This international clinical study will enroll participants with a suspected diagnosis of IPF/ILD. This study will characterize the disease behavior of IPF and ILD in the peri-diagnostic period. This objective will be achieved using a multidimensional approach assessing changes in pulmonary function, measured by daily handheld spirometry and site spirometry as well as assessing physical functional capacity at home (accelerometry) and at site (6-minute walk tests [6MWT]). Daily handheld spirometry or physical functional capacity assessments are not routinely performed in this participant population. By following participants' lung function before and after diagnosis using home spirometry, levels of physical activity, as well as self-assessment data from the participants (patient reported outcomes; PRO), the study would provide potentially more rapid information on disease behavior and eventually progression compared to usual clinic measurements that occur only every 3-6 months. By receiving data from daily handheld spirometry measurements, treating physicians may have an improved chance of detecting earlier and outside of hospital visits a decline in lung function that could potentially lead to improvements in both diagnosis and treatment for participants with IPF/ILD.

The objective of KERAAL technological project is to create a new intelligent robot which allows a humanoid robot to record then to show and to follow the progress of rehabilitation sessions proposed by a physiotherapist to a patient, the latter being able to practice without the physiotherapist. The final objective is to stimulate and increase the overseen time of rehabilitation. Poppy robot was chosen as it is able to realize all kind of movements notably movements of the spine with 5 degrees of freedom associated to the several levels of the spine. It will allow to address the population included in the protocol. RCOOL study tries to validate this prototype device as tool of rehabilitation. The main objective is the feasibility of the supervision by a humanoid robot of a succession of rehabilitation exercises. RCOOL study is a randomized clinical trial checked under single-blind condition to compare two rehabilitation strategies, one with exercises executed by the patients and supervised by Poppy and the other one with usual rehabilitation protocol.
It appears necessary to confront the reality of the contribution of technological progress in the creation of prostheses with the specific features of lower limb amputees. These contributions must be clearly identified in their different functional dimensions. This justifies a quantitative approach to the locomotor abilities of these patients, with regard to bioenergy parameters (consumption of oxygen while walking) and motor biomechanical parameters (quantified analysis of movement), so as to measure the real impact of the proposed prosthesis technology, as a complement to classical qualitative approaches. In this context, Dijon CHU, thanks to its Technological Investigation Platform (PIT, CIC 1432), and the company PROTEOR established a research partnership aiming to: - Refine the indications for the prescription of new products, by ensuring that they correspond to the profiles of the patients concerned and their true needs, - Study the underlying adaptive mechanisms, and establish new recommendations for their use, depending on the profiles of the users, - And ultimately, better evaluate, in a more rigorous and systematic manner, the prostheses available on the market. The research protocol presented in this document aims to provide a framework for part of the explorations that will be conducted in the context of this partnership. Lower-limb amputees who will be evaluated in this research will wear these prostheses (foot and/or knee prostheses), which bear the CE logo, and thus present all of the safety and performance conditions required for their use by these patients (prostheses destined for usual prescriptions), the objective of the study was not to evaluate the prostheses as such, but to explore and quantify the impact of these prostheses and their eventual modifications on the locomotor abilities of the patients concerned. The investigations will be conducted using non-invasive evaluation tools available on the PIT platform, with no modification in the usual management of these voluntary patients.
Most trauma deaths are related to traumatic brain injury (TBI). Although the management of patients has improved, mortality remains unacceptably high, and half of survivors of moderate and severe TBI are left with major functional impairment. Current management guidelines are based on limited evidence and practice is highly variable. Most acutely ill patients with TBI will develop anemia, which may decrease oxygen delivery to a fragile brain. While clinical practice is moving towards transfusing at low hemoglobin (Hb) levels, experts have expressed concerns regarding restrictive strategies, which may adversely affect clinical outcomes in TBI. Our primary objective is to evaluate the effect of red blood cell (RBC) transfusion thresholds on neurological functional outcome. We hypothesize that a liberal transfusion strategy improves outcomes compared to a restrictive strategy.
