree (Viscum album L. subspecies austriacum (Wiesb.) Vollmann), licensed for subcutaneous (SC) application in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, and South Korea in dosages up to 20 mg. The initial dose group of the study is set to 40 mg Iscador®P.
Ventilation of a bearded patient with the commonly used face mask has low efficiency because of difficulties to achieve a tight seal around the mouth and nose. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a novel bag valve Guedel adaptor (BVGA) that enables the direct connection of a bag valve device to a Guedel - eliminating the need for a face mask in anesthetized bearded men.
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is the most common neurological cancer treatment complication. Medical cannabis is indicated in Israel for the treatment of chronic pain, spasticity and for the control of pain and other symptoms in patients with cancer. The proposed study aims are to study about the changes in level of endocannabinoids following continuous exposure to phytocannabinoids and about the long-term effect of medical cannabis on CIPN.
In recent decades, medical student interest in a career in mental health appear to be in decline, possibly due to the perception that the scientific foundation of psychiatry and psychopharmacology is weaker compared to other fields of medicine. In an effort to examine ways of improving the current nomenclature in Psychopharmacology, in 2008 the nomenclature taskforce was initiated, composed of representatives from five international organizations: ECNP - European College of Neuropsychopharmacology, ACNP - American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, AsCNP - Asian College of Neuropsychopharmacology, CINP - International College of Neuropsychopharmacology, IUPHAR - International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology.2 The result of this effort is the Neuroscience based Nomenclature (NbN) - a pharmacologically driven nomenclature that focuses on reflecting current knowledge and on the understanding of the neural system being modified this research is the first that examine whether putting greater emphasis on neuroscience in the teaching of psychotropics, through the use of the new NbN terminology, achieve the goal of improving medical students views on psychiatry.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an emerging pandemic in 2020 caused by a novel coronavirus named SARS-CoV2. Diabetes confers a significant additional risk for COVID-19 patients. Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed ubiquitously in many tissues. In addition to its effect on glucose levels, DPP-4 has various effects on the immune system and several diseases, including lung diseases. This trial aims to assess the safety and efficacy of linagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, in the treatment of COVID-19. The trial will be randomized without blinding, with one are treated by insulin only for glucose balance and the other by insulin and linagliptin. The trial will assess the effects of linagliptin on different measures of COVID-19 recovery.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pamrevlumab versus placebo in combination with systemic corticosteroids in participants with non-ambulatory Duchenne muscular dystrophy (age 12 years and older).
The primary objectives of this study are to assess the safety/tolerability and efficacy (by evaluating changes in pulmonary vascular resistance [PVR] and pulmonary blood volume [PBV]) of MK-5475 in participants with pulmonary hypotension associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (PH-COPD). The primary hypothesis is that 28 days of MK-5475 treatment is superior to placebo treatment in reduction of PVR.
Obstructive Sleep apnea carries a variety of complications and implications. While the disease could be treated using continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and lifestyle changes, many patients find it difficult to adjust to the mask, and turn to surgical options. The conventional surgical options to date ranges from radical (UPPP) to individualized, with or without Drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE). Previous studies showed that dise directed surgery can be useful for specific conditions. No trials were found to test in-office encompassing minimal invasive surgical treatment (RF palatoplasty , RF tonsillotomy, RF turbinectomy, and RF base-of-tongue reduction) as a viable alternative..
This study aims at investigating handwashing behavior during COVID-19 pandemic. It was hypothesized that social-cognitive and emotional predictors as well as COVID-19 morbidity and mortality rates within the country would be associated with handwashing behavior in the general population of adults in 14 countries.
