There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
We will evaluate the effect of a short-term aerobic exercise program as an adjuvant treatment in patients with depression undergoing standard clinical antidepressant medication therapy as compared to the effect of stretching exercise. In addition, the effect of exercise on plasma biological markers will be examined and observed changes correlated with clinical antidepressant effects. We hypothesize that the aerobic exercise group will achieve a significantly higher response rates of depressive symptoms, will also have a greater degree of change in the plasma markers, than the control stretching group.
occult hip fractures present to the emergency room with a history of trauma,a painful hip and normal X-ray. these patients usually undergo other imaging modalities such as CT scans, MRI, or bone scans. In this study we check the sensitivity and specificity of a directed ultrasound examination of the hip joint in diagnosing or excluding a hip fracture. We also compare the results of ultrasound examination by the orthopedic surgeon in the emergency room versus the consultant radiologist. The patients undergo bone scans or CT to make the diagnosis.
Hip fractures are usually classified according to their X-ray as subcapital, pertrochanteric. We examine hip fractures with ultrasound in order to characterize the fractures with several parameters.
The cognitive function of 150 patients that undergone any Radiotherapy treatment to the brain will be assessed at 3 time points before and after the treatment.
This study is a prospective, open label, controlled, single center study. 40 patients will be recruited for the study, according to patients’ inflow and meeting eligibility criteria. Primary Goal * To evaluate the safety of the GlucoSat technology as a non-invasive blood glucose level measurement technology. Secondary Goal * To assess the efficacy of the GlucoSat technology as a non-invasive blood glucose level measurement technology.
Most of the patients suffering from renal colic have a distal ureterolithiasis. It had been demonstrated that α adrenoreceptors antagonists, given to patients suffering from renal colic, due to distal ureterolithiasis, had increased the frequency of stone expulsion rate , reduced the time to expulsion and reduced analgesics consumption. Most of the studies evaluated the efficacy of Tamsulosin, which is a selective α 1A and α 1D adrenoreceptors antagonist.(The lower intramural portion of the ureter, where it passes through the detrusor muscle contains mostly α 1D and α 1A adrenergic receptors) Only one study these days describes the use of Alfuzosin, which is an α adrenergic receptor blocker and not selective for any α 1 adrenergic receptor, for expulsion of distal ureteric stones.Alfuzosin is a drug with a proven efficacy and considered uroselective with high specificity and sensitivity, for the treatment of BPH. There was no significant difference in efficacy between the two α blockers (Alfuzosin vs. Tamsulosin) concerning symptoms relief or flow improvement. The objective of this study is to compare patient who would receive the standard treatment for distal ureterolithiasis (analgesics, Rowatinex) to patients who would receive also a non selective α blocker (Alfuzosin) or a selective α blocker (Tamsulosin). This in order to evaluate the efficacy of treatment with α blockers for expulsion of distal ureterolithiasis.
Skill acquisition refers to the process of improvement of performance following practice experience. This process is the basis for generation of a long-lasting memory. Individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have been shown to be impaired on some performance aspects of previously learned skills, an impairment that is often ameliorated, at least temporarily, by psychostimulant medication (the standard therapy in ADHD). The proposed study aims to define the course of learning and of generation of long-term memory consolidation in individuals with ADHD, and to essay the effectiveness of psychostimulant medication on both the learning and retention of the skills.
Examining the hypothesis that protecting keratinocytes by calcipotriol can prevent in-vivo cutaneous side effect in patients receiving radiotherapy to the breast. To check the connection between the skin effect of radiotherapy and different parameters including diseases such as diabetes and lupus, use of medications, allergies, weight, habits, size of the irradiated breast, previous chemotherapy treatment and exposure to sunlight.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether a new laser system provides better safety and efficacy in hair removal than existing lasers.
The purpose of this protocol is to develop a detailed MRI technique and haemodynamic maps enabling early detection of colorectal metastases in the liver.
