NCT ID: NCT04948762 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

A Contemporary Review of Surgical Approaches in Pelvic Exenterative Surgery

Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Minimally-invasive surgery (MIS) techniques have revolutionised the approach to rectal cancer surgery. With increasing experience, surgeons have began to utilise these platforms increasingly in the context of pelvic exenteration (PE). This observational retrospective review plans to assess the volume of PE being performed on a global basis and to assess the comparative outcomes associated with each technique in order to assess the optimal approach to radical pelvic surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04946981 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Recovery and Muscle Function After Supplementation With Turmeric

RECOFAST
Start date: July 12, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the study is to test the capacity of a five-day supplementation of Turmipure Gold® to improve exercise-induced muscle pain and function recovery in moderately active adults after exercise-induced muscle damage

NCT ID: NCT04944784 Terminated - Clinical trials for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Reldesemtiv in Patients With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

COURAGE-ALS
Start date: August 16, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of reldesemtiv versus placebo on functional outcomes in ALS.

NCT ID: NCT04939649 Recruiting - Bipolar Depression Clinical Trials

Ketamine as an Adjunctive Therapy for Major Depression (2)

KARMA-Dep2
Start date: September 13, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Pragmatic, randomised, controlled, parallel-group, superiority trial of ketamine vs. midazolam as an adjunctive therapy for depression. The main purpose of the trial is to assess the mood-rating score difference between ketamine and midazolam from before the first infusion to 24 hours after the final infusion, supplemented by a 95% confidence interval. There will also be a 24-week follow-up after the final infusion session.

NCT ID: NCT04938128 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Sleep Apnea, Obstructive

Effect of CPAP vs Control on Nocturnal Dipping in Normotensive Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Start date: April 12, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is an open-label, parallel, prospective, randomised control trial evaluating the effect of Continuous Positive airway pressure (CPAP), the standard treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) versus control (diet and lifestyle advice) on dipping status and blood pressure parameters in 100 non-dipper normotensive patients with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea and without established cardiovascular or metabolic disease.

NCT ID: NCT04935034 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Absorption Kinetics and Efficacy of Vitamin D Enriched Supplements in Older Adults.

Start date: July 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The proposed study will examine vitamin D bioavailability when 20µg of vitamin D is consumed in 5 different forms: i) a vitamin D enriched pre-formed mixed micelle dairy drink ii) a vitamin D enriched olive oil dairy drink iii) a vitamin D enriched fish oil dairy drink iv) a vitamin D enriched fat-free dairy drink

NCT ID: NCT04932317 Completed - Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Oral Symptom Assessment Scale (OSAS): Validity and Reliability

Start date: August 5, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Oral (mouth) symptoms are very common and often bothersome in patients with cancer. The best way to assess these symptoms is using a patient-rated symptom assessment scale. A new symptom assessment scale for oral symptoms has been developed and already tested in patients. The purpose of this study is to test the scale again to make sure it is reliable and accurate.

NCT ID: NCT04931862 Terminated - ALS Clinical Trials

Study of WVE-004 in Patients With C9orf72-associated Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)

FOCUS-C9
Start date: June 28, 2021
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 1b/2a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of intrathecal (IT) WVE-004 in adult patients with C9orf72-associated ALS or FTD. To participate in the study, patients must have a documented mutation (GGGGCC [G4C2] repeat expansion) in the first intronic region of the C9orf72 gene and be diagnosed with ALS or FTD.

NCT ID: NCT04931771 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Fractional Flow Reserve or 3D-Quantitative-Coronary-Angiography Based Vessel-FFR Guided Revascularization

Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The FAST III is a randomized controlled, open-label, multicenter, international, non-inferiority, strategy trial. A total of 2228 participants will be randomized in a 1:1 fashion to either vFFR- or FFR guided revascularization. Patients will be consented prior to the procedure and then followed up to 12 (+1) months after randomization. The primary endpoint is analyzed at 12 months after randomization.
