Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

1. To recruit 600 type 2 diabetic patients managed in a community setting. 2. To enrol into the Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE) Program. 3. All patients will undergo annual comprehensive assessment (CA) at a diabetes centre with personalized JADE report (JADE) at basline. Half of the randomized patients will be managed with additional support by a trained community health worker (CHW) (JADE+CHW). 4. All patients will undergo annual comprehensive assessments for comparison of attainment of treatment targets for 3 years

NCT ID: NCT00706030 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Study Evaluating Neratinib (HKI-272) In Combination With Vinorelbine In Subjects With Solid Tumors And Metastatic Breast Cancer

Start date: April 29, 2008
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to identify the highest tolerable dose of neratinib (HKI-272) in combination with vinorelbine and to assess the safety of the combination of the two drugs as well as to obtain preliminary information on whether the combination of the two drugs has any effect on solid tumors. The study will be conducted in two parts. In the first part, testing will be done on up to 12 subjects to determine the highest tolerable dose of HKI-272 and vinorelbine in patients with advanced solid tumors. In the second part of the study, approximately 60 additional subjects with metastatic ErbB-2-positive breast cancer, with no prior exposure to lapatinib, are planned to be added to better define the tolerability and preliminary activity of HKI-272 in combination with vinorelbine. Up to 20 additional subjects with ErbB-2-positive breast cancer with prior lapatinib exposure are also planned to be enrolled in part 2 for exploratory analyses.

NCT ID: NCT00700310 Completed - Clinical trials for Refractory Partial Seizures

Evaluating Efficacy and Safety of E2007 (Perampanel) Given as Adjunctive Therapy in Subjects With Refractory Partial Seizures

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of perampanel when given as an adjunctive therapy in subjects with refractory partial seizures.

NCT ID: NCT00700180 Completed - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study of Avastin (Bevacizumab) in Combination With Carboplatin-Based Chemotherapy in Patients With Advanced or Recurrent Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

Start date: September 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will explore the correlation of biomarkers with response rate, and the overall efficacy and safety, of Avastin in combination with carboplatin-based chemotherapy in patients with advanced or recurrent non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. Patients will be randomized to one of 2 groups, to receive either Avastin 7.5mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle, or Avastin 15mg/kg iv on day 1 of each 3 week cycle; all patients will also receive treatment with carboplatin and either gemcitabine or paclitaxel for a maximum of 6 cycles. The anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00694382 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Evaluation of AVE5026 in the Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism in Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy

SAVE-ONCO
Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective was to compare the efficacy of once daily subcutaneous injections of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) with placebo in the prevention of venous thromboembolism [VTE] in cancer patients at high risk for VTE and who were undergoing chemotherapy. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the safety of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026), to document Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) exposures, to try identifying a metagene predictor of VTE and to assess the survival status at one year in this population.

Erbitux in Combination With Xeloda and Cisplatin in Advanced Esophago-gastric Cancer

EXPAND
Start date: June 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate that addition of cetuximab to 1st-line treatment with capecitabine (Xeloda, X) and cisplatin (P) [XP] chemotherapy regimen has a clinically relevant benefit for subjects with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma including gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, in terms of progression free survival (PFS). Secondary objectives are to assess cetuximab plus XP versus XP alone with respect to overall survival, overall tumor response, quality of life (QoL) and safety.
